Why should I pay for them? I’m not out fornicating. It’s the price we pay for living in a democracy.
And Catholics Should remember we live in a democracy when they see travesties like this taking place -especially those who voted for those who put this law in effect

If you take a look at the results since January, you might be able to narrow it down. Obviously rule out the states Bernie has won and rule out Iowa since it was a virtual tie.
I assume you are from a Southern state of the old Confederacy.

Bernie has caucused in the Senate with the Democrats. I had heard of him. My state voted big for Hillary. In a landslide. I still voted for Bernie.

You’re overlooking the popular vote. I’m not sure what it is now after winning the state of Wyoming where there are relatively few Democrats. But as of just the other wk Hillary had 2.5 million more votes than Bernie. I don’t know why all the fuss on CAF about Democratic Party superdelegates. I suppose it might be because many here oppose Hillary as much as they do Obama. But delegates just follow the lead of voters in Democratic Party primaries and caucuses. The irony is Republicans have their own version of superdelgates called unbound. Fewer numbers yes. But those few could have a substantial impact on who the Republican nominee is. But if Bernie surpasses Hillary in votes or the popular vote gets a lot closer, then the Democratic superdelegates could switch. They are not bound. But here. This might help provide a better understanding.

I knew that he’d caucused with the Democrats. But for some reason kept that Independent tag as well as openly being recognized as a “Socialist”.

You made some other points I agreed with … how relevant is winning a state your party won’t win in the general election (most times) … well … quite relevant per the nomination anyway. < Goes for both parties in that regard.

Per BOTH parties I also wonder about how many absentee ballots are cast WAY before election day in these primaries. Do entire groups batch their votes at meetings and mail them in to ensure victories (even in primaries)?

Thanks for that link.

Bernie said he didn’t believe in charities. Here is the link:wnd.com/2016/04/bernie-sanders-i-dont-believe-in-charities/
Thank you for this. Well, I certainly don’t agree; but perhaps he has evolved on this issue. Did you read about what he accomplished in his eight years as mayor of Burlington, Vermont? It is quite impressive. He fought for tenants’ rights and affordable housing, cable-TV competition, child care, women’s rights, environmental protection, youth programs, and the arts, and revitalized Burlington’s economy as a successful, thriving city.

Sanders still supports gun manufacturers against lawsuits, to the dismay of many liberals but to the delight of some conservatives.

His record as Mayor as well as Congressman can handle a few missteps.

We are constantly reminded we have to remember he is lying when he says he is a socialist

I didn’t read that, but I am not surprised that he did that stuff as mayor.

Or it could be that what he means when he says socialist is different than what the Church is talking about when it condemns socialism.

Or that Sanders has reinvented himself as a different kind of socialist than what he believed in earlier in his career.
Or it Could be he really is a socialist and that Catholic supporters of him are trying to rationalize supporting him in spite of it . Of course a Catholic Sanders supporter has a lot more to rationalize and than just aaahis socialism

In the democratic primary, voters don’t have to rationalize about his position on abortion because it is no different than Hillary’s position. So the question remains, could a Catholic vote for Bernie in the primary? Since he has not espoused any economic viewpoints that violate Church teaching on socialism, then I cannot see a barrier for voting for him in a primary.

I assume you are from a Southern state of the old Confederacy.
Well not originally but hmm yes I guess you could say that. I sometimes see a truck with 2 confederate flags and 1 American flag and have been tempted to ask if the store ran out of US ones. But in this day and age, I never know if I might get shot.

I’m curious, do you provide free healthcare to illegal aliens? How does the govt deal with that issue?
Ask our previous 12 years president and decesed husband now imputed for money laundry in the millions of dollars. ,who have polarized and sewn hatred using longbforgotten old fashioned class warfare rethoric and…I ll say no more.
Pray that our new president and all other candidates who wisely got together to give us a chance to come out balance each other and help us stand up.
And if we were honest, we could help our neighbouring countries much better and with more dignity than we do.
Please, do not spoil the lovely day we ve spent with my husband, Theo…🙂
God bless you.

There’s no guarantee Hillary won’t win a state she might be unexpected to. Sure I can pretty much assure you she won’t win say AL or Miss. But Obama afterall did win VA, NC, FL in the general. And Hillary won those along with NV and OH in this year’s primaries. All swing states. I cast my ballot early. But only on my own. Nothing happened in the time between which made me regret my vote.

Why do you think everyone who doesn’t agree with your view is “rationalizing?” We aren’t. We don’t feel the need.

That was a very convoluted deflection for a relevant question.
You offer great benefits to citizens, do you also offer them to non-citizens?

Can you use different words?/I don t get you, Theo…sorry.
Ask straightahead,I do not mind.
I would have to look up " convoluted" and “/deflection”/and ask if I got it right also!
I found it: you are saying I presented a twisted something so as to changing or causing something to change direction.

So go to the point of what you really want to know please.
It helps me.

To be fair, nobody has brought up any of his proposed economic policies that violate Church teaching.
That’s because his economic policy proposal, tho to the right of Church teachings, are by far the closest to Church teachings, with Trump’s and Cruz’s being very far from Church teaching. The only thing Trump and Cruz seem to follow in Church teaching is supposedly anti-abortion, but we really can’t believe them on that if they are for harming and killing people thru many other ways, including environmental harms.

Cruz and the policies of the other GOP candidates help the environment. Capitalism with a conscience is MUCH better for the environment than big government.

BTW, if one thinks liberals are environmentally friendly and conservatives harm the environment, just look into any dumpster at a university during move-in and move-out. The folks in my apartment system can’t even be bothered to separate paper and cardboard, or trash for that matter, and I doubt many of them support Ted Cruz.
