Wouldn’t that be something: black tunic, scapular, capelet and white veil with co-mingled Star of David and Cross.

But couldn’t this just be the postulant/novice form of the professed sister’s habit, the final look of which is still unknown:nun1:?

Charisms and habits evolve. She started off with blue Carmelite, and last I heard had something like Benedictine. But this almost shows reverse Nashville Dominican (upon which the Sisters of Life based theirs).

Don’t anyone quote me on that–it’s pure speculation!

**I really liked the new, possibly, religious habit, Rosiland is wearing. And yes indeed, it does look much like that of the Sisters of Life. The religious community in Birmingham, is half dominican and franciscan. They wear the tunic and veil of the Dominican, and they wear the, scapular, rope,(3 knots), and rosary, of the Franciscan. The cross they wear is that of the San Diamono Crucifix. I believe they are called, Sister Servants of the Eternal Word.
I wouldn’t mind doing a a come and see with Rosiland Moss’s community. I can walk pretty far. However, I wish to have a stability in the community, and a prayer life. I pray all goes well for her, and vocations will again come in when she wants them too.

But for now, I will discern with the 3 communities He seems to be drawing me to.🙂

Much Love to all, and Blessings,

ClareTherese:D:highprayer:

Sister Rosalind was on Catholic Answers radio again today.

I think her main message was to ensure all of us that there is absolutely no problem with her community. She has everything ready to go. All she needs is a bishop and as of today there is no bishop yet. Sister is learning patience and we must learn patience also.
She also mentioned previously that she will not be wearing the habit until she is blessed by the bishop. What she is wearing now is just the postulant “garb”. She did not want us to use the word habit.
The best thing you can do for sister and her community is to pray for the arrival of the bishop. :gopray2::highprayer::nun1:

****Truthfully in St.Louis, Mo., what is taking so long for them to get a Bishop? We have many Bishop’s here in N.California, and S.Caliifornia?

If that is the postulant garb, then is the veil white, and the tunic/jumper, black or dark blue? I wish she will chose another color, besides black. I think since she is jewish, and she converted into Catholicism, she should wear something of a Blue color, with a cream,
colored tunic. The beautiful Crucifix, with the Star of David, either on the cross, Or on the other side, would be beautiful.🙂

The Franciscan Daughters of Mary, wear a beautiful habit.

As do the Sisters Servants of Our Lord and the Virgin of Matara. Their community has no age limit, is Active/Contemplative, with a missionary zeal. Their habit consists of: 1) Postulants–white blouse and very, long, grey skirt. 2) Novice’s–recieving of the Habit. Grey, long. tunic; blue scapular; white hair covering; and white, long veil. They also recieve their Religious Name. 3) Temp.Professed, recieve the long, blue veil. And 4) Solemn Profession. They recieve the crucifix, that is from Spain, originally carved in wood, but is now metal. On it, it has Christ’s suffering, and Latin words. I was drawn to this community. They have a contemplative order in New York. But you may not enter it, until after your Solemn Profession, I believe. You can find them in The Guide to Religious Ministries. If you live in Northern California, especially near Santa Clara, Ca., their are Sisters at Our Lady of Peace Shrine and Church.

Every summer, in July, they have a 3 week kids camp, at the church. This Church is very Beautiful!!! Very Franciscan if you look at the altar. And very old fashioned. You come up to the communion rail, to recieve communion. The Altar Servers, dress in the traditional, black and white, or red and white. Only the priests and deacons, hand out communion. This Parish is very Large, and Multi-Cultural. Their are Many masses. Too many to count.
But every summer, the Postulants and Novice’s, come from Wash, D.C., and help out the sisters at the camp. This community has many Superior’s.

If Sr. Rosalind choose a black and white habit, honestly, she be more Benedictine, than anything else. She should stay with a Blue, in Honour of Our Lady. Because the name of her community, relates to Mary, Our Mother. Of course this is my point of view.

Well, I have said enough. I am having a hard time discerning with one of the communities I am email too. Please keep me in your Prayers, as everyone is in mine.👍

Possibly all-black Carmelite, except the toque (whitework) around the face. I think that’s what’s going to be done–from the sound of it.

Charisms and habits evolve. Just give her the charity of prayer.

Blessings,
Cloisters

I am praying that Sr. Rosalind gets her order up and running soon. We is such a blessing!

Our Archdiosese is a little worried that we might lose our Archbishop to St. Louis. He is Archbishop Nauman and originally from St. Louis. The rumor has been circulating that he will be sent there, but we’re praying they find someone else. He is such a wonderful man and we would be very sorry to lose him.

I spoke with Sr. Rosalind today on the phone. She prefers that correspondence be sent to the convent via regular mail.

Thanks & blessings,
Cloisters

My chat with her was on a foundress-to-foundress basis. Cloister Outreach is not her intermediary. If inquirers/aspirants wish more information, please contact her directly. I have that straight from her.

She did receive the postulant garb in an official ceremony, and the archdiocese does consider her a postulant in her own order. Her training, however, is on hold until the new archbishop is assigned. Please pray for a good one!

Blessings,
Cloisters

You are a gem. Thank you for your loving updates!
I agree. Sister needs prayer from all of us posters at CA.

