This Lion character is Emanuel. He popped in my mind once when I was in Church. He’s a mix of Aslan from the Chronicles of Narnia and Aragorn from Lord of the Rings.

I don’t know if you should watch that show. I read on a christian anime website that one character from the show says he doesn’t believe the Bible. And that show is kinda… creepy.

About religion in anime, I don’t watch series that are blasphemous or that are focused on showing Christianity in bad ways.
But a show with a non believer… well, I don’t think is something to be too worried.

Anime wish list: a series that (probably) doesn’t exist.
Something about thoroughbred horse racing (big in Japan), along the lines of Hikaru no Go, or Prince of Tennis, revealing character through the sport and through the way the protagonists play it.
I would buy the whole series.
Has anyone here been following the disasters in Japan? Our cable provider is giving everyone a premium channel, TV Japan, for now, and I’ve been watching footage of the tsunami and all the followup reports.
They need our prayers, AND our money (if you are able).

TV Japan now seems to be adding back some regular programming (soap operas, documentaries, sports programs) although they are still mostly news-reporting.

I do not recommend watching any Anime at all. Much of them are filled with either complete wickedness, evil and satanism and the occult and kabalism, etc, or they are filled with the most horrendous sexual content, or are completely devoid of anything having to do with Jesus Christ:
Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Many animes are filled with demon possesion, sexual inuendo, and downright disobedience to parents and authority. This breaks the commandment about honoring Father and Mother.
Even the more “tame” ones are filled with mysticism and gaea theory and reincarnation and more.

Of course I’m troubled by it. But I separate it from my cartoons and my comics, and won’t be discussing it in a forum related to said cartoons and comics. Frankly, I’ve grown TIRED of anime fans who’ve recently been obsessing over this disaster, seeing as I know said anime fans would not care about an equally tragic natural disaster, had it not occurred in the country that their fandom of choice comes from.
I think lumping ALL THINGS Japan into an anime forum is just disrespectful to the Japanese people, actually.
And I’ve been shocked and appalled by the number of anime fans who ask questions like “How will this effect the anime industry?”… The way some of them put their hobby over the lives lost is disgusting, their priorities are TERRIBLY messed up.
So, that’s my two cents on it. I won’t be discussing it in an anime forum. I’ve been trying to keep up on the news, that is, when I can stomach it. (Again, the media? As with any disaster, they’re cashing in on it. The news over here has taken a new interest in all things Japan that they would NOT have reported on, had these horrible events not occurred… So, the news is hard to watch, with such infuriating reporters.)
Anyway, I try to keep up on the news, I’ve donated some money… I just don’t think it’s an appropriate subject matter for this forum.

Infact, most of your arguments are invalid, as you tend to not know what you’re fighting against. You do not know me, nor those things that cannot be unwitnessed in my head/heart. I know Anime front to back from experience, inside and out and down to the furthest darkest recesses of it. It is pollution of the whole being.
Take for a quick example, Naruto or Bleach. People are empowered and indwelt by devils. (as if anyone could gain anything from such darkness… the same lie of satan from the garden).
The Root Lies Of Satan
Let us take a look at what lies the serpent [satan, devil, dragon] teaches for a moment:

Teilhard de Chardin]”, “awakening”, “meditation upon centering”, “centering prayer”, “enlightenment”, “that mankind knows as much about the future as God does”, etc.
[5] “…ye shall be as gods…”; and out of this arises every worker of iniquity and false doctrine such as the “new age movement”, “being equal to God” [bringing God downward or man upward, elevating to equality with Deity], “seeking to become God; the very thing satan himself desires”, “that you are your own master”, “works salvation theology [you save yourself, by your own right hand]”, “being holy apart from God [just as satan intimated in Heaven, self-righteousness]”, “do what thou wilt [A. Crowley]”, etc.
[6] “…knowing good and evil…”; and out of this arises every worker of iniquity and false doctrine such as “Paganism” “Kabbalism”, “dabbling in dual sided theologies, that God is comprised of good/evil, light/darkness, yin/yang]”, “Gnosticism [that you can somehow “know” [their def.] something]”, “that to fall/sin was to be uplifted/enlightened” etc.

Hey now, at least it’s a chance to bring out the goodness that people think anime fans are devoid of. For all you know, their love of anime had simply coincided with an already pre-existing virtue of charity. Don’t you think that’s a rather cute coincidence?
I mean, think about it. Japan is trouble. That means the manga industry is also in trouble. If I can still care regardless if only one of either is in any real danger, how much more can I care when they both are? It’s like those funny scenes where a usually quirky character is seen doing something real noble and when asked to explain, she/he gives your standard reasons of virtue, nobility, and good will but then finishes off with a hilarious, “That and… THAT’S WHERE MY MANGA COMES FROM!!! SO GOD PLEASE SPARE JAPAN!! DX”

Occult? I’ve studied exorcism and I actually think the fantasy magic in anime is waaaay, way cooler than the occult that exorcists warn about. Then again, it’s not like the stuff in fantasy and reality are the same anyways. LOL! XD
Parents are human too. Let me tell you right now that you will reach a certain age when respect for them can only be so far. Let me start with a few examples from non-anime fiction of why parents are hardly infallible.
Denethor from Lord of the Rings - The man sends his son on a suicide mission, plays favoritism, and ultimately loses his mind then burns himself alive (all the while attempting to burn his feverish son along with him).
Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter - Lucius is a racist and will not hesitate to indoctrinate his son, Draco into his worship of one of the most evil wizards in the HP world.
Zira from Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride - A scornful lionness who desires nothing but vengeance, lives a life of bigotry, and even trains her son to be a deceitful murderer.
Finally, the most classic example…
The Evil Stepmother from Cinderella - A stepmother is still a mother no? Yet, this woman uses her status of authority only to enslave poor Cinderelli-er I mean Cinderella. (Stupid singing mice! DX)
All right, let’s move on to anime/manga:
Gaara’s father from Naruto - He coldly sacrifices his wife to turn his son into a weapon and a monster.
Yoshio Ootori from Ouran Highschool Host Club - The man is your typical, unfeeling CEO who thinks his sons are simply clones of himself to succeed him.
Precia Testarossa from Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha - This woman cruelly uses her daughter as a mere a tool for obtaining power and whips her like a dominatrix whenever she fails.
Now, the piece-de-resistance, examples taken from real life:
My own parents - As much as I love them and I know they only mean well, they have hopelessly bought into the whole New Age feel-good fad. They are at best, cafeteria Catholics. My mother, kind and well-meaning woman that she is, is tragically very hard on my little sister. My father once had an affair that nearly destroyed my family and though everyone forgave him, I myself won’t be afraid to still use him as example of a parent’s human fallibility. Further adding to his lack of credibility, I submit the way he seems to prioritize his business affairs and money over the persons of his children (myself especially, apparently).
Please, I implore you to meditate on what I have said the next time you criticize anything for promoting disobedience to parents.
Not all parents are worth honoring, much less obeying.
Obviously because they’re a different universe. You don’t see Hollows roaming the streets now do you? Where is the Kingdom of Fiore on our world map? Do you know how to get to Garage Island?
