No kidding? Youve done all that? Wow what a way to spend your life!!!

I dont think its worth it. 😦
For me personally, there was nothing more important than to really cut through all the confusion, disagreement, and opinions of the the various religions.

I wanted to know for myself, without any doubt, what the Bible really said. I didn’t want to rely on anyone else’s opinion.

Most people express what they believe by simply repeating what their Church says. Most have never even read the Bible through once.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It includes His thoughts and his specific message to mankind.

I can’t imagine anything more important than understanding what it really says for myself.

I dont think God expects this of anyone.

Christ has died, Christ is Risen, Christ will come again

Will work wonders on anyone

Hey remember your vows. 😃
He would be abusing his role as father and husband and a Zillion other things if he did that to us!

I would also find all the reciepts of the bibles and go return them so we would be able to make the mortgage payment after spending 2,000 bucks on bibles!

I did not say divorce, but darn tootin I would leave him.

You did it smart.

But, seriously 8 hours a day would be abusive to our family.

You are pretty dedicated in finding religious truths. I hope it did well with you. And I hope you still consider the possibility that even with all that work, you could have done some pretty wrong assumptions. Just keep having an open mind. šŸ™‚

But Steve you are talking to Catholics, the Bible is not the only thing our religion is based on. We believe the Word of God is the Bible—the whole Bible, Tradition and the Church which includes the Magisterium and personal revelations. We are not Sola Scriptura. So right off the bat you are starting out on the wrong foot with us. Your opinion of the importance of Scripture is irrelevant to our faith.

And if you are so sure of your faith then WHY are you here? To convert us? They you need to come at it from a different angle as I said before.

I personally am not here to be convereted but to answer other’s questions about my beliefs.

what do you want to know about Catholicism Steve?

To all here, I posted Bible Steves post number 289 in another thread in the non catholic forum here to see what others think about this study method.

Unfortunately, I think some people thought it was MY PLAN!:o 🤷

I still can’t figure out why he spent all that time and effort and then turned his brain over to a bunch of nutjobs like the JWs.

8 hours a day for at least 1 year. straight. i wonder how he pulled it off. maybe he was in prison. 😃
If he was in the joint, he wouldn’t have room for all the bibles. Unless he slept outside the cell. Or maybe he was under house arrest?😃

Again, I will patiently await an answer from you that I have no expectation of getting.

If its so accurate, why the study group (with no mentioned credentials) to check for accuracy?

I will ask as many times as it takes, and I will ask you to refrain from posting if you can not, or will not answer.
There won’t be an answer.

The committee who translated the NWT, only one had a passing knowledge of Greek, none of Hebrew. We find this out from someone who left the group who was involved.

One thing about ā€œaccuracy.ā€ In the NWT of I think Luke (I don’t have the translation with me) of the Transfiguration, it says ā€œit really was Moses and Elijah.ā€ Now since Elijah is alive, no problem. But Moses died back in Deutronomy, and according to JW, that means he passed out of existence. How can it really be him then? In the episode of the witch at Endor, they put Samuel in quotations, so as to deny the immortality of the sould.

^ Thats a pretty unrealistic advise, Steve. šŸ™‚
Borders on idol worship. I cannot imagine a layman doing this. A biblical scholar over the course of a lifetime, maybe. Even then, would this lead you to a mysterious organization that is in prophecy only to the extent that Christ warned of false teachers? My sincere-o-meter’s needle didn’t budge off zero.

Thank you Isa Almisry!

You know, the jewish people were strongly divided about the immortality of the soul too. The ones interestingly, who got it right were the Pharisee’s.

glad to see you here.

Wait till you see my other thread about Bible Steves bible study method… i posted it here in the Non Catholic forum so anyone can feel free to say it like it is, but no debate.
