Because he’s not. She’s a child. What difference does it make if she’s Time person of the year?

Zelensky is brand new to politics and needs to polish his image with his people of a strong leader. If he admitted to feeling pressured by the US to do their bidding, it would make him appear weak. Then there is this: Zelensky knows he needs aid from Trump to hold off the Russians who are currently attacking his nation. If he came out against Trump, he may worry about future interruptions in that aid which might spell disaster for Ukraine, and even more likely for himself politically. He is walking a tightrope on these questions put to him by reporters. Further, he is not testifying under oath and has no particular reason to tell all he knows. And if you look at the exact wording of his responses and their context, you will see that he is leaving himself some wiggle room on this “no pressure” response. Why does he have to save face? He has done nothing wrong.
Nope. The tweets came first, and have never stopped. You have the cause and effect backwards. The relentless attacks for the past three years is the cause of the tweets.
Promise made. Promise broken. He said he would be so presidential it would be boring.
One does not attempt to counter nothing at all. The only fact witness was Sondland and his single fact favored Trump. Both articles of impeachment are established firmly, and there was not one iota of counter argument from the republicans.
Interesting psych analysis of a person about whom you know nothing, in reality.Zelensky is brand new to politics and needs to polish his image with his people of a strong leader. If he admitted to feeling pressured by the US to do their bidding, it would make him appear weak. Then there is this: Zelensky knows he needs aid from Trump to hold off the Russians who are currently attacking his nation. If he came out against Trump, he may worry about future interruptions
It’s common sense based on facts we do know. I didn’t make it up. I’ve heard smarter people than me say all these things.Interesting psych analysis of a person about whom you know nothing, in reality.
What about them?but what about safety nets
This is incorrect. The way “checks and balances” works is that there are instances when the executive is subordinate to judicial, the judicial is subordinate to legislative, the executive is subordinate to legislative, etc.The President isn’t subordinate…
Social justice and anti-abortion are not on different planes, they are all about the care for people, centering on use of the gifts of the Spirit, on mercy. To be fair though, don’t they have a point in some of the issues, ideally shouldn’t the Catholic peoples support social justice but since it seems like social justice and pro life (anti abortion) are on different planes, the conservative and republican Catholics go to the other side and “become villains” in a way and overlook a more comprehensive and holistic agenda? Advice for anyone self-conscious by this?
Jeanne, is there anything that Donald Trump has done or said that you find worthy of criticism?petty attacks
That’s not the way “check and balances” work. The President’s check on the legislature, the veto, doesn’t make Congress the President’s subordinate. This is incorrect. The way “checks and balances” works is that there are instances when the executive is subordinate to judicial, the judicial is subordinate to legislative, the executive is subordinate to legislative, etc.
Okay, explain how the president is not, in some cases, subordinate to congress. The president does not approve of the final budget, even though he can veto it. The president does not write legislation. The president is not allowed to deny subpoenas from congress. That’s not the way “check and balances” work.
After you explain how the Congress is, in some cases, subordinate to the President, I’ll be happy to take a crack at it…Okay, explain how the president is not, in some cases, subordinate to congress.
They’re necessary, but need to be balanced so as not to provide a disincentive towards work if capable.I’d like to please hear your thoughts.
Congress may not overrule the president’s wish to have a temporary person in his cabinet. Congress may not force the president to have certain people working for him. After you explain how the Congress is, in some cases, subordinate to the President, I’ll be happy to take a crack at it…
Except he got re-elected in 2004.I didn’t work out for him.
That doesn’t make Congress subordinate to the President, that is a function of the separation of powers. Congress and the Executive have different authorities under the Constitution. The President can’t introduce laws, but that doesn’t mean Congress is his boss.Congress may not overrule the president’s wish to have a temporary person in his cabinet. Congress may not force the president to have certain people working for him.
The President has restricted all others from testifying. The only fact witness was Sondland
