Is this thread of any use other than tearing down a Christian who made a mistake and was too proud to admit it? It seems like all parties involved are being snooty, petty and uncharitable. Does any of this advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in any way?

Does any of this advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ in any way?
In a strange sort of way yes it does.

It shows me, for one, quite clearly that engaging with certain catholics regarding the catholic faith is about the most destructive thing one could do, if one is earnestly seeking to know the catholic faith fully.

Misinformation, disinformation, and down right made up stuff, when challenged, bring down ire and bile upon the questioner.

This is a non catholic forum. Non catholics read with interest what catholics have to say about their faith.

If I accepted the word of some people here I would have no doubt that:
  • the catholic church pronounces people in hell
  • a baby not yet born is not a life
  • the pope has extra terrestrial powers
  • four men wrote the bible
  • Jesus came to bring jews to the gentiles
  • Jesus was produced, not born
  • orthodox christians do not have apostolic succession
  • catholics must insult, undermine, and patronise all non catohlics at every opportunity possible
  • The God of the old testament is not the same as the God of the new testament
  • Luther is the antichrist
  • Only catholics are saved
  • the list is much longer but you get the idea.
These are all statements boldly made in the name of catholicism here on this board.

However the contribution of reasonable and charitable catholics along with well educated in the faith other non catholics help to counteract these attrocious statements.

Thus advancing the true Gospel of Jesus.

Yea, cuz coming from a guy that is unbaptized, unchurched etc…(as your own words), we should listen to you. After all, you continue to profess your Catholic knowledge while you can’t even figure out what you are…please…

It is logical since Protestants protest the very church I belong to.

As I told you before, you cant just snap your fingers and become a catholic. There is a process to be gone through, and Im going through it 😉 👍 I thought you would have known that:confused: It’s called RCIA

GOTS, give it a break…you really are obnoxious. Like i said, if you so perfectly know the Catholic church yet refuse to be in it, you have committed a grave sin, therefore I would worry about your own soul.

Honestly, I am ashamed of you for becoming Catholic. You are downright mean and obnoxious. You do not have the Holy Spirit within you.
Do you think making a statement on a public forum that I do not have the Holy Spirit in me is Christ like behavior?

If it’s not the Holy Spirit that is leading me to enquire further into the catholic church, do you think it’s an evil spirit then?

Do you think judging me in this manner is Christ like behavior?

Do you think judging me and saying I dont have the Holy Spirit in me is argumentative and designed to be insulting and offensive to me - do you think this is the action of a true Christian, someone steeped in the catholic faith and catholic charity?

You posted this:
Only non-Catholics here always seem to argue…I honestly notice this quite a bit. Very Christ like…not.
Do you see any irony in the last quote above?

Perhaps not, because you also posted this:

I understand and I agree. Do you think **a 2 week old sac **that isnt even a baby, nor is it completely formed is the same as having an adult skinned alive and made out of lampshades, not to mention being led in the dark to a room naked and then burned alive? Come on here…
And then posted this:

No,** I never said sac**. I am not here to argue. Have a nice day.
Ive had some very supportive PMs and will continue in RCIA despite your pronouncements on me personally.

I will keep you in my prayers 😃 👍

GOTS, I have shown many friends your posts here and they all say the same thing…you are a piece of work…👍 Hopefully you do not give the RCIA teacher the same sarcastic, arrogant, self-righteous attitude as you have displayed here thus far. Maybe, just maybe your heart will soften, once you finish the true church of Christ. you are privileged for God to have chosen you to come home to Rome. Just make sure you show that appreciation in your classes.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Man you even show my posts to your friends 👍

I must really get to you :rotfl:

Bottom line - you dont lead men into battle knowing you and they may be killed, captured, tortured, beheaded on youtube, by being a shrinking violet.

Im supremely confident in my abilites - you confuse that for arrogance.

Baseline - you dont like taking correction - especially the errors you have touted about your own faith, from someone unbatised and unchurched.

Im no different in class than I am here.

Guess what - they love me 😃 :extrahappy:

Only a true Catholic could see any good coming out of a list like that.😃

Thank God there ARE people like GuyontheStreet coming into the church to provide a balance to you and your “friends”. Thank God not all Catholics are “True Catholics” of this variety.

So now you wish to debate whether a Protestant protests the Catholic church or not…:hmmm: well guess what? There is no debate. It is what it is and you are grasping at straws here.

We love you too! :blushing:

Now take on the OP.🍿
I’ve been born again to a living hope through Jesus Christ. I have an inheritance in heaven that is imperishable. By God’s power, it is being guarded through faith.
I had a cold one behind the bar for all my men after every mission.

It had their name on it.

Noone else could touch it.

It belonged to them and only them.

But the only way they got it is if they made it back.

And that was anything but certain.

But when we did - man did we tear up the joint.

😃

Man, you are strange…:whacky::whacky:

I find it amazing how all the protestant faiths vary so much… Look at how the Amish live for example compared to the Episcopalians…

complete opposite.

Could it be that groups from the past chose to mold their faith around their preferred lifestyles, rather than choosing to mold their lifestyles around their faith? I say yes.
It’s called the “watering-down” of faith!

Guess what - they love me 😃 :extrahappy:
We love you too 😃 When I was involved with RCIA I would have loved to have had someone like you in class. A breath of fresh air. 😃
Man, you are strange…:whacky::whacky:
I think Guy was being allegorical to show he understood the meaning of the passage. Guy may I ask, is your name pronounced like the American Guy or the French Guy? I’m just curious based on something you said in a previous thread.

Only non-Catholics here always seem to argue…I honestly notice this quite a bit. Very Christ like…not.
hmmm… that’s interesting…

never noticed that before but i think you are right… WAY right…

(bad grammar, i know) :o

no it isn’t…

if a person is truly Catholic and someone who is not truly Catholic argues with him or her… about some dogma or doctrine taught ex cathedra by the Church.

only one person can be right… andd guess which one it is?

if a person argues with 80% of what a true, catechized Catholic says… that person is only right, well 20% of the time…

and part of the time doesn’t count when you are talking about objective truht. This is important because When we die, we will have to face Objective Truth Incarnate…

for example: God isn’t going to say to someone who calls himself catholic but, say, believes killing the unborn is no big deal…( so we can vote for candidates who are pro-abortion)… "Oh, that’s OK… no biggie… "

objective truth says that murder is murder and should NEVER be legalized… promoted… tolerated… accepted

If we sinners don’t learn objective, absolute truth - otherwise known as Jesus Christ - in this life we will learn in the next… hopefully that learning process in the next life won’t be too painful, although i have heard that it IS… & hopefully the pain won’t be*** eternal***

then how come no mention of those who are true Catholics… no mention of waht true Catholics believe…?

and by the way, i haven’t heard any Catholics here say any of those things… have no idea what you are talking about…

yes, i have, now t hat i think about it, heard some say that only Cahtolics make it to Heaven… and i have corrected them…

but it is also important to say that it is much EASIER to get into Heaven when one is Catholic… and … easier to end up in Hell if you are not…

to reject christ’s church in ignorance is not a hell-worthy sin per se…

but to reject Christ’s true Church IS objectively speaking, rejecting Christ

i just wonder how many non-C’s here @ CAF and elsewhere are truly ignornat… and how many are just… What? pretending???

so they can continue to aggravate cahtolics???

wouldn’t suprrise me…
