Yikes, really? This really shocks me, given his animosity towards the US in general. I guess he’s changed over the years or something.

Okay, I couldn’t keep that open and I am going to choose to forget about it. I can’t sleep at night believing that ANYONE could sink that low as to try to get MONEY out of the suffering of other people and blaming their political opponents. I’m not generally a “head in the sand” person, but this just about takes the cake. I could be sick.

I don’t think anyone is “celebrating” the tragedy, but I see that Ms. Palin has had her websites scrubbed of anything that might feed hatred. She, to be sure, was as horrified by the shooting as anyone else, and wholly innocent of any connection to it, but apparently there were some statements there that might be read the wrong way and which merited being reviewed and eliminated.

Civil discourse is a thing of the past and IMO gets less and less civil by the day. I dread what the presidential campaigns are going to be like next year.

It hasnt been scrubbed. Its there. The donation button is gone…but then again, the election has been over for 2 months so why would it still be there.

Please read the entire page of that letter and do so without your right-wing bias. Blaming Palin? Indeed? :mad:

It was a fundraising letter that was emailed out. Notice the big DONATION button.

Why the need for the mention of Palin if it was just sweet and kind? Did they know they could stir hatred for Palin and get people to donate?

once again…please cite some evidence that the shooter ever even followed or listened to Sarah Palin or any other conservative commentator, or ever was associated with the Tea Party in any way.

What evidence is there that any type of conservative political rhetoric from an American politician or commentator influenced this young man?

Evidence? As in taking it into a court of law? Should posters on this Forum be sworn in before making any statement? 🤷

None that I know of, any more than I know of liberal rhetoric that influenced him.

And suppose there were such “evidence” pointing either right or left - what good would it do except to inflame more people and have both sides hate each other even more than now. Is there to be no end of hating political opposites?

exactly! I could not have put it better myself. when people get murdered it goes above politics, it is a terrible tragedy and it should not be used to take political shots at those on the other side of the isle.

we need to leave politics out of it as President O’Bama, Sarah Palin, and Glenn Beck have all done and simply request that everyone pray for and support the victims in any way we can.

SOOOOOO, American politics should not be discussed or blamed for this tragedy. My complaint and the complaint of many others in this thread is that there are so many commentators (Sheriff Dupkin, Keith Olberman, various New York Times writers, and nameless others in the media) who are blaming conservatives for absolutely NO REASON with NO EVIDENCE to back up anything they are saying for this tragedy and influencing the shooter. They just snatched up a political group that they didn’t like (the Tea Party) and hung this thing around their necks. That is wrong, and it is a shameful exploitation of the victims of this horrible crime.

.Phelps and His Brood are beyond Disgusting. Personally, I don’t consider Him or His Parishioners or his Immediate Family True Christians. This is so Vile in so many Levels it is not even “funny.”:rolleyes:⭕(
