Whats your opinion of the “large line” on top of Zimmermans head?
I will not try to speculate - but I hope it will be revealed during the official investigation. I’ve read it somewhere that the paramedics initially thought it was necessary to apply stitches to close the gash on Z’s head, but after he arrived to the police station, they decided they could avoid stitching the gash.

Tweeting should be done responsibly, particularly when one has large numbers of followers. The retweeting of the erronenous address, or this recent tweeting of the correct one, is not only deplorable, but cannot be linked to any logical or valid adult concept of even remotely responsible behavior.

Anger can be constructively directed to achieve legitimate goals, but this tit for tat is positively dangerous. The direct responsibility lies clearly at the doors of the offending individuals.
We are in agreement.

Where was Martin shot on his body? That will tell something.
I read somewhere that he was shot in the chest. However, I’ve been reading a lot these past few days, so finding a link may take a bit of time. I’ll do a search.

Here is an article that indicates that Martin was shot in the chest.

"Martin funeral director: No signs of fight on body…

…Trayvon Martin was buried in Miami with a gunshot wound to his chest. …

Where have you heard that Martin was involved in petty crimes or violence?
There are reports from the school that he was found with drug residue and stolen property in his back on school property.

The more I read about Zimmerman, the more I get the impression that he was just paranoid, period.

I mean, I definitely think he was profiling, but not necessarily racial-profiling. I think he was just looking for trouble in whatever he saw. Consider his comments:

“This guy looks like he’s up to no good or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around looking about.”

and

“Something’s wrong with him. Yep, he’s coming to check me out. He’s got something in his hands. I don’t know what his deal is.”

According to one of his black neighbors: "He (Zimmerman) came by here and talked about carrying guns and getting my wife more involved with guns. He said I should have a weapon and that his wife took classes to learn how to use one. I do have a weapon, but I don’t walk around the neighborhood with mine!”

This falls in line with the 46 calls to the police that month. He just sounds paranoid.
with all due respect, florida has a lot of crime. your average person would seem more paranoid then say someone growing up in vermont.

he said he was looking at houses, in the rain, at night. keep in mind that he was upset about the recent burglaries. if i had heard that a good description of the suspects were all asian dwarves, and i saw an asian dwarf walking around in the rain, at night looking at homes, i’d be suspicious too. that doesn’t make me paranoid nor does it make me think negatively towards dwarves or asians in general.

Everyone agrees that the school caught with Trayvon with marijuana residue on a plastic bag.
They also found him, on a previous occasion, with several items of jewelry – but these were never reported stolen. As SW85 admitted, he has no evidence from official sources that Trayvon was involved in ‘violence.’

But as I pointed out previously–Martin had no offenses on his juvenile record. And it’s highly questionable whether or not this information is relevant for the case.

Well, the video has ben released of Zimmerman in the police station. His nose is not bleeding or broken and there’s no gash on the back of his head.

you might have missed my earlier post describing my experience with a broken nose.

after i was cleaned up at the hospital and x-rayed all i had to show for it was a tiny thin red cut less than a cm and a a few drops of blood on my t-shirt. a small bruise the next day appeared. had i not had the x ray i really wouldn’t have believe my nose was broken.

as far as the back of his head goes, i can see a gash. you have to remember that low resolution cameras blur out fine details to save memory.

the police report shows that an officer saw the injuries on his nose and back. if he lied, then he would have had to have gotten the SFD, the other officers and witnesses to go along with it. i’m sure the police have taken pictures of his injuries so we’ll all get to see them one day, but the nose won’t look so bad if it’s anything like my break.

The question is whether, if a stranger were walking through my neighborhood, I’d take it upon myself to go chasing after him, refer to him as an a****** into my cell phone, and then call it self-defense when there was an altercation and I shot him. Yet this appears to be what Florida law allows.

Exactly.

Over 20% of American high school seniors admitted in NIH surveys that they’d used marijauna in the past month…and it was an enormous survey. Zimmerman has run-ins with his previous fiance that resulted in mutual restraining orders. It is not rare for high school students to use pot and it is also not rare that men get stuck with domestic violent arrests and restraining orders against them, even men who were not the agressors. It is all immaterial to what happened the day the shooting happened. All this digging up does is smear the reputations of the two people involved.

There is no definite information on whether the ‘baggie’ was tested for drugs neither was the property (reported to be ladies’ jewellry) known to be stolen.

Of course, this is all supposedly confidential information, so whether it was accurately revealed (and with what motive) remains to be seen.

What if a perpetrator had been white? Would you have been suspicious of every white person you didn’t personally know (of which I assume there would have been a considerable number coming and going)?

Belonging to an identifiable minority is NOT a crime. One is free to think, but not to act based on appearance. It’s wrong and it needs to stop. I hope this movement morphs into a stop-racial-profiling-now movement which changes even the way law enforcement officers describe suspects. What defines a black or a white man anyway, “typical appearance” of the majority? How would Zimmerman have been described if someone had been calling in a report on him and didn’t know his parentage?

This ‘tradition’ is ridiculous and it ensures that people who appear ‘atypical’ from the majority of their race, have a greater chance of getting away with crime! I won’t even go into the growing number of mixed race people who could fit in multiple categories. Time to step into the 21st century and describe people according to their actual physical features (including skin complexion) and not according to increasingly meaningless ethnic categories.

YES to your statement.

Again, YES.

👍

Since when did it become a crime to be a stranger?

If Zimmerman wanted to kill Martin or had some kind of animus towards him why did he call 911 to begin with?
