Everyone’s missing the real problem. It wasn’t a problem of demographics or appealing to those who wanted to institutionalize evil (same-sex marriage, etc.).
The problem began with the efforts of the followers of the Enlightenment movement, who have gained control, in the last 40 years or so, over our educational system and our media, and now our government. They gained control over our educational system in order to indoctrinate our children into their way of thinking. They also purposely stopped teaching children to think critically, and therefore, to be able to think through problems and issues logically. These days, education is more about memorizing and regurgitating than real thinking. And to replace the need to think critically, they gained control over most of the national media, especially TV and Hollywood, so they could be brainwashed into what to think. Don’t believe me? Look at the demographics of where Obama got many of his votes. The youth! Hitler said that if you tell a lie loud enough, and long enough, pretty soon, everyone will come to believe it. Such has been the case with regard to abortion, artificial birth control, same-sex “marriage,” etc. And one of the biggest safeguards to this happening should have been the Church, except that the seminaries were infiltrated by those with other agendas, and we ended up with a lot of young men going through the seminaries without being formed spiritually or being taught the depth of the faith. They were taught, early on, not to “rock the boat.” So, we haven’t heard, for the most part, from the pulpit, how these things that are now generally accepted are evil. And catechesis has been so watered down as to be almost useless. CCD now stands more for “Color, Cut, and Draw.”
So, who what is this “Enlightenment movement?” It is a movement begun in France about three centuries ago as an attempt to create a society without God. It has given birth to Marxism, socialism, communism, etc. It has, as its three basic principles: 1. Secularism - that there is no God, or if there is, He’s totally uninterested in us. 2. Relativism - that there is no such thing as objective truth. Truth is merely your perspective or mine, which gives rise to the old lie, “Your truth” and “My truth.” 3. Individualism - that we are not responsible for anyone else, except as we consent. In other words, we are not our brother’s keeper.
