I’m a bit flabbergasted, the rioters should be fully culpable for their actions.
I know nothing of race relations in America. I don’t know if this was simply a long standing issue that finally boiled over into aggression or if this is recent and totally uncalled for. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t support violence in any form, but it’s foolish in my opinion to disregard the history, if any, behind aggressive actions. There’s history behind the American Revolution, for example. The colonists didn’t up and decide to reject the government on a whim one day, IIRC.
Didn’t say it wasn’t valid. Said it wasn’t a good answer
Sorry, guess I should study the history of a culture that has had no bearing on my adolescent life at all. You should go study contemporary Korean issues as well, going by your logic.
I never said the riots were justifiable, I said, from where I’m sitting, there’s probably more nuance to them then what I know.
Edit: To restate what I am saying: I do not support violent protest. However, I can see, if race relations are really really bad in the USA, that the protestors may be frustrated to the point of violence.
I say that’s both a point against the protestors and likely a point against whatever they are protesting if they are frustrated to the point of violence.
Two wrongs do not make a right, but maybe the wrong of violent protest could have been prevented if the officer simply didn’t kneel on Mr. Floyd’s neck.
What I’m trying to say is based on the news I have read (from good sources too, like Reuters, which is internationally accredited), it seems like this isn’t a black and white issue.
Ah wait like black and white morally I mean haha.
