Bible Steve,
Would you call this study you tell us of, close to the concordant methold?
Would you call this study you tell us of, close to the concordant methold?
Honestly, I’ve never heard about this method… I’ll have to go read up on it… I’ll let you knowBible Steve,

Thanks, I was hoping if you need any questions answered of me, as well you will let me know.Honestly, I’ve never heard about this method… I’ll have to go read up on it… I’ll let you know

“You can’t listen to him, he’s not a scholar!”
“He doesn’t even have a degree from the best school!”
“Obviously, he wrong, because his views conflict with what our religion has taught for over a thousand years!”
“Our faith is based on over a thousand years of tradition, with priests, and succession!”
Catholics complaining about JW’s or Jason Debuhn’s book?
No, 1st century Jews complaining about Jesus, his apostles, and early disciples…
(Matthew 11:25) At that time Jesus said in response: “I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes.
(Acts 4:13) Now when they beheld the outspokenness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were men unlettered and ordinary, they got to wondering. And they began to recognize about them that they used to be with Jesus;
(Matthew 13:54-56) And after coming into his home territory he began to teach them in their synagogue, so that they were astounded and said: “Where did this man get this wisdom and these powerful works? 55 Is this not the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary, and his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? 56*And his sisters, are they not all with us? Where, then, did this man get all these things?”
So Steve if you are thoroughly convinced you have the truth, why are you here? This is a forum for people who have questions and are seeking the Catholic faith, not to disprove it or proselytize for their own faith. Surely you can get all YOU need to know about Catholics from your own sources can’t you?
I am not being mean to you I just can’t figure out why you would risk censor from the elders spending this much time in our midst if you were not indeed counting your time talking to us.
No, I’ve read up on the concordant method… I wouldn’t say that is what I did. I simply used my own method that allowed me to see the similarities and differences between many translations.Maybe he is researching the origins and definition of the concordant method. I hope it wont take to long, unless he is going line by line checking all dictionaries for what is the most accurate definition.
Might be a while I think.
That’s a scary thought. After researching so many religions how can someone fall for one that is not even considered a Christian one? Probably our friend Steve has me on his ignore list, but it’s pretty interesting to see that someone who has a college degree and be so, how should I put it?.. So, well versed? I’m not finding the words I want to say, but someone who’s been educated enough to have a critical mind, how can he have fallen for the WT?It was only then, that I began to realize that JW’s may be speaking the truth…
And JWs don’t? They are masters at doing this…It’s truly a shame that no one cares and they just go along believing what they’ve been told.
And JWs aren’t on autopilot? I don’t want to say they are brainwashed, but that’s what it looks like… and BTW, Catholics aren’t hypnotized. We are actually encouraged to question our faith. We are told that you shouldn’t stop questioning until you find the answers because he who prohibits from letting others search for the truth has something to hide , and that’s exactly what the WT does. The WT prohibits JWs to search and question their faith. In my opinion, most Christians are on autopilot, almost hypnotized into believing whatever they are told by their church without any independant research.
Search for the truth and you will find the Truth and I am sure if you really search, you will arrive at the Catholic Church.Matt 7: **7 **"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Thank you, Hellisreal. That’s very nice of you to say this…Steve, thanks for coming back on. I thought you would.
I see similarities in your method and this one though, but I do believe you when you say its your own method because I take you on face value, and have no reason to think otherwise.
By the way, I hope you will be able to come back and check for new threads on JW topics from time to time. You are much more knowledgable than any other JW I have conversed with, and I think it helps to get information from someone who has really emmersed themselves into their faith rather than just tries to meet the minimum requirements.![]()
Actually, based on my reading of scripture, I’m not surprised that the group that really is following the Bible would be dismissed with names like “cult” and “non-Christian”……After researching so many religions how can someone fall for one that is not even considered a Christian one?..
I think what you really mean is “the group following the Watchtower”.I’m not surprised that the group that really is following the Bible would be dismissed with names like “cult” and “non-Christian”…
Always going back and forth in circles. Then, the same goes for Catholicism. It’s the most criticized religion in the world for its tough teachings such as moral values, marriage, sex, contraception, Papal authority, just to name a few.Actually, based on my reading of scripture, I’m not surprised that the group that really is following the Bible would be dismissed with names like “cult” and “non-Christian”…
No, based on my own personal study program (outlined here and on another thread), I’m in a very good position to make my own conclusion about them following the Bible…I think what you really mean is “the group following the Watchtower”.
Steve, I don’t want to attack you or come out as a “JW critic”, as you call me and many other posters here, but remember that I am married to a JW and I went with him to ALL the meetings and assemblies for over a year. I’ve been inside the walls of the WT and I am not misinformed at all.No, based on my own personal study program (outlined here and on another thread), I’m in a very good position to make my own conclusion about them following the Bible…
This bit about simply following “the Watchtower” is disinformation put out by JWcritics…
Thank you for these nice words…… but I respect you as a person, as an educated person, and as a devoted person to God…
You’re very welcome but it’s the truth, no need to thank me.Thank you for these nice words…
