Yeah go figure …even the VATICAN has a dress code…if it is good enough for them it should be the standard that ALL Catholic Churchs strive for!

Someone, please let me know when drinking and dancing at weddings or anywehre else is abolished…and rock music. I have all the original Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Beatles, The Who, U2 albums…and I will need to know if I will need to bury them somewhere.

what does this have to do with MASS???

The saddest thing about this whole discussion is that there are FIVE PAGES of posts on it.

GO ahead, sit here, take comfort in the fact that you can sit back at your computer, and anonymously brow beat some woman who came to mass of all things not dressed as you all see fit. I know, it makes you feel better to sit back and nit pick at others whom you so easily classify as ‘one of the thoughtless generation’, when this woman could have been dressed in the the nicest thing she owned.

Maybe she shouldn’t have been dressed that way, but maybe she didn’t know better.

You all can’t use that excuse.

This should have ended Marilena with you saying a prayer for her and leaving it at that.

It’s probably best not to come onto women dressing in hot pants on a “Traditional Catholic” board if you feel this way. I don’t think anyone needed this “brow beating”, stick to your “your O.K. I’m O.K.” ideology, I’ll stick to the Catholic teaching on it, and yes that is THE LORD at the Altar, and there’s NOTHING wrong with kind correction to those that are defiling His house by dressing like hookers and slobs.

My brother is an ex hells angel and his girlfriend dresses the same way this person dressed. With the Lords help, how am I supposed to get him to come and stay in such an intolerate setting. because these people are not regulars in our church. he obviously did not know the dress code in our church. if he had been a regular, he would’ve known it. so would she have. i have never seen her or the people she was with in our church before.

This is probably what happened… The boyfriend or whoever brought her told her she looked fine before she left. Why did he not point it out before he brought her to this mass with the dress code. For all we know, this girl has never been to a mass in her life.

Of course it’s the man’s fault, he told her she looked fine so the poor women who is probably abused dressed like a prostitute to satisfy her perverted boyfriends fantasies, you nailed it…

Some posters feel it is acceptable to “bate” you and that is what most posts here are…
There is no need to explain yourself (over and over again to this small group of folks) most folks it would seem just dont get it!
But do not feel disheartend MANY of us do get it and can understand your concern, saddness etc!

You people make a lot of assumptions! I was only saying that a woman usually tries to dress appropriately. The OP made it sound like the man took her to church. He spoke english and she didnt. She made it sound like she was some sort of visitor to the area and he was familiar. What is your obsession with men being evil? You are incredibly jaded in some way, i can tell. No one would make these assumptions, so i dont know where you are getting this from.

When you speak about grown men and put them into the catagory of “spanking naughty boys” who is being degrading.
And no I do not listen to Dr. Laura. My attitude about men came from a strong and loving father along with my strong and loving husband.

My friend is a life long atheist first time he was in a church was for my sons baptism, he wore dockers and a nice collared shirt. EVERYONE knows not to dress like a hooker for Church, it’s simple common sense.

I’m not jaded I love women, I have no issues with women and have a great marriage to a great women who raises my kids and works very hard at that endeavor, watches football with me, and I watch Grey’s Anatomy with her, and she accepts the inherent differences between men and women…

We have discussion forums to validate or dismiss our ideas.
We then take them back to our parishes.

What I have gotten from this discussion is to go to our senior priest, who would have told this lady once she got to him to cover up, and suggest that we get some shawls to lend to visitors.

If you are not getting anything possitive out of this discussion, maybe this thread is not productive for you, but it is for me.
