Interesting retort, but Judas was not destined to be a successor to Christ on Earth. I don’t think Christ would have suggested anyone remain in a Church that Judas was involved with.

Why didn’t this guy say anything until now, long after this story came out? Apparently he has been involved in inside baseball for quite a while. But he didn’t do anything until after the recent scandals already came out.

It seems he is just trying to kick the American Church and the Pope that replaced him and some other Bishops that he didn’t get along with while they are down after he got shown the door a few years ago.

This reeks of a personal agenda. He didn’t do anything until after this issue was already settled.
He isn’t a whistleblower. The whistle blew and now he is just getting his knocks in.

who are these other people who knew,
In an extraordinary 11-page written testament, a former apostolic nuncio to the United States has accused several senior prelates of complicity in covering up Archbishop

have they been named

Judas betrayed Christ, no different than McCarick, and no different (if this is true) than Pope Francis.

Of course, one could point to any of the “final Twelve” and make this same point. Peter denied Christ three times, but Jesus wouldn’t have us leave His Church over this.

Exactly. The first Pope was a guy who ran away from Christ while he was being falsely accused publicly and beaten.

Benedict confirmed that he disciplined McCarick - asked a Cardinal to - but he can’t remember the exact disciplinary measures taken.

my question was who are the other senior prelates, have they been named

Wasn’t he replaced as US ambassador …something about he had set up a meeting for Pope Francis with some court clerk in Kentucky…maybe he’s now out for revenge…I hope that Pope Francis will address this as it’s a personal attack on the Vicar of Christ…it needs to be cleared up

Let me check but I think Sodano,Bertone and sb else.
Yes, Card.Sodano,Bertone and Parolin.
That is what he seems to say.

Yeah, but by then the damage had been done. That was too little, too late. The world took note of the Konkordant, the later document was not widely broadcast. And the future Pius XII said privately they knew what Hitler was about when they signed it. They felt they had no choice, but when dealing with evil, you always have a choice.

I guess we all have our wants but more progressive than Francis is certainly not my prayer.

In his letter the Archbishop writes: " The seriousness of homosexual behavior must be denounced. The homosexual networks present in the Church must be eradicated, as Janet Smith, Professor of Moral Theology at the Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit, recently wrote. “ The problem of clergy abuse, ” she wrote, “ cannot be resolved simply by the resignation of some bishops, and even less so by bureaucratic directives. The deeper problem lies in homosexual networks within the clergy which must be eradicated. ” These homosexual networks, which are now widespread in many dioceses, seminaries, religious orders, etc., act under the concealment of secrecy and lies with the power of octopus tentacles, and strangle innocent victims and priestly vocations, and are strangling the entire Church."
