The son will rise today in the east. You want to make the point it is not yet established?

Assuming you mean the “sun”, it doesn’t rise at all. If you mean my son, he’ll rise when I wake him up.

I don’t hate Trump, and I don’t hate you.
And I most definitely do not “hate” you, I am disappointed at your attitude. There are some Trump supporters who know and despise Trump, but since he is their own “rabid dog”, they are willing to overlook his shenanigans.
Trump supporters are routinely called “members of a cult”, accused of being complicit in school shootings, of not caring if the planet is destroyed, and of rejecting “Catholic morality” on these forums. I’m not sure how productive an argument over the semantics of whether or not that qualifies as “hate” would be, but I am sure that I would never want to give you any meaningful power of me.

How do you cope with this? To be fair though, don’t they have a point in some of the issues, ideally shouldn’t the Catholic peoples support social justice but since it seems like social justice and pro life (anti abortion) are on different planes, the conservative and republican Catholics go to the other side and “become villains” in a way and overlook a more comprehensive and holistic agenda? Advice for anyone self-conscious by this?

Well, while I am shocked that people support Trump, I realize they have their reasons.

I also realize that, much to my chagrin, I am not always right.

So, there we are. This is a political debate. I think that the republic is in danger. You think that not only are things okay, they are going really well.

The impeachment is not flowing from losing the election, from my point of view. I was one of those people that thought Trump would pivot after the election and actually act Presidential and that the campaign Trump was an act. I was wrong.

President Trump is who Donald Trump always was. It started with Sean Spicer lying about the inauguration crowd size and just kept getting worse.

By not taking it too seriously. I make a lot of irreverent posts as well, and some of them even get past the moderators ;)…though if I don’t respond for 2 weeks, you’ll know why.

No, I don’ think so. Actually this is one of the biggest problems I have with “Trump haters/despisers/whatever”, they always assume bad faith on the part of people who disagree over various social justice political issues. For example, if you’re concerned about uncontrolled immigration, it must be because you hate “brown people”.

I support “social justice” where it doesn’t conflict with actual “justice”.

To be precise a “cult of personality”. A well known phenomenon in the dictatorial systems. (It happened in every communist country!) The rest you brought up are irrelevant in this context.

There are only two aspects which are important here. One is that Trump used the power of his office for his personal gain. The phrases “I want a favor, though” and Mulvaney’s “get over it” are perfect examples of this attitude. And adding insult to injury, a serious percentage of the promised aid to Ukraine has not been released yet, invalidating the bogus defense of the republicans.

And the fact that over seventy subpoenas were all met with stonewalling prove without any doubt that Trump committed the act of “obstruction of Congress”. So far the courts decided against Trump in EVERY lawsuit.

Both articles of the impeachment have been solidly established, and there was no counter argument at all. Only hysterical histrionics to “overthrow” the will of the “people”. The process of impeachment has been established in the Constitution and to call it “putsch” or “coup” is ridiculous. Fact is that Trump was legally elected, but that does not exclude to realize that it was a BAD decision which can be remedied by the LEGAL process of impeachment and removal.

There is no necessary connection. Adropov was a dictator, but had no “cult of personality”. Obama’s cult of personality was so intense that he got a Nobel prize for simply being elected, but despite his sometimes abusing power, he wasn’t a dictator.

In real life you can rarely find a mathematically precise causal connections. So what? Both articles of impeachment are established firmly, and there was not one iota of counter argument from the republicans.

He said he would be so presidential it would be boring. And there are so many things he could do to reach those who don’t support him. But no, he doesn’t want to.

Like for example, Stephen Miller’s emails are problematic. Any other administration would have let him go. Imagine him working for Ronald Reagan? But he’s still there.

He couldn’t predict how much hate would be thrown his way from his opponents. I’m sure he’d like things to be a little more boring. I know I’d like to not be accused of wanting kids to die when I come out in support of an originalist reading of the 2nd amendment, but I’m not holding my breath.

Looking at polls, his support among African Americans has reached record levels for a Republican. He must be doing something.

If he would put his twitter machine away 90% of the negativity would go away.

People are reacting to what he says. They are’t just attacking for the sake of attacking. His need to constantly be in news brings this upon himself.

And, this morning he attacked a 16 -year-old girl for being named Time person of the year. How juvenile.

It’s amazing to me the things that gets him tweeting.

She’s a child. What difference does it make if she’s Time person of the year?
