To be stuck with $16,000 bill just for an ambulance ride after a bad accident is like pouring salt in a wound.
We have ambulance insurance here, or health care cards to cover costs. Ambulance insurance is an annual fee and covers all road, water and air ambulance related issues. Without it a trip could get really costly

Pope Francis has been invited to address the WEF every year of his pontificate and has stressed the importance of human fraternity, ecological respect and justice in forming it’s programs. Here are some of the ongoing WEF initiatives for a better, fairer world.
Who cares? Does the Pope stress anything concrete? He criticizes capitalism but so far has not put forward a workable model.
He has addressed the injustices in capitalism but it was Pope JPII who coined the error of ‘unbridled capitalism’. The Church is a moral voice for the world and she provides support for movements that a righting to correct injustice.
You’re not answering the question I asked you in my original post.
If you mean what specific measures are being taken, I linked the WEF site that lists just some of the many initiatives and programs underway. One of my ‘favorites’ is the concrete step of forming a new model of economic and cultural society in within the European Union.

There is no compromise between persons whose life and values derive from the one true God. This truth deserves to be further developed and verbalized
I totally agree, however we can see that no religion is truly united as one. Because I am Catholic I would agree that we are the fullest of knowledge, but society reminds us that we do not have the answers for all others.
Compromise was possible, because we stood on the same foundation of Judeo-Christian morality. That has changed. There is a chasm dividing us in the US, and this is appearing around the world. A chasm for which there is no bridge; differences that admit no compromise.
Yes the foundation was a shared ideal & seems to be weakening over time. A chasm does exist, not because of compromise, but because of diminishing trust & respect to ideas that are so different to our own.

And economists have criticized Pope Francis’ caricature of capitalism more than once. See the book Pope Francis and the Caring Society from the Independent Institute.

I take anything from such organizations as the WEF with a grain of salt, my friend. These are the same people who pushed through things like GATT.

It is true that the Catholic Church, while holding the fullness of divine revelation, has a membership as divided as night and day. Because of this, our witness to the dark world is deeply flawed, and wounded, and mixed and confused. We were sent out to be Light! But our light has become dim, and faint - many among us can hardly take a step without tripping on something.

None of that changes the truth I cited above, from Scripture. Again, there is no compromise of light with darkness - one or the other will sooner or later fill the soul, and define it. The darker society becomes, the deeper the chasm between the secular world and the children of light. The “progressives” in the secular world and the progressives in the Church have a unity of purpose, and it is not good, and will not end well.

I thought we couldn’t really comment because we had to wait to see what all is involved? Now you’ve gone have envisaged…

The “progressives” in the secular world and those in the Church have a unity of purpose, and it is not good, and will not end well.
What is that “unity of purpose” which is specifically problematic for you other than “abortion”? There are many more progressives which deal with a much wider range of pro-life issues than most conservatives as a whole.

So, define unity of purpose, it would be interesting to know.

I wish & pray this to be true, however the fallen nature of humanity has led us to conclude that one does not exist without the other. Maybe one day when all humanity unite the hearts & minds to one true understanding of existence.

They have done the same in the past ’ Britan did when London was being bombed in WWII, for example. So it is hardly unknown.
yea, cause so many people wanted to go running around london when bombs were falling down around them.

It is now being reported that as few as 74,000,000 and as many as 250,563,600 americans have been infected to covid-19. The cdc will take an average so it is more like 138,000,000 with a death toll of 325,000. So a mortailty rate of about .24% that is a little more than twice the mortality rate of the yearly flu. It is going to drop more as dr get better at treating it. Of course when biden gets elected he will pull out the old microscope in the white house and find a vaccine within 2 or 3 hours.

While he is looking over his son’s laptop that is a Russian ploy

I know a family that the wife has been battling cacer for 15 years. They havent had to hold bake sales or take donations.

Well not everyone is as fortunate as the family you know.

A healthcare system that leaves a fairly large portion of the population bankrupt is not a good healthcare system even if a fortunate few were served well.

No, I am not advocating for government run healthcare but the current system we have leaves a lot to be desired.

Something needs to be done.

I didnt say that on top of my health care, that is the cost of my health care. Unlike the UK here in the US is isnt free. My wife pay $900 a month out of her check and we have a $5,000 deductible. Then we pay nothing at all more.

If the great reset is going to be something like the Vatican deal with Communist China, count me out.

WOW, I really dont know how re-explain it so the light blub will turn on above your head.

An outcome can be envisaged around the aims and goals, the contribution of different parties to dialogue, the integrity of the contributors such as the Catholic Church. The desire for social conversion is a powerful force of the coalition of ethical people and institutions.
