Here is a story happening 3 years before George Floyd, I’m trying to digest this (the article erroneously says this with George Floyd happened in Milwaukee which we know is wrong). This below story happened in AZ. Some of these stories sound worse than ones we hear about actually and in saying that, I have seen other cases with whites and Hispanics, so racism may exist but it certainly is not the only factor to consider. I’d like to know more about this story below because it sounds really bad. This just came out.

New footage shows US police mocking African-American man’s Muslim faith before killing him

Horrifying footage has been released showing police officers in the US state of Arizona mocking an African-American Muslim man’s faith shortly before killing him in an incident very similar to the 2020 murder of George Floyd in Milwaukee.

Muslim Advocates, an American civil rights organization, uploaded the footage, taken by the bodycam of one of the officers involved, to YouTube on Thursday. It shows 43-year-old Muhammad Abdul Muhaymin Jr., being restrained by police officers and calling out to Allah as a police officer places a knee on his neck.

Like George Floyd nearly three years afterwards, Muhaymin also tells the police officers that he can’t breathe.

Either there is no institutional racism, or If there is, progressives In charge of these institutions are responsible For it.
Okay.

And, if the Republicans have anti-immigrant policies and racists in positions of power and throw out racist dog whistles, we have evidence of simply a country that has not overcome it’s racist past.

And, if the Republicans have anti-immigrant policies
There might be some who are anti-immigrant. That is not racism.
There are clearly many opposed to foreign nationals here illegally, that is neither racist nor anti-immigrant.
racists in positions of power and throw out racist dog whistles
Do you mean like one is not black if they don’t vote for Biden?
If some are racist, we won’t have to rely on the nebulous accusations of “dog whistle”. One just recently lost his primary. He has previously lost all his committee assignments.
we have evidence of simply a country that has not overcome it’s racist past.
No, we have evidence of a political movement using race to try to divide and trivialize America in order to impose a leftist authoritarian regime.
The overwhelming majority of Americans have overcome racism. The few who haven’t are represented by both sides at Charlottesville

This is simple. It is progressives, even on this forum, who have decided without all the evidence that the cop is guilty. I’m willing to wait for the evidence.
Oh me, too. Innocence just looks far-fetched at this point, but hopefully the courts can work this out without any lies or deception involved.
As for progressive run cities, the fact Is that is where this always happens.
Democrats tend to cluster in urban areas. I don’t trust any politician to run them.

But the Right needs to stop this silly thinking that every time a cop does something good, they get the credit, and every time a cop does something bad, it’s the Democrats’ fault. Shifting the blame for sin is unbecoming to us as Catholics and as Americans.
Democrat politicians are directly responsible for the culture and practices of their agents
Which Democrat in Kenosha ordered the officer to shoot an unarmed man in the back seven times? And didn’t we give up that whole just-following-orders canard at Nuremberg?
Or, we wait to find out if racism was involved on a personal level by the officer. If there was, then it is personal and not institutional.
How do you figure? If Democrats can “set the culture” for the police force, why can’t the police force itself?

For the record, I don’t know if the cop had racist thoughts at the time. I’m not a mind reader, and racism occurs passive-aggressively, i.e. deliberately made difficult to call out.
It was his knee, and it was brutal and cruel and beyond reason, but that isn’t what killed Floyd, according to the coroner.
Which coroner? There was more than one autopsy. The independent one directly implicates the officer.

Nobody “asks for” rioting and looting, destroying the property of innocent citizens, many of whom are people of color.
The rioters at least do not pretend to abide by the law. What they are doing is against the law, they know it and everyone knows it.

A cop brutalizes someone which is not part of police procedure and they get away with it.

The latter is more dangerous.

In our first fact-check, we spoke with Otto Coca, spokesperson for the Ellis Island Honors Society, which administers the award. The society promotes diversity and understanding among religious and ethnic groups, as well as the restoration and maintenance of Ellis Island.

