They’re just wood if I don’t worship them
If they’re just wood then why are we talking about someone taking them? It can’t be because of the act of taking them, since people have things of far greater value taken at Vatican yet we’re not talking about that. So we know its not the act of taking that is the issue.
Throwing wood into water damages wood. They were therefore damaged. I’m finished explaining this to you.
We need to ask Mother Nature why she keeps “vandalizing” tree branches by letting them fall into rivers and lakes.

Yes, you explained that water can damage wood.
You have not documented actual damage to the statues.

Without that, your accusation of vandalism is false.

Idols are just wood and stone. Doesn’t make them not idols. It makes them idols you don’t worship.

Funny. Everyone from Muslims to Baptists say that about our Catholic statues. Are they just “idols we don’t worship?”

Because some misguided individuals chose to take them.

Mother Nature didn’t steal the statues and throw them into the river. People did.

Friend, water damages wood. Inevitable scientific processes don’t require “documentation.”

Or were you thinking these were Super Statues somehow immune to water damage? If the vandals threw them into a fire, would you require “documentation” that they ended up charred? You don’t throw them into water unless the INTENT was to damage them.

This issue is asinine, anyway. We are surrounded globally by evils like abortion, human trafficking, and needless wars. But thank goodness for culture warriors grandstanding their theft and destruction of another culture’s religious artifacts. We’re all better off now.

Nope. And you still haven’t told me why I should care what pagans and heretics think. I assume because there is no reason.

That doesn’t seem consistent with their previous actions of closing anti-Francis threads and posts, so it doesn’t seem so.

I think you raised the point, that for them to do this, yet remain hidden, would not be very genuine. If you are going to do such a thing, then the right thing to do is give an account for your actions.
I don’t get how going public is genuine.

C. S. Lewis disagreed with Christians who denounced ancient Paganism. He found the pre-Christian myths and practices to contain elements of truth as well as error.
First of all, I would like to read exactly how C.S. Lewis supposedly explained this.

Secondly, just because there may elements of truth in a pagan practice, doesnt mean we accept that pagan practice into the true faith from Jesus.

Once we learn and know the Lord (which these Amazonians are Catholics) then, the old religions and practices are discarded and Christianity is accepted.

False gods, including pachamama, are rejected, even though appreciation for the good things in creation are still given thanks for. We just have knowledge that the God of Abraham, Isaac, moses, and the prophets is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who created everything visible and invisible and gives growth to all things.

Because the public wanted to know. And hiding would be shameful.

These men actually answered an interview with questions.

Why does Pope Francis answer less than they do?

Correct me if I’m wrong here.

Pope Francis never said the statues should have been in the Church, or left in the Church, to my knowledge. He only apologized if people were offended. Right?

Why wont he answer some basic questions concerning the matter?

Submitting to the world’s designs is usually not a good thing and the shame would only last for a moment until other issues come up and take the spotlight.
