I think I have been clear that I was talking about banning Muslims from entering the country (or vetting Muslim immigrants) wouldn’t have mattered in this case because Mateen was a US-born American citizen.

Trump has already learned the political adage to never let a good tragedy go to waste. After every shooting, I hear the arguements how proposed changes in gun laws would not have stopped this tragedy. Ironic how the same people do not see that the same reasoning applies to all this Muslim-banning. If people can buy illegal guns, do you not think that a terrorist could come in as something other than a Muslim?
