It will be sent many times over, I am sure. Because of the video and the people who took the time to view it and register their concerns, maybe something will actually get done about the abuses that are happening.
Don’t get me wrong, sending videos of abuse to Rome is a great idea. If the point was to post this video and then have everyone send it to Rome, that would be good also. But it wasn’t. It was posted so we could view and then make negative comments about a very sad situation. What good does that achieve?

People who hunt down liturgical abuses- like they WANT to find them- need to think about what is important to them. It’s as if some of these people are hoping someone is going to mess up, so they can meet with their circle of friends and bash princes of the Church and priests of God without allowing them the chance to explain themselves or hear about their disagreements. I don’t particularly like Cardinal Mahony, but I would like the person who maligned a prince of the Church rather than pray for him even less.
That’s a rather unfair accusation. People have been rammed down with liturgical abuses, disrespect for God, love of the high life, ridicule of what used to be most precious to them, accusations of being schismatic, having to “suck up” to bishops in order to get TLM approval, etc. etc. etc. Forty years worth of it and where is it going to stop?

There is no real need to find them. They’re all over the place.

It seems like more of a challenge to find people who take pride in being Catholic and accept Christ as He was, is, and will be. And I think I have finally found some here.😉

If you take another look at my blog, you will see I posted the addresses at the Vatican for registering these complaints.

(Thanks to bearo6 for the addresses btw)

So, yes, the objective will be achieved. Without the exposure, it may not have happened.

Also, if you go back to my OP, you will see that I said I hope the Pope gets to view the video.

Why is finding/exposing Abusive prelates mutually exclusive to praying for them?
Just curious.

Well, ya gotta admit; it brought in CATHOLIC MIKE the video producer who further edified us, about the Church of Mahony, and assured us it is headed for Rome.
Of course, Rome is not gonna buck any cardinal unless he is indicted & convicted of a secular crime.
Wonder what would happen if they elected him pope because all we did was pray the Sorrowful Mysteries?
This video may stop such a possibility.
See, what good it may do?

Yikes, on 2nd thought, it may get him elected! Unholy Cow! Don’t send the video.!

It makes everyone aware of the situation.

The negative comments are only natural because, well, the video has a negative air about it.

I think whenever there is abuse on this scale, every Catholic on the face of the Earth should see it so that they can complain and get something done about it.

It gets very hard to make a comment like this without condemning the Vatican and the Catholic Church as a whole, given that it is likely at least one of the richest organizations in the world.
So it would be ok to deny Matthew 25 ministries (does anyone know what that is?) and instead build a 100 million plus dollar cathedral while an existing cathedral already, well, existed?
There are lots of poor people in this country and throughout the world. 100 million dollars could have vaccinated thousands, gave clean drinking water to thousands, fed thousands, and so on. They even charge you 8 or 9 bucks to park in the garage. It’s insanity. I’m sorry not saying this because it would hurt someone’s pride they have in a building and the vatican, but because it is the truth, the truth hurts. Buildings come and go.
We are the Body of Christ, we are the church. We need to take care of our brethren before we build a 100 million plus building.

If you’re talking about the very unsightly Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, it replaced Saint Vibiana’s Cathedral, which was damaged beyond repair in an earthquake.

If all of the Roman Catholic Church’s assets were converted to cash, there would not be enough money to feed the poor of the world for more than a week. Prove me wrong!

You can’t solve the problems of the poor by tearing down the rich.

As to the rest of this post, it was interesting.

The topic isn’t the riches of the Church, so please stay on topic. If anyone wants to discuss the Church’s assets, he is free to start a thread in another CAF forum (since this forum is for discussing Traditional Catholicism). Thank you.

Undoubtedly the Church in building cathedrals faces a quandary: the beauty of a cathedral (not Our Lady/ Person of Uncertain Gender in Los Angeles  ) gives glory to God. But the money is needed for the poor. We can and do do both. But I hope we remember the immense good the Church does for the poor in Africa already before we are so quick to critiscise.

A less expensive building could have been built, and done with traditional catholic tradition in mind.

Now that’s sumpthin we can all pray for; another earthquake at the Cathedral of Concrete, 4:17am Sat morning…preferably. Riktor 7.7 outa do it.

I agree with the latter part, but I dunno, in Southern California, I don’t think ANYTHING is done or can be done “less expensive.” Plus, I’d bet a lot of the money spent on the ugly Cathedral was from an insurance policy (though I don’t know).

I don’t like the preferably. The people & bishop of LA have not been that bad, and I hope you and am sure weren’t implying so?

Well, um…I dunno…as long as no one …I mean, you know, OBVIOUSLY we’d be praying that no one got hurt, right?

Maybe it could just be desacralized and sold to the city. That’s what I would do if the Holy Father got dizzy one day and made me Archbishop of LA.

They could turn it into low cost housing and build a REAL cathedral. Just a thought. Corporal work of mercy…

What if it just sort of fell in on itself when no one was around, would that be bad?
