Friends,
When and how do you busy mommies pray your mommy prayers?:gopray2:
I usually try to wake up at 5am Eli, and devote these precious first hours of my morning to prayer intentions here on CAF first, then to quiet reflection on my daily comings and goings, followed by prayers for my precious family and friends.

Like Belle, I then tend to pray continually throughout the day, informal prayers of thanks and gratitude, and whenever I think of anyone or anything that may need His divine assistance. And I pray every night before I sleep. I find this helps to give me a restful night, as I place all my worries in his hands, with complete trust and faith that He will care for his children with his divine love. I can’t imagine being a Mom without having faith in God. Who would I have turned to, through all those worrisome times? No love on earth could compare to His, not even my own.
May God Bless you, and your little one(s)!

PRAYER TO ST. MONICA

Dear St. Monica,
troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion
of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience,
and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for

the conversion of my husband and the strong faith of my son, the conversion of all sinners in my family and of the spouses being prayed for here by CAF members,

and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.

Amen.

Lord, I commend my husband Jim to you this day,
That you would raise him up to be a man after your own heart.
That you would cause him to grow in wisdom and in knowledge of you
And become a holy and spiritual head of his home,
obedient to your will and humble in mind and action.
Amen.

Diana & Belle, I hate to trouble you, but would you mind praying for my husband? I’m am truly worried about his soul. He is far from the “Light”. Thank you both so much! I’m praying for your intentions, too!

Well, I altered this one a bit:

Lord, I commend all husbands and wives represented in this thread to you this day,
That you would raise us up to be men and women after your own heart.
That you would cause us to grow in wisdom and in knowledge
of you and that these husbands become holy and spiritual heads of these homes, and that these wives become and remain vessels that shine your light continuously. Keep us all
obedient to your will and humble in mind and action. Amen.

Hi all you St. Monica women!

I haven’t checked in for a while, but I have been following the thread and praying for all of you new posters here.
  1. She’s getting used to hearing prayers so when she’s talking a little better, she can join in. 👍
You mean she ISN’T talking in full sentences and communicating her every need in perfect clarity YET??? LOL

It is always so striking to me when someone talks about their toddlers who are at the normal progression for speech. My DD was such an early talker it was fun to see people shocked looks when she would speak if full coherent sentences. She was 1-1/2 years old when she was a flower girl in her big sisters wedding. Our music minister was walking with us and holding DD hand and just listening to her chatter away. He looked at me with this awed look on his face and asked me “HOW old is she???”

Anyway, I digress. It is good for our little ones to hear us pray and be comfortable with it. I am so self conscious I haven’t been good about it. So good for you Belle!

Belle & Diana,
THANK YOU! Where would I would be without dear friends like you? Praying for you, too. Much love!

:rotfl:
No, not quite. 😛 She’s “talking” lots – using tone, intonation, etc., but not real words. She does say real words, just not in sentences yet.
As my BIL pointed out last night though, she does sprinkle “umm” throughout, just like many adults do! 😛

We know some people whose daughter said this shortly before turning two:
“I came out of my mommy’s v____.”
Now that’s advanced! (too advanced for me!)

I used to be too, but I have to do it, for her sake as well as mine. 👍 The more you do it the more natural it becomes. 😉 Just remember, it is supposed to be a conversation between us and God. I always keep in mind the appropriate reverence and respect God of course deserves, but I also talk to Him just as we talk to each other – for Jesus did tell us (through St. Faustina) that He is our Best Friend and wants us to tell Him everything. 🙂
Now I need to work on the listening part of the conversation. 😊

I was reading through my e-mail subscriptions and this quote was in one of them. I thought it to be very appropriate for those of us here on this thread because it rings so true to what we are all praying for and many are going through.

“Experience is a hard teacher because she gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.” -Vernon Sanders Law

Belle,
HELP! I’m counting on you or someone at CAF - when is this going to kick in? I need help!!
He will come through…please do not loose hope. He knows when it is best. My husband actually left home…when God finally touched his heart.

God is grand…lets keep praying.

Dear St. Monica…:gopray:

This my seem like a silly question, but once I am done with my first ever novena to St. Monica, how often can I begin another one?
🤷

The minute you finish the last one 🙂

There are no rules for how and when you say a novena. It’s a personal devotion. The key to prayer and specifically prayer intentions prayers is submission/abandonment. This is something I have been working on with the help of my spiritual director. Letting go is so hard to do We as humans have a tendency to want to hold on to our control, and when we give it over to God we have that fear of losing control.

A very good point, LambS., I’m trying to work on that myself, when I don’t forget.😊
