Yes the reason she has received so many votes compared to Bernie and even Donald Trump must be because the Democratic electorate doesn’t like her much. That makes total sense.
Future Hillary bio-pic?

  • She’s running against a non-Democrat
  • in HER own party and
  • is on a losing streak.
NOT counting the “superdelegates” (party people with a delegate vote) the delegate count so far would be

Hillary 1287 Bernie 1037.

IN Superdelegates its

Hillary 469 Bernie 31

Is the Sanders Campaign Doomed by Superdelegates?
Following Bernie Sanders’ victory in the New Hampshire primary,
concern about “superdelegates” swept across social media.
(NOTE: Totals below have changed since this 2/11/2016 article)

The regular delegates that the candidates have earned so far must vote at the convention as their states did: 36 will back Sanders, 32 will back Clinton. The
** superdelegates can vote for whomever they want, regardless of the results of the elections*** that have taken place so far.
And it’s true that of 712 superdelegates that will cast their votes at the Democratic National Convention in 2016, 362 of them have already said that they support Clinton, according to an Associated Press analysis. Sanders has eight.
Vice pointed out that while superdelegates pledged initial support to Clinton’s campaign, there was no reason to expect they’d remain steadfast should the primaries swing more in Sanders’ favor:
If this streak continues … could that happen?
🤷 I still say more of Bernie’s votes are anti-Hillary votes. Who heard of him in many of the states he’s winning before this primary? Were folks in Wyoming REALLY yearning for that Socialist/Independent guy to get into the race because they loved him “even more” than they loved Hillary? :dts:
Other possibilities: Everybody loves Larry David’s Bernie Sanders impression … and don’t want THAT show cancelled.
Hillary’s broad support (no pun intended) is miles wide but just centimeters deep. If the latest results are any indication.

Just as many Catholics are engaging in premarital sex, abortion, adultery, divorce, and contraception as Democrats.

As for nuns paying for contraception, so do chaste single lay people and elderly widows, or who have put their sexual lives behind them, or don’t need contraceptives because of age. So do men. That’s the way it works in a democracy. People pay taxes for things they do not really believe in or need to help others. Nuns and contraceptives are a tempest in a teapot.
Lily, sometimes you say something that I’d never given a thought of.

I don’t have an example.
In other words, of all the economic policies that he talking about in this campaign, there are none that we would reject based on Church teaching regarding socialism. If that is the case, then why is his socialism a relevant issue?

The Church condemns socialism in general.

Can someone help me out on how every other Catholic organization found a way to deal with this issue except for the Little Sisters?
Oh boy after watching one poster waiting for an answer on how Sander’s economic policies are against Church teaching, now this. 🍿

I really don’t understand this. I hope someone will enlighten me.

Sanders isn’t really a part of that ***** *(that I know of - per Vermont I (too) am a bit of a low information person). *

But the Sisters are not alone if that was your impression.

And some courts haven’t seen the “wall of seperation” between Church and State as a thing the STATE can’t traverse and (*in the lexicon of the much offended anti-religionists) *“force their beliefs upon people”.

Some Catholic organizations may HAVE caved in - in one way or another. But
“every other Catholic organization has found a way to deal with this issue …”
implying to my ear that ALL these NOW support that which they once found at least troublesome … is at very least a breathtaking overstatement. AS is …
" … except for the Little Sisters of the Poor."
Though they are exceptional IMO.
WHY not JUST let them alone to HELP people in THEIR hospitals? IMO.

** - Senator Sanders DID vote for Obamacare I presume. But I don’t think he had anything to do with trying to force Religious groups to violate their consciences. That’d be the Obama HHS Department.*

Bernie has caucused in the Senate with the Democrats. I had heard of him. My state voted big for Hillary. In a landslide. I still voted for Bernie.

You’re overlooking the popular vote. I’m not sure what it is now after winning the state of Wyoming where there are relatively few Democrats. But as of just the other wk Hillary had 2.5 million more votes than Bernie. I don’t know why all the fuss on CAF about Democratic Party superdelegates. I suppose it might be because many here oppose Hillary as much as they do Obama. But delegates just follow the lead of voters in Democratic Party primaries and caucuses. The irony is Republicans have their own version of superdelgates called unbound. Fewer numbers yes. But those few could have a substantial impact on who the Republican nominee is. But if Bernie surpasses Hillary in votes or the popular vote gets a lot closer, then the Democratic superdelegates could switch. They are not bound. But here. This might help provide a better understanding.

Which state are you from?

I appreciate the reply, but as far as I know, the Little Sisters may close their doors, whereas I don’t hear about Notre Dame closing. Am I misunderstanding something?
