How did you get that from my post?Actually I don’t. Not in my own marriage. I just look at my kids and I can’t imagine anyone (let alone my own husband) doing anything to hurt them, let alone the ONE THING that could hurt them more than anything in the world, to put their family in jeopardy because of selfishness.
And don’t make it out like I am the one doing anything to my children by demanding truthfulness in my marriage. The CHEATER in this scenario has done ALL of the damage, the spouse and children being the victims of a person’s unbelievable selfishness. Anything that happens as a result is from the actions of marital infidelity, not of the person who wants to live in a truthful marriage. This is victim shaming at its worst.
You would be within your rights to demand the truth and let the chips fall where they might. That would be your choice, and I understand that for you, the idea of betrayal by not disclosing an affair is beyond the pale.
FYI, I would not advise keeping a continuing affair to oneself. Having a mistress is another situation entirely. However, in some cultures, it is common for a man to have a wife and a mistress and many times, both are aware. I don’t know how women deal with that - it would mean the end of the marriage if I found that my husband had kept a mistress.
