Reading through these posts it is apparent we are polarized and have nearly lost the ability to have civil discourse. We need to focus on root causes and not get hung up treating symptoms. Politics is a noble (yes it is) endeavor but it is very very difficult. It cannot accomplish what we need to accomplish. The next revolution has to be internal… spiritual. We need to convert hearts, minds and souls to Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. We get hung up on abortion and other political issues… but the answer is we need to live in a world where people don’t want abotions. (They had them before Roe v Wade didn’t they) A world where people want to be nice and good. We can still have fun. But even then, cynicism creeps in, someone will say "so and so is so nicy nice it makes me sick. Or like the famous Mae West quote, “if you don’t have anything nice to say… sit next to me…”
Education, evangelization and enlightenment are the key. Educated people (including a focus on the virtues) in general, do fewer stupid things.
The Matrix:
Faith - Hope - Love
Confidence - Motivation - Passion
Education - Evangelization - Enlightenment
We can do it. It’s not impossible.
What if the 60,000 denominations of Christians were one.
Think about it. It will happen. It is inevitable.
So the point is: politics is a noble endeavor, try your best to do the most but don’t think it can ever come close what we want and are looking for. That is not of this earth…
