Toilet paper shortage

Yes, we have Coinstar and their fee has gone up! However, it is convenient.

Another sign of the times:
In the wintertime, my two dogs used to get excited when I put on my jacket. To them, it was a sign that I was preparing to take them for a walk.

Now they do the same when I put on my COVID-19 protective mask.

I see the paper towel and, to a lesser extent, toilet paper crunches lessening. Heck, there’s even a jug of real bleach waiting for me to pick up at wallie-world at the moment!

anyway, there’s a limit to how much space people have in their living rooms to store toilet paper, and I think we’re coming up on it . . .

as for coins, I take a handful and just dump them into the checkout machine before feeding it a card ro the rest–I just can’t bring myself to pay a fee for my cash . . .

all and all, this toilet paper shortage was just pulled out of someone’s, err, uhm, better stop there!
😱

Has anyone heard when toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, and liquid soap will become available again? In my area they are practically non-existent in stores.
We have it stocked up. Which is a good thing, because I am having an occasional issue where I need a lot of rolls. As of right now, we have plenty.

I ordered a huge box of TP when the issue first came up, and the same day, incomprehensibly, my wife ordered a large set from Sam’s Club with a cow-orker .

At this point, I just take one when one is available, and we’re not hitting that reserve.

After all these years, I"m still amazed at how much TP three females consume . . .

The oddest impulse purchase of my life has to be when I saw three folks idly lounging in Lowes near the front. When I came back with my dryer belt, I saw that they were’t lounging, but guarding a pale of paper towel to limit it to one per customer . . .

😱

I get annoyed when I see videos that people post of their pets jumping over stacks of toilet paper.

Hey, don’t waste the paper!

Speaking of trending videos, I’m not sure what to make of it when the news reports on how overwhelmed and exhausted our emergency room doctors and nurses are (which I’m sure they are), and then shows a delightful video of a group of emergency room doctors and nurses in their scrubs performing some intricately choreographed dance moves.

or, perhaps having pets jump over is getting additional use out of this precious paper . . .

I got that sweet, sweet TP. If anyone is truly in need, PM me and I can send you a few rolls.

Or why they have to ration milk at the supermarket, but then I just read an article about farmers having to dump all their milk. That’s not fair on any level. But its not like the citizens really know or can vote on that, or can make sense of it, care about it, or can do anything about it. Or want to. Milk is $2-4 a gallon, and thats the way it is. Thats the way its always been. And did you know that milk doesn’t actually come from cows or farms? It comes from Target (fill in your local supermarket here). And Target is allowing me to take my rightful 2 gallons which is enough for me. How kind of Target to do rhat! I am so thankful! Everything is fine.

Whelp. Back to my Netflix.

Yeah, that milk dumping was a sin. Give it away, don’t throw it away.

They aren’t allowed to give it away. That messes up the illusion of values and prices. Its happening in every market.

It could have been donated to food banks. If there is a law against it, it should be lifted, at least for the time being.

I agree. I’m not sure farmers are allowed to donate their goods to food banks. But the food banks are actually overloaded right now. They can’t handle any more.

I don’t think its fair that farmers are forced to dump milk that they should have a right to sell and worked hard to produce. What about the farmer? … People wouldn’t be having to go to the food bank if we could buy it at 50 cents a gallon.

There are transportation and packaging costs among others. They lose less money by dumping excess milk.
