I’ll give him this: it’s a complex issue, and maybe he had a difficult time coming to his opinion. A lot of people do.

With Trump, a person knows what they get and where they stand. He doesn’t lie just to court votes. I appreciate his honesty and would take him over Cruz or Kasich any day. They are “Washington insiders” who will say anything the public wants to hear.

Even if he is not the nominee, **and I think he should be, **
Fortunately I’ve gotten past the point where anything you say can surprise me. But I’d be curious how many Dems would prefer a Republican who has called for punishing woman who have abortions over one who hasn’t.

I find Trump’s waffling frightening – and I say that as someone who often appreciates when politicians’ views evolve as a sign of growth and education on various issues. My worry with Trump, however, is that he may be selectively shifting his positions based on the audiences he wants to court. I don’t believe he’s legitimately pro-life (not in terms of abortion and not in terms all the other life-related issues that aren’t often enough identified with being pro-life). And I don’t understand why people think he’s anti-establishment – in many respects, he’s the epitome of establishment.

I can’t answer that with any certainty, but I’ve noticed that despite all the talk this year about hate for the establishment, it is mostly just the GOP establishment that people try to damage.

Trump didn’t know anything about skating rinks either, but he spoke to people who did and was able to sort out what the previous team had done wrong, and then deliver a complete solution on time.
The government of the U.S. could sure use a lot of that right now.

There really isn’t a good reason to think the political “lifers” have any better managerial ability than do those who have to manage well or go broke. Donald Trump produces things people spend their money on voluntarily. Professional politicians make deals with each other and with outsiders, selling your earnings and mine which they forced us to donate, in the form of preferences, approvals nobody else can get, subsidies and national assets; even the U.S. military. Among them, Hillary Clinton is the absolute worst.

Good, I’m glad you’re surprise-proof now.

I think the Republicans will deny him the nomination if he doesn’t arrive at the convention with the required number of delegates, which would be a shame, really, since he is the clear choice of the GOP voters. I think he’ll win New York and Pennsylvania, but a lot of the delegates from Pennsylvania won’t have to vote for him, even on the first ballot.

I’m sick of being shoved aside by Washington politicos. It’s time the government worked FOR the people of the US who pay their salary, not against us. Trump has shown us that many Americans feel the same and that it’s time for a change. Even if he’s not the candidate or the next president, his candidacy will have done good for both parties. Maybe they’ll finally shape up and do the job they were elected to do.

I don’t think Hillary’s the worse, but I agree with the rest of what you said.

Perhaps your real stumbling block might just be the fact that you are actually thinking enough to pick up on the waffling. That is where you are falling a little bit behind, marching to your own drummer so to speak.

Trump really does think outside the box, and that’s part of the reason that the establishment and media elites don’t like him. They can’t figure him out and he doesn’t play by their rules.

There is also a seriousness in trump’s character that the media hang on to every word he says. Not only that, trump has defined each and every issue in this election. He said, I’m gonna build a wall; months later Cruz says, I’ll build a wall. Trump says, I want fair trade not free trade; cruz follows, I’m a fair trader; trump says, NATO is unfair and we shouldn’t be paying so much to NATO; Hillary and Bernie last night said, other countries need to pay more for NATO. They all follow trump’s lead.

Trump is also going to cause Colorado to never forgo another primary election. The party is likely to change their system and never go back to a convention again for fear of backlash.

A doer not a talker: that’s who trump is.

Even if he is not the nominee, and I think he should be, Trump has provided something very valuable this election cycle: he’s shown Washington how sick Americans are of “politics as usual.” For that, I am beholden to him and to Bernie Sanders no matter who wins the nominations and the general election.
I don’t think he is a particularly honest person. Certainly no more so than any other politician. I do think he doesn’t understand the issue well, and probably doesn’t really care one way or the other about it. He seems to be casting about for the position that will get him the most votes, and willing to shift if there appear to be more votes elsewhere. It will be interesting to see what he says on the issue in the general.

There is a difference between a business man talking to get things done and a career politician who is only talk and never action.

Both trump and cruz have now said they’ll build a wall. Trump will. Cruz, I don’t think so. Trump will bring fair trade and negotiate better trade with other countries; cruz will not be able to even if he wants to.

A lot of that wealth comes from her husband, Paul Pelosi.

Oh, neither party is perfect. Trump and Sanders are at least exposing that, even if they don’t get the nomination.
So,what are you saying?Nancy Pelosi deserved a pay increase while in Congress because her wealth is really due to her husband?Hmmmm interesting thought process:rolleyes:

I think with Trump what you see is what you get. No, he’s not a smooth talker; he’s not a politician. I don’t expect him to be a smooth talker with an answer for every question. I think that’s one of his strengths. I think he genuinely wants to right a lot of wrongs in the US. Can he? I don’t know.

I have allowed myself to feel greatly disappointed/angry with posts that cleverly support abortion, through advocating those that provide the ways and means to continue horrific slaughter.

It brings to mind the role the Pharisees in the New Testament - how Jesus revealed their vile play on words to entrap and destroy His teachings. When Our Lord exposed evil - everyone understood!

It is trickery to claim you would never have an abortion but since its legal, it doesn’t stop you from voting an ardent supporter and dealer with abortion into a powerful power position.

Where are the good Sisters that taught children - academics and our Catholic Faith? Not very many left are there? Also, where is the Catholic Faith taught in Catholic schools that still exist? Catholic universities? How many teach our Faith in its Truth? Ave Maria in Florida, I know, is probably at the top of the list. Franciscan U. in Steubenville, Ohio, next.

Liberal feminism taken to extreme levels has destroyed women more than any other cultural failure.

Hipocracy is the word that fits.

No, of course not. I said I was sick of “Washington insiders” who only cared about themselves. That includes Repubs and Dems. Congress didn’t need and doesn’t need a pay raise.

Catholic parents have a duty to teach their children the sanctity of ALL life and teach them while they are young. If they did that, abortions would drop dramatically.

No-one will ever build this wall, it is essentially a piece of hyperbole that has now reached its sell by date and which should be disposed of.

Well, if you don’t understand the difference between a doer and a talker, maybe you need some real life experience.

As for the wall, we’ll just have to wait and see.

I could also ask Donald for some training I suppose as apparently he is rather good at building walls. No-one is going to build such a wall said:
Why don’t you give it a break? you are not american. I can’t understand why you’d so be concerned that our country might try something that won’t work.

Edited: the bold font is to separate my text from yours not to make a scene. The quotation function is messing me up.

There is no explanation necessary. I believe trump and you don’t. End of story.

Go ahead and congratulate yourself then. I’m not here to convince you who are not even a voter.
