Oh boy, take it down a notch or two. The Republican Congress did nothing, now you want to make accusations the Republican Congress were involved in something. The Republican Congress did nothing and couldn’t do anything. No one is hiding evidence or refusing oversight, and just because legal justification and explanations were given doesn’t mean such either.

I don’t think there is much point in discussing any of this with anybody who either can see no wrong in him or else can admit nothing good about him, do you? Or with those who really think that one party or the other is unmitigated evil, full of hidden agendas and covert intentions?

What is the point of a discussion that can lead nowhere? We have lives to lead.

I’ll admit this: his habit of brazen fabrication is disqualifying, as far as I’m concerned. That won’t get him impeached or removed, but neither can he rack up enough good boy points with his policies or his speeches to earn him the room to do that.

I know who the Father of Lies is. This President goes beyond the mendacity that was practiced before he came on the scene.

Truth is truth.

Well, you are right. The Republican Congress did NOTHING. They sat on their hands and did nothing. And history will not forget.

Did you remember that Trump said he welcomed a trial in the Senate that would be fair? Still no witnesses even if they can be crossed examined by Trump’s lawyers. Pure, 100% cover-up.

Yes, I know that Fox selects the evidence that it lets its audience see.
 
I have enough friends who are Trumpies to get it. It really isn’t hidden.
This dialog doesn’t make sense because they are not interested in making sense.
The dark and tribal is very real. It explains it all.
These are smart people who know exactly what they are saying. They just don’t feel it matters when talking to us.
 
I was thinking here that fulfilling campaign promises would be interferring with an election… The President has the wealth and power of the nation behind him… (usually when he’s not being investigated and called every name in the liberal play book…) he can use his office to fulfill campaign promises… he would probably need to be impeached for that… and taken off the ballot in the next election or he just might do it again!!!

Has a vote for witnesses occurred yet? Did I miss something. Take up your complaint with the US Senators. Just because you want additional witnesses and a fishing expedition doesn’t mean others do. Maybe they feel they have all the evidence they need to make a judgement. If the Dems were concerned with a cover-up just because additional witness may not be called (so laughable) they should have gotten their case in better order before submitting it and followed through with getting witnesses themselves. Reverting to the low blows of cover up just because Trump is going to be acquitted is the same we have have heard since Trump beat Hillary. It’s all just one big cover up because the Dems keep losing at every turn. Ha ha ha ha.

I think you mean what Schiff and the rest of the Managers select, they left out quite a bit which was said by their own witnesses and the WH defense team did a great job of pointing out the full statement and additional statements said by the witnesses. Of course the House Managers were selective though because it didn’t fit their narrative. They were deceptive using lots of different tools.

Unless you read and listen to the evidence on video tape of the same Democrat witnesses finishing their statements to Schiff and the Republican questioners… when you listen to ALL of the evidence… the Democratic claims are half truths and a set up and I hope no one ever does that to you… it’s exactly what the MSM has been doing for three years to President Trump.
 
It would be a LOT easier to make reasonable inferences if the Dems would show the whole responses from the witnesses instead of picking out the incriminating pieces and ignoring the exculpatory parts… then we could use our brains to make honest decisions on guilt or innocence.
 
You might be right. But it is getting worse. Imagine frightened angry people feeling things slip away.They find out that in concert, they can all say ," the sun rises in the west," tomorrow. They learn if enough of them say I and insist on it, others have to deal with their alternate facts. These arguments with us verify it works and they gain confidence.
It gives them a sense of control in a world where control is slipping away.
How far can it go? I am reminded that good Baptists, right here in America, armed with Sola Scriptura, justified the evil of chattal slavery because the Holy Spirit told them blacks were descendants of Ham, from scripture, and so slavery was just right.
Think about that. These illusions are still baby steps
 
You know, if the first talk of impeachment would not have come before the Ukraine issue, I would probably have written to Senator McConnell insisting on allowing Witnesses during this Senate trial. (I’m one of his constituents)

As a US citizen, I think I deserve the truth of the matter. But that is not how all this went down.

Here’s an example of how it went down.


And that wasn’t even the beginning of the Democrats mission of impeaching Trump.

We already know the truth. The truth being the Democratic Party has rejected the result of the 2016 Presidential election. They won’t accept it.

Hilary wouldn’t even make an appearance on Election night. Instead, the crowd got Podesta.


And that right there was in fact the beginning of the rejection and denial of the voice of the American voter. The right to do as we always have done. Elect our representatives.

Before the 2016 election, the losing party would lick it’s wounds and accept they lost. It was their turn to be unhappy for 4-8 years.

It will be interesting to see how the Democratic party reacts when the Senate acquit Trump. Will they reject the power the Senate is granted to make that decision, or will they regroup and accept it all went down this way because that’s how our Constitution dictates it can ?

I hope for their sake, they move on and eventually realize they have in their ranks people like Tulsi Gabbard who loves her country and carries herself in a manner that shows it.

If anyone watched the hearings on NPR they would get the same information (the truth about what the witnesses REALLY said.) You don’t have to slur posters or news outlets… Just open your eyes and ears and listen to the proceedings for yourself…
 
Pray, do penance. Do charity.
Those are things we can do.
I’m not saying there is no point in defending the truth but there are arenas where it does something and there are arenas where you’re just going to get mud balls coming from the foxholes on both sides.

Unless we get some big surprises, meanwhile, the people who will decide the next election probably won’t decide whether to vote or who to vote for until after the kids have all decided on their Halloween costumes.

There are probably few or none of them watching the impeachment proceedings.

Spoiler Alert: The Senate is not going to convict.
Not all Democrats get that, but the outgoing Speaker of the House knows it and always has.
