Is God's Love unconditional?

How convenient a stipulation for a supernatural God you can’t see, all while living in a natural world.
Convenient for God to keep apart from you … until Seeker 777 comes looking for him ?

God is everywhere in his creation. He caused your first heartbeat and blew air into your infantile lungs. He lets you enjoy his earthly creations … yet you claim you can’t see proof of his existance ?

All you have in life comes from him … except your Pride, arrogance, and disbelief. Develop some spiritual eyes … and look for him with them.

Those who seek will find. Are you willing to truly seek ?

You are making some interesting assumptions about me.

Perhaps I have taken my spiritual goggles off and I’m finding that I now see better without my spiritual prescription.

No … just rejected.

Put your worldly wisdom up against that of men/women of God … you will lose every argument.
On the contrary, it seems that the men and women of God, retreat into obscurity when challenged with reason.

I accept your challenge ! Choose your question, put it in a new thread, sign your name to it … and lets see if the Catholics retreat from your challenge.

By your argument, everything must have a designer.

Who or what created your God?
In your creator of creator scenario, the first creator would have to be superior to its “child” because the “parent” creator defines the attributes of its “child”. And if the first creator had its own parent, it would similarly be inferior to that parent. This implies a succession of finite creators (finite in knowledge and power). But if the real creator is infinite (i.e., without limit) in knowledge and power, there can only be one. The simultaneous existence of multiple, infinitely powerful creators is a contradiction because one’s “sphere of operation” would be limited by the “sphere of operation” of another. Limited power is not infinite. And a finite God is no God at all. So your difficulty can be resolved by the notion of one, uncreated, infinitely powerful God who exists.

You may be familiar with the well-known Old Testament account of Moses’ encounter with God in the burning bush. In that exchange, Moses asked God his name and God replied “I am”.

On the contrary, almost every point I have made, has been utterly avoided.
Not so…you just don’t like the answers.

Really seeker…what is your point in being on here? You are obviously not seeking…you are just trying to bring people around to your line of thought. If you don’t want to believe…that’s your prerogative. Whether we believe or not should be of no difference to you.

In that exchange, Moses asked God his name and God replied “I am”.
God has always been and you can’t prove that.

That answer satisfies you? Even though, it contradicts the argument that everything needs a creator.

( except God) 🤷

The answers are less than satisfactory.

Is the onus not on you, within an apologetics thread, to actually produce thoughtful commentary that defends your system of belief?

Or would you prefer to question my motives, rather than provide an adequate defense of your faith?

If my objections are not wanted, if the members would prefer to surround themselves with like minded people, then perhaps this particular board should be closed.

Do not fear reason.

Only creation needs a creator. God was not created. It’s the essence of monotheism and monotheism has satisfied alot more folks than me.

Rules don’t permit you to hijack another’s thread …
So far, we have indulged you … since you are a guest.

Start your own thread with your own question of paramount importance … then we can fairly debate you at length. Place your thread in Apologetics section … that is where you will get your existential questions on the Trinity, etc answered most fully.

Is this a fact based on evidence, or is this your religious belief based upon faith?

If it’s a fact, please explain how you have come to this conclusion.

Very well.

Gods love is not unconditional.

God created fallible weak humans and demands perfection from them in order for his creation to enter paradise.

If a person does not believe in God, he apparently throws them into a lake of fire for eternity.

That is love that is dependent upon requirements.

" I love you, but I’m content to have you wallow in a lake of fire." Clearly, that’s not love.

Are you satisfied with the notion that inanimate matter formed itself into an amoeba with no outside intelligent (name removed by moderator)ut? I’m not.

I suppose that I’m not satisfied that a supernatural being that no one can see or hear, created a natural universe.

.
That first line … is anothers choice, for this thread.

Use your second choice … start a thread in apologetics with that as your topic for debate.

You know you are wrong … don’t you ? Don’t be scared to find out why … 🙂

I realize that. But you didn’t answer my question. I tried to answer some of yours.

Hello fewnotmany and All Others –
First – fewnotmany, if I were choosing a new user name, in contrast to your name I would choose “all.” Not few. Not just many. But “all.” But on to point two.

God’s Love is absolutely unconditional. God does not change. God cannot really change. Since God IS really God, God’s Love is unconditional.

To prod some thinking – When God created Lucifer … God Loved Lucifer. Has God STOPPED Loving Lucifer? No way. Lucifer changed in his/her/its relation to God … but God never changes in God’s relation to Lucifer/Satan.

As a matter of fact it is God’s LOVE and WARMTH and LIGHT that is a terrible torture to Satan.
Blessing to you, fewnotmany, and to all others!

The answers are less than satisfactory to you…because you don’t want to believe…and because you want to be right.

Have you ever listened to an apologetics debate between a Catholic and Protestant apologist like Staples/Gregg? They each present their side of the argument respectfully and move on.

Their is no onus on us to explain anything further to you. We have answered. You don’t like the answer. Go read the Catechism.

Ultimately, yes…sometimes it comes down to a matter of faith. Transubstantiation for example. We can’t prove it scientifically…but we believe it. We don’t require you to believe it.

Again, I ask you: Why does it matter so much to you if we do believe?