Coca told us that Trump was one of several people to be awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor in 1986 – the first year it was given (and the same year Parks and Ali were also recipients). Trump was chosen for professional contributions that benefited New York City as a developer, as well as for his German heritage.

Oh, in terms of a non-biased source before 1990 showing Trump’s racism, how about the 1973 consent decree with the DOJ about problems not renting to Black people?

from calling 1) Mexican immigrants criminals and rapists, to 2) proposing a ban on all Muslims entering the US, to 3)suggesting a judge should recuse himself from a case solely because of the judge’s Mexican heritage.
1). True. There are criminals and rapists among those coming here illegally. Not racist
2) also not racist. And the implementation of policy was not a van, and not targeted at Muslims, over 90% of whom were not covered by the restrictions.
3) not racist. This is a personal attack. It was uncalled for and undeserved, but not racist.
From 4)stereotyping a Black reporter to 5) pandering to white supremacists after they held a violent rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, to 6) making a joke about the Trail of Tears
  1. please. The entire progressive movement is about stereotyping. “White privilege”. “Institutional racism”. “White Fragility”.
  2. flat out lie. He did not pander your white supremacists In fact, they were the only ones he called out for condemnation.
  3. the link is behind an NYT paywall, and I won’t pay them a plug nickel since they’ve dabbled in their own racist writings.

Yes, going back 47 tears to a business run by his father when, unfortunately, this kind of thinking was mainstream.

And how did Biden think back then?

Was he pro-segregation?

Don’t hold one’s breath on this.

I think that the government suing him for residential discrimination in housing in the seventies is an allegation of racism from an unbiased source. If you think he was not convicted, do you think the media was not convicted of libeling the young Sandmann as to his DC MAGA hat pictures? Both cases ended in settlement.

Impugning a judge’s impartiality on the basis of his ethnicity because “He’s a Mexican”, is a racist mind-set. “In an interview, Mr. Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel had “an absolute conflict” in presiding over the litigation given that he was “of Mexican heritage” and a member of a Latino lawyers’ association.”

Again, so-called reproductive rights supported so much by the Democrat party may see half of all African American unborn aborted shows what the Republicans have done to be an absolute cake walk. Then, if one wants to amnesty those in our country without documentation, AA’s percentage of the population falls even more. Some friends.

And we witness again, Democrat strongholds are the places with strife, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, I assume Kenosha.

Unrest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, we have progressed so far as to accuse the president of racism in this thread. My, my!

Herschel Walker, Diamond and Silk, Leo Terrel, Larry Elder. These accusations need not even be dignified

And if we go back in history, 47 years, why not go back 60, 70 years. How is the Democratic record on that?

Are you able to answer my question, or just ignoring it?

Investigators found the knife in the footwell of the vehicle, and Blake confirmed to investigators that he was in possession of a knife, Kaul said.
Blake never reached downward, and the officer never looked downward, let alone into the vehicle to see it. A knife on the floor out of reach is not a valid reason to shoot an unarmed man in the back seven times.
And we witness again, Democrat strongholds are the places with strife, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, I assume Kenosha.
Why does a cop get the credit when doing a good thing, but Democrats get the blame when a cop does a bad thing? Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

100% pure garbage. If Trump was such a racist, where are all the black people with complaints against him? All of this is just attribution of racism for things that were not racism at all (like banning immigration by WHITE Arab Muslims temporarily, while not banning immigration by black and brown Muslims)

Generally, those are “pattern” offenses that don’t necessarily reflect anything other than failure to ensure that one meets a racial quota. Bank examinations have that. When I was in banking, the examiners combed through our loan files (including loans turned down, which we had to keep record of) to see if our loans to minority groups were as high as the percentage of minorities in the communities where we did business. The same was true of our hiring.

If we didn’t meet the quotas, we were criticized. If it kept happening, we would be fined. It was a way to force the bank to engage in affirmative action without saying so.