Dear Saints Simeon and Anna (who were waiting so patiently for the arrival of Jesus at the temple)
Sister Rosalind has chosen your feast day for her new community. Please hold Sister Rosalind closely as she patiently awaits her new archbishop. Waiting is so difficult. We are as eager as children on Christmas eve as we wait for the announcement. Good things come to those who wait. Sister Rosalind is becoming purified during this long wait just as you were growing in sainthood during your wait. Could you put in a word to God that Rosalind isn’t getting any younger and would sure like to serve the church while she is still in good health. Thank you Anna and Simeon.

:okpeople::shamrock2: Sister Rosalind Alert

Tomorrow, March 18 Sister Rosalind will be on Catholic Radio

4:00PM Pacific time

Does anyone out there listen to the Catholic Answers radio shows? This forum was founded by Catholic Answers…just like the daily 2 hour radio shows. If you do not have Catholic radio near you it is possible to listen right here on the net.

Prayer for Sister Rosalind:

Dear Saint Patrick,
Irish are known for their gift of the gab. Please use that gift today to ask Jesus to lead the best possible Archbishop to St Louis. Maybe you could put a beautiful rainbow in the sky that leads to the cathedral in St Louis. Inspire the Archbishop to follow the rainbow and help Sister Rosalind get her show on the road. The pot of gold in St Louis is Sister Rosalind. Give her the opportunity to spread the wealth.

Maybe most of you have noticed this already, but Ros’ website now has a beautiful home page with a depiction of the Presentation of Our Lord. There is notation that the website is still being developed.

Slowly but surely! 🙂

Don't miss her scheduled appearance on CA radio Wednesday April 1 at 3:00PM Pacific........no fooling!

I haven't heard any news about a new archbishop for St Louis so there may not be any changes for her community. Have you all been praying for the new archbishop?

Today my prayer will be to St Anna who was present at the Presentation of Christ:
Dear St Anna,
You are so patient. You fasted and prayed every day for decades waiting for Jesus to come to the temple. Please show Sister Rosalind and all of us here how to be patient. Twice a month I announce Sister Rosalind's radio show hoping that "this time" she will announce the official opening date for her community. I think you were about 87 years old when Jesus finally appeared at the temple. Please ask Jesus to bring an archbishop to St Louis before Sister turns 67. If we have to wait until she is 87 we will all be wearing a halo. :getholy:

Wednesday is From The Heart at 3 PM and as - yet no new Archbishop for St.Louis
:crossrc::gopray2:

Yes, tomorrow Sr Rosalind Moss is scheduled to be on Catholic Answers radio. Every other week she is on at 3:00PM Pacific time but the weeks in between she is usually on at 4:00PM Pacific time. Tomorrow is one of those times she is scheduled for the 4:00 spot. She shares the rotation with the chaplin of Catholic Answers.
So…:(…no new Archbishop yet.

Time for a new prayer:

How about choosing “Archbishop” Sheen:) He is up there in heaven with a good view of all the possible picks. Since he is on his way to sainthood, God willing, let’s ask for his intercession.

Dear Archbishop Sheen,
As a child I used to watch your very informative show on network television. Even my Protestant anti-Catholic relatives would come over and gather round the TV to see you. You were one of our best evangelizers for the Catholic church. Sr Rosalind would like to follow in your footsteps and evangelize to the people on the streets of St Louis. (St Louis is not that far from your home town) However, she can’t do it until a new Archbishop is appointed that can bless her new community. Please ask God to send an Archbishop to St Louis who you would approve of. Do you see one that would fit the bill? Time is of the essence. Thank you, Archbishop. We, in turn, will pray that you become a Cannonized Saint in our lifetime.:highprayer:

Bishop Hermann who is the auxilary bishop for the Archdiocese is acting as administrator.
It has been said that if the sede vacante is functioning well, there is no hurry to replace the administrator. If there are problems, then a new bishop/archbishop is appointed fairly quickly. Archbishop Burke left St. Louis in very good order and his auxilary is following his footsteps in all things. He is regularly is seen in front the abortion mill praying the rosary for an end to abortions. If you keep tabs, there have been several dioceses that have had administrators for longer than a year. Birmingham being one of them. It was almost two years before a new bishop was appointed there. There have been many more in the last few years. It has been said that Pope Benedict is much more involved in the selection of bishops than his predecessor. And since he is vacationing this week at Casa Gandolpho, there may not be any thing done this week either. I would suspect that it will be June before any announcement will be made regarding a replacement for Archbishop Burke. There are only a hand full of priests who are cut out of the cloth of Archbishop Burke.

On another note, there has been various opinions put forth here regarding the habit of the new community and what the sisters will wear, etc. What Sister Rosalind is wearing is what she calls a “postulant garb”, not a habit. She has been very vocal about this. A postulant (usually a term used for females only) is a person who has come to a community to “postulate” about whether or not she is called to that particular community. Sister Rosalind by defining what she is wearing as a postulant garb would also be “postulating” about whether or not she is called to this as well.

Years ago when I asked our abbess when she knew a particular religious really had a vocation to the monastery she answered very succinctly “When she is buried here, then we know.”

Please continue to pray for all concerned, for their discernment and God’s will to be made manifest. :nun2: :gopray2:
