LambS.
Thanks so much for sharing. Even if you think it is simple, I never thought of it:doh2:
I am going to get on that.

Friends,
I bought a small St. Monica statue to keep at home. Any suggestions on where I should place her.

Have a happy day.

Lamb & everyone:
Thank you all for your prayers. The last couple days have been better - thank God. I don’t want to think ahead (which, obviously I am, since I just wrote this) but I hope things keep getting better and dh doesn’t regress. This tends to happen rather frequently. Anyway, still praying the Novena. Praying for all you ladies everyday! Truly - I am!! God bless…

Praying for you to m4t and jules and all of the moms/wives here on the St. Monica thread
Thanks so much. I need all the prayers I can get. Praying for you all too!

I’ve started the novena but I am only on day 2 today. I have realised that the very best I can do for my husband is to not be with him in the marriage but to pray for him. God has shown me that this is the greatest love I can give him. I feel I can be closer to him through prayer than we were as a couple. Although I wanted this marriage to work so much, I can’t see that happening.
I find the days so sad and sometimes hard to get through. I miss him and I feel empty. But everytime I feel depressed about us, I pray for him so at least I am doing something worthwhile and helpful for him. I am sad that my son will have to have this access stuff. It’s not what I wanted for any of my children.
Prayers for all of you wives!

…Well, things have taken a turn for the worst and it seems that we will never reconcile. I am pretty low at the moment… I am sure my husband has a mental illness and there is little chance of a change as he cannot accept that he’s at fault in any way. …And now, I need to concentrate on changing myself and becoming as holy as I should be.
:grouphug: I’m sorry to hear the sad news about your marriage jules. My sympathy is with you, I have my own concerns regarding my DH’s likely mental illness as well. You are in my prayers, jules, May God be with you, and in His love for you, may each day of your self-discovery and healing bring you closer to the joy and happiness you once knew.
ETA: DH’s job interview went great yesterday. He’s got a second interview today, and it was pretty much said yesterday that he’ll get the job.
:dancing: Belle, so glad to hear that his interview went well! It can be very humbling looking for work, but with all your prayers for DH, I’m sure, that God is working his Will, and things may unfold surprisingly, with an unexpected blessing in this job. 😉 You just never know, a much needed future contact, a lesson learned, an opportunity for promotion… I’m praying for you both!
I feel like I’ve found a group of friends here.
:amen: :grouphug: I know just how you feel Lamb, what a wonderful blessing this forum has been for me! I am truly grateful that God brought us together here. What an amazing Father! :amen:

:extrahappy: I’m so glad there was finally a break in the storm, Mom! I’m keeping you in my prayers, God Bless!

PRAYER TO ST. MONICA

Dear St. Monica, troubled wife and mother,
many sorrows pierced your heart during your lifetime.
Yet, you never despaired or lost faith.
With confidence, persistence, and profound faith,
you prayed daily for the conversion of your beloved husband, Patricius,
and your beloved son, Augustine;
your prayers were answered.
Grant me that same fortitude, patience, and trust in the Lord.
Intercede for me, dear St. Monica,
that God may favorably hear my plea for:

the conversion of my husband and the strong faith of my son, the conversion of all sinners in my family and of the spouses being prayed for here by CAF members,

and grant me the grace to accept His Will in all things,
through Jesus Christ, our Lord,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, forever and ever.
Amen.

Lord, I commend all husbands and wives
represented in this thread to you this day,
That you would raise us up to be men and women after your own heart.
That you would cause us to grow in wisdom and in knowledge of you
and that these husbands become holy and spiritual heads of these homes,
and that these wives become and remain vessels that shine your light continuously.
Keep us all obedient to Your Will, and humble in mind and action.
Amen.

Diana, I’m praying for you, dear friend. You are so faithful in your posts and in sharing your love and kindness to all of us in this thread! Elli: a suggestion of where to put St. Monica? “I’d” put her where the devil attacks me the most in my home. For example: dh & I get into heated discussions in kitchen, often. I’d put her there. Just a suggestion. I think I may have to get “her” too! God bless all tonight!

Novena day 8.

Any suggestions on where to keep my St. Monica statue?

Any suggestions on where to keep my St. Monica statue?
hmmmm, well I would keep it someplace where you can see it most anytime you want to. That way you can say a quick little pray to St. Monica anytime.

The other place I would consider keeping it is where you normally pray in a place where you can see it as you recite your novena or rosary or other prayers. Make a special meditation “corner” or place in your house/room and have no only your St. Monica statue, but if you have a crucifix, family bible, picture(s) and keep your rosary there to. Nothing prettier or more CATHOLIC than having a set of beads out in a prominent place!:signofcross:

Perhaps keep it next to your computer since this is where you “remember” to pray the Novena when you come here to post.

I guess I didn’t really help much did I? I didn’t just give you A suggestion, I gave you a list 😉

Lamb S. and Mom4truth,
thanks so much for the wonderful suggestions and ideas. I will think of those and find a special place for her and then let you guys know.

On another note: How many medals can one wear at a time? I am wearing a four way medal right now and am thinking of getting this beautiful St. Monica medal I saw the other day.

any suggestions? I always have so many questions—sorry:shrug:

Novena day 8:)

Novena day 8:)
Your welcome! 🙂

I have a chain I wear sometimes (not as much as I use to because I need a new chain) that has a crucifix, a St. Therese, a Miraculous Medal and a Virgin Mary Medal (blessed by JPII). When I wear it, I normally wear it under my shirt, not on the outside. Right now I’m wearing a beautiful sterling silver with a gold cruciform necklace that is in view as “jewelry”. So, I don’t think there is such a thing as too many medals. I’ve thought about turning my other medals into a charm bracelet.

Lamb S. thanks so much for the info. Do you think it is okay to have the St. Monica medal blessed, if and when I get it?

Oh, and getting a charm bracelet or new chain would be awesome. What a blessing to have something blessed by JPII:bounce:

Actually today was day nine of my first novena:extrahappy:
God willing I will begin a new one tomorrow.

I soooooooooooo want St. Monica to open my husband’s heart so that he loves Jesus and Mary as much as I do.

It is absolutely okay to have it blessed. I feel like if it’s something I am using to remind my self to pray to a Saint, or increase my devotion to our Lord, blessing them gives them a level of reverence and consideration of importance, so I always get my medals and rosaries blessed. I
