More "woke" brainwashing before and during Toy Story 4

I sometimes run educational programs to get girls more interested in science. There’s been a big push to conduct these sorts of efforts since at least the mid-90s. It’s just not working. As someone quoted above, the stats for female participation in STEM has gone down if anything, despite all the efforts to get girls excited about STEM.
Maybe it’s just one of those areas that guys are more interested in naturally.

Books are good. At least we have many original stories to choose from. Unlike the Hollywood remake machine. 🤣

Small children usually can’t pronounce a ‘k’ sound followed by an ‘s’ sound. So they drop the ‘k’. And it comes out as a word we can’t say on Catholic answers.

I personally do see it as an agenda
It’s exactly what they are doing, pushing it in kids’ films to normalize these invented concepts of family and to destroy the proper order of relationships between men and women.
Are you sure it isn’t just broadening their advertising…¯_(ツ)_/¯? If someone asked me if it’s an “agenda” or if the film makers/marketers are using a broad advertising brush to reach more families to get more people in the theater, I’d take the latter.

Sure it could, but I don’t believe that anyone is pushing an agenda. They’re trying to make money.

One of the reasons I don’t believe it is because:

Maybe it’s an age thing, but that’s the way our family rolls… I’m 0% offended by the movie trailer having a SS couple. Same thing if there is one in Toy Story 4. They do exist, why not try to market to them too? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think you’re being a bit (probably a lot bit) strong here, but if they do…can you blame them? It wasn’t long ago where homosexuals were harassed and beaten just for being homosexual. So, to be fair, it’s gone the other way before too.

Maybe it’s because more men go into this field.
Well, yeah, that’s what’s raising questions. Why are there so many more men entering this field when we have no reason to believe men are naturally more interested than women. It was already addressed in an earlier post that there used to be a higher percentage of women going into CS (around double what we have now), and the decline is at least partially explained by cultural shifts that occurred around the creation of the personal computer, which just emphasizes how this is very much a cultural phenomenon, not a biological one.
As opposed to it being the fault of the evil patriarchy.
I never said it was. The Google ad that sparked this whole thing never said it was. Are there “journalists” on fringe sites that would claim some conspiracy by men to push women out? Sure, but that’s never been part of the conversation here.

Has anyone making claims like this actually watched much of what Disney is putting out? I mean, I haven’t personally seen everything, but the fact that movies like Zootopia and Ralph Breaks the Internet can tackle some pretty sensitive issues without painting people as bigots kind of shows that things are probably more complicated and less vitriolic than this.

How are Catholics being discriminated against? Are you actually reaching towards comparing SS couples in a movie to discrimination?

You’ve been treated like scum…for being Catholic, just like out of nowhere?

Fair, but that’s a two way street…not a one way.

You want clear examples of anti-catholic bigotry? How about last night’s Democrat debate “winner”:

The personality type that seems to be pushed for Catholic women, is the passive, shy, docile, retiring church mouse type.

Nothing wrong with that if that is the person’s natural personality. But women are individuals just like men.

In my opinion it’s both like @(name removed by moderator) mentioned.
Maybe with the advertising even if it was in some instances a purely commercial decision to appeal to more families with different views, even there I think advertising and movie making should not come without responsibility but I’m sure many of them wouldn’t agree if their values are just of chasing the dollar?

With the gay relationship characters actually in the movies though,I can’t see how this couldn’t be intentionally the movie makers values though as they have to go consciously go through the process of creating the characters etc so I’m my view this is always an agenda to push onto the children to see this as normalised.

Generally I think most Hollywood directors and actors see to lean towards pro gay relationships and anti traditional religious values etc but I don’t know how this has happened?
Ise:is it that directors are primarily only hiring actors/actresses that share their values or is it the culture of Hollywood itself etc…

Educate me I guess.

I’ve been with my Catholic wife for 20 years. Persecution and discrimination of Catholics has come up ~ zero times, so I apologize for my obliviousness.

I have a decent meme game too… 🙂

Well said.
Those who doubt the existence of the devil or the spiritual threat he presents need look no further than what is being force fed to children, in media and in public schools.

Seems like the resolution was rebuked…

I’d like to read more, do you have a link from a non-bias site?

I’m just wrapping up teaching in a summer camp for young writers. I’m happy to report that I haven’t read of even one same sex couple in the childrens’ stories, let alone “two daddies” or “mommies.” The boys’ stories are all space battles and such, and when I give out stickers the girls pick butterflies and unicorns.
It seems children are naturally resistant to the diabolical rot that infects contemporary culture.

Bingo…nail on the head.

They don’t have the same values as you, and they do believe it’s normal. They believe the characters are normal. They’re not trying to “push” children into thinking it’s “normalized”… A lot of us see SS couples on a daily basis or have them as friends. Not a big deal…so they add a couple in movie.

@tc3033

In my personal opinion,it isn’t necessarily in Kids movies (thankfully) but there is a climate of some of this in the general media now.
For example Taylor Swifts new song apparently is a bit derogatory to “people of faith” and the clip has characters playing “religious rednecks” who are painted to be uneducated and ignorant for not supporting gay marriage.
Or there’s another song by a young singer Zolita called Holy which is about her secret/taboo lesbian relationship in girls catholic school and the nuns are all painted as stern and disapproving, out of touch etc.

Sure, but it’s an opinion piece by a guy who’s a conservative that worked for Bush in the White House.

From what I found, there’s two extremely liberal senators that grasped at straws to block a judicial nominee who they knew would disagree with their side of the isle.

If he would have been a staunch right wing Lutheran they would have found something about his Lutheran background to grasp at.

So I wonder what she thinks of Islam. Or Orthodox Judaism. One can imagine! 😂
