.It really very sad that it’s more important to get rid of Trump than to actually take the time to realize he is the best option,
His actions have been prolife, and that’s terminal with most Democrats. They won’t forgive that no matter what he does.

The lies that were spewed last week by the Dems were pretty abundant.

Herschel Walker, Nikki Haley, Maximo Alverez, Sen Tim Scott. That was last night. As for the rest of the week, they’re not listing the races of the speakers.

Please don’t focus on the negative. There were a lot of good things said by these people.

My experience has been that conservative blacks are looked down upon within the black community…called “Uncle Tom’s”, derided, etc. Then people say “Hey, see how there so few black republicans.”
Right, now there is that movie called that (sorry if I am repeating something someone said), it is available to see on the web.

You know, I don’t doubt that.

But saying good things against a backdrop of the Republicans have no platform and just assent to whatever Trump says on any given day is deeply troubling, and frankly disqualifying.

We know who Trump is, and that the Republican are so all in with him they don’t believe anything on their own. That’s enough for me.

That why I left the Republican Party.

I truly don’t understand why Mitt Romney who seems like a good and decent person isn’t the face of the Republican Party.

He gets called a Rino.

He’s the type of Republican I agreed with more or less.

I’m not a Trump Republican.

So I left.

Lot of broad brushing here.
Republicans have no platform
I think the Republican Platform is pretty clear. I think the good Trump has done for this country is pretty clear. You may not like the man personally, but his most of his policies have been good.

This comes closest to how I feel about political conventions. They seem to revel in phoniness.

Yet the Republican decision this year to adopt no policy platform whatsoever shines a light on the democratic significance of the exercise — and the alarming vacuity of the Republican Party under President Trump. The Republicans are announcing that they stand for nothing. The party’s only reason for being is to gain and retain power for itself and its comparably unprincipled leader.

Black Republicans? Mike Steele (former head of the RNC) and JC Watts (former congressman) both announced that they cannot support Trump. Nor does Republican Colin Powell.

None of those three, to my knowledge, has been called an uncredentialed opportunist token or an Uncle Tom. (Don’t listen to Belafonte) Now, compare them to the black folks who spoke at the convention. Saving Tim Scott, they are not a very authoritative bunch.

I post this because I think it’s funny and good for a laugh, not to make fun of either of the women:

Opinion piece.

I challenge your stance that you can’t possibly know what the Republicans stand for anymore than I know what the Democrats stand for.

His health care policies aren’t very good. He’s trying to have the whole Affordable Care Act thrown out, but doesn’t have any replacement ready should the Supreme Court agree to do so. Millions of people would lose health insurance coverage including all those people covered by the expansion of Medicaid in 39 states, many of them Republican states. And doing this in the middle of a pandemic is even more irresponsible. I would be hurt if the whole ACA is thrown out. It would totally destabilize health care in the US.

If you support Romney, then yes the Dem party is a much better fit for you.

It’s hard for me to believe what you assert. You rarely if ever, say a thing negative regardng the Dems,in fact you seem to support them universally.
Don’t get me wrong there are many who say they are former republicans but left because of Trump.Personally,I don’t buy it🤨

Here is what the Democrats stand for. I am not a Democrat. I don’t agree with parts of the party platform. But, there it is for you to agree or disagree with.

There is no similar Republican document. They didn’t produce one.
Trump has totally appropriated and consumed the Republican Party. They should just rename themselves the “Trump Party.” Their platform is Trumpism which includes anything Trump says it includes.
