Thank you Bishop Sheen for looking down from heaven and picking an ā€œoutspoken defender of human lifeā€ for Sister Rosilands diocese.

Now things should start happening.

Sorry Sister Rosalind for my spelling mistake above:blush: It was very early here on the west coast when I heard your exciting news.

Praised be Jesus Christ now and forever! Thank you, Bishop Sheen!

Let us hope the appointment of Bishop Carlson will be a true blessing for the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel’s Hope, and that he will soon have the new community on its way to the point of being able to accept postulants and begin formation in earnest. šŸ‘

Dear Rosalind, may God bless you and your hopes for the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel’s hope in the appointment of Bishop Carlson. Many blessings to you, and I keep you in my prayers.

Sister Rosalind is on the Covenant Network fund drive right now (St. Louis Catholic Radio station). She will likely be on for awhile. She is discussing the new Archbishop elect and sounds thrilled.

You can listen live at the following link

May God be praised for answering all of the prayers on Sister Rosalind’s behalf. Canon Law requires that the new Bishop be installed within two months of appointment. Once Bishop Carlson is installed, then things can move forward accordingly. Very interesting time framework, and I believe that Archbishop Burke had much to do with the new appointment.
So many similarities in their episcopal administration. Please continue your prayers on Sister’s behalf. Soon to be Archbishop Carlson still has to decide regarding the community moving forward.

Let’s hope and pray that Sister Rosalind will meet with Archbishop Carlson soon, and that her community will be established!

yipee! i am excited for Sister Rosalind and for her community? How many are in the postulancy already?

Sister Rosalind is the only one at the present time. And until the new Archbishop approves going forward, she will not be able to receive anyone. Please storm heaven prayer warriors.

Bishop Carlson has an amazing track record for fostering vocations where ever he goes. In 2007 he ordained a seventy-five year old, holy man of God, to the priesthood. We will miss his Excellency dearly here at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw. A great work of reform and renewal was begun by Bishop Carlson. Please remember us in your prayers as we will remember you in ours.

:console:Thank you for letting your Beloved Bishop take on this very important mission of filling Archbishop Burke’s shoes. Sister Rosalind must be feeling so grateful for your sacrifice. :blessyou:

Since Bishop Carlson ordained a seventy-five year old man to the priesthood, that may well be a sign that as Archbishop of St. Louis he will look kindly on Rosalind’s wish to found a community at the age of sixty-five šŸ‘. . . or is it sixty-six? Anyway, as a sixty-two year old who has been given a vocation to religious life, I hope and pray that Bishop Carlson will be a great support to Rosalind and the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel’s Hope. Let us all re-double our prayer efforts on behalf of Rosalind and her dream for a community with no upper age limit. šŸ™‚

Sweet Mother Mary, Israel’s Hope, pray for us!

Good idea!

The new Bishop’s name is Robert. St Robert Bellarmine helped St Francis de Sales obtain formal approval for an order of nuns called the Visitation order. I’ve never prayed to St Bellarmine before but I think he might be an influencial saint in the department of founding orders and communities.šŸ˜‰

Dear St Robert Bellarmine,
You know what it takes to get a new community of nuns started. Sister Rosalind has finally been gifted with a wonderful new bishop with your name. Please intercede for Bishop Robert in St Louis. He could use your guidance during this time of transition for him. Sister had mentioned early in her planning stages for her community that St Francis de Sales was going to be her community's patron. Please help Sister Rosalind as lovingly as you helped St Francis de Sales. Oh, by the way, could you tell Archbishop Sheen "Thank you" for choosing Bishop Robert for St Louis.

Wonderful idea! I just last weekend made a beautiful quiet retreat at St. Robert Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat Center in Barrington, Illinois.

St. Robert Bellarmine, St. Francis de Sales, and St. Jane de Chantal, please pray for Bishop Carlson as he enters upon his new responsibilities in St. Louis. Please pray that the new bishop may look kindly on Sr. Rosalind and her endeavors. šŸ‘ All you holy saints and angels, pray that the new Archbishop Carlson will be a true friend of Sr. Rosalind and the Daughters of Mary, Mother of Israel’s Hope as they work together to do the will of Our Lord in all things. Amen. :highprayer:

Good news and not as good news!
The good news is that Sister Rosalind is ecstatically happy and is going to be spending a year in a monastery in Massachusetts learning the ways of the Visitation Sisters. St Francis de Sales is the founder of this order and St Francis is the chosen patron for Sister Rosalind’s new order.

The not as good news is we will not have any more news on this thread for a whole year. I’m not even sure how to dig this thread up again after a year in cobwebs.

After the year of prayer, Sister will be accepting applications for her new community in St Louis. I’m sure all of her faithful friends here on CA will be remembering her in their prayers. Saint Anna, help us be patient until we meet again.

Does this mean that the new Archbishop has also given her his approval? What happens to the house she had found for the Community’s use? And her website? No public speaking? No EWTN or Catholic Answers Live?

Visitation Sisters are a very good order for her to stay with. They very much do follow St Francis de Sales. I had a friend who had been in the beginning stages of entering this order, but stayed at a different monastery until she returned home for personal reasons.

I am praying for Sr Rosalind, definitely. A year can be fast… but for those of us waiting to hear how things are going, it can also be dreadfully slow. I may go into withdrawal.

Thanks!

PS As for how to save this… you can subscribe to it, OR save an email from this thread for the exact location for future reference… Label it, create a folder for it, or flag it so you don’t lose it in your inbox. Not sure how your email works.

My ā€œguessā€ is that she will not be on Catholic Answers while she is with the Visitation Sisters. I don’t remember that subject being brought up last Wednesday. Her appearances on EWTN are already ā€œin the canā€ so they will be seen and repeated while she is gone.
Sister Rosalind mentioned that she had not yet met the bishop. She will not have time to have the convent blessed before she leaves.
Someone is in charge of the website which should be officially online in a few weeks. If any of you see the active website I hope you let us know about it.

May God grant Sister Rosalind a good year of formation and may all of us continue to pray for whatever God has for her.

May St. Jane de Chantal, co-foundress of the Visitation, pray for Rosalind, and for all of those who await her return. May Our Lord shower her with His blessings during this time and may Our Lady hold her in the palm of Her hand!

ā€œDoes this mean that the new Archbishop has also given her his approval?ā€

Archbishop Carlson will not be installed until June 10th. He has no power to effect anything until after his installation. He goes to Rome less that 2 weeks later to receive the Pallium. Sister Rosalind will be either be in France or the Monastery by then. She will have to wait
for the year of formation to begin again unless she decides not to complete her year of formation. I pray God that she will stay the year…a house built on a good foundation can weather all storms. We do not know what the future holds and religious usually are the first to suffer is there is any major sift in the secular world.

Again, may God grant her all the graces and strength to complete this year so that she can then begin to form others as she has been formed.
