Mass, Mahony Style

There are architects with no sense of the theological implications of a Church. And no one on the “building committees” seems inclined to set them straight. They are not Church’s, they are giant unsacred living rooms where all can gather round the table and feast on bread and wine.

The architects of the Cathedral of Our lady of Angels certainly didn’t have a sense of the sacred when they built this:

I don’t mind the baptistry, though I think it should be in its own chapel.

And I would have said “airplane hangar.”

Oh, the airplane hangars here aren’t that magnificent! But it looks just like the apartment buildings in downtown Calgary. if someone was looking for a Cathedral, they would drive right by it!

You know, they had the chance to do the same thing in Oakland: there was a plan submitted for a beautiful, California/Spanish Mission style cathedral. But no, they went ultra-mod, with something that looks not unlike San Francisco’s washing machine agitator of a cathedral. Were it not for Bear and Palmas et al, I would start to wonder if there is not something in the water supply out there, at least the water that gets diverted to the seminaries.

Oh and they made sure they got that underway before the new bishop came in. He’s stuck with it now because it would literally cost the diocese millions to change the outside. That said, the inside it his and from what I understand, the theater in the round is gone and rumor has it it ain’t making some of the donators happy because the inside is actually scheduled to look Catholic! The outside looks like a hotel to me. It’s defnitely not as asthetically offensive as the agitator but it doesn’t scream Catholic. It screams Hilton. Can you believe there used to be a debate on whether or not it would have a cross on it?! Scratch that. I’m sure you can. The mission style one was sooooooooo pretty. Too bad the old bishop didn’t bother to glance at it.😦

Iam the one who took the video footage last Sunday at The Los Angeles Religious Education Congress. Iam not Captain Mike but his co captain his wife. Iam no videographer as you can tell but I tried my best for the first time using a video camera. My husband and I attend a as some of you call it NO parish.We never been to a SSPX or churchs like the SSPX. My husband and I have been attending theReligious congress for 12 years now! We have done much research on many of the speakers that give workshops at the congress. Many Many teach heresy and are obsessed with talking about sex and all kinds of sex. Just do a google search on a few speakers like Sr. Fran Ferder, Fr. Richard Rohr, Fr. Michael Crosby, Diana Hayes, Edwina Gatley, Julian Filochowski, Fr. Donald Cozzens,Fr. James Martin , Tom Beaudoin,Fr. Brian Massingale, Jim Wallis,Bill Huesbsch, Fr. Pattrick Brenan this is just some of the speakers this year speaking. The laity needs to be informed and need to complain to the Papal Nuncio Archbishop Pietro Sambi. My friend talked to a secretary at the Papal Nuncio office, The Papal Nucio said that The Authorites at The Vatican want to see the laity outrage about the Liturgical abuses.They want us to take video and pictures, write letters, email, but video is what they like the best the secretary said. So when a particular bishop is called in. The Vatican Authorities have hard evidence of the particular abuse. Please Pray very For Cardinal Mahony and all bishops and priests so that they will come back to the Teachings and the proper way The Holy Sacrifice of The Mass is supposed to be said. Also write, email the video footage link to the papal nuncio and the Congregations at the Vatican. Be firm in your displeasure when writing a quick letter or email message. Tell other people you know , to this as well. We are the Church Militant! Pray, Fast, and take active participation(letter , email, video and pictures) in stopping these scandals. People who hunt down liturgical abuses- like they WANT to find them- need to think about what is important to them. It’s as if some of these people are hoping someone is going to mess up, so they can meet with their circle of friends and bash princes of the Church and priests of God without allowing them the chance to explain themselves or hear about their disagreements. I don’t particularly like Cardinal Mahony, but I would like the person who maligned a prince of the Church rather than pray for him even less.

Great. Send it to the Vatican. The video does no good here. We all know about liturgical abuses. We don’t need to view them. We need to take action and eradicate them.

It will be sent many times over, I am sure. Because of the video and the people who took the time to view it and register their concerns, maybe something will actually get done about the abuses that are happening.
