I can’t do that. Her abortion stance loses her my support.I don’t like her abortion stance, but I will vote for her.

This may not be good for my personal safety, but I’m starting to feel like there’s a strong similarity between the Republican demonization of Hillary and the Dem demonization of Ted.I wont vote, and I don’t think anything will change between now and November that will make me run to vote.
Her stance on abortion is not adequate, but that is not all she stands for. The woman by all stretch of the imagination is no, sacred politician bc the woman has trucks and trucks of skeletons in her closet, but considering who the republicans might put up, she would be the best bet.
Excellent list; I will pass it along to others. Is there some reason why the Democratic Party Platform; the official credo of the party, is ignored here? Abortion has been a plank in the platform for decades. The last one (2012)put it this way:
“The Democratic Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman’s right to make decisions regarding her pregnancy, including a safe and legal abortion, regardless of ability to pay. We oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right”
Now, as to the above list of asserted Democrat “values”, one has to ask oneself just how much progress has been made on any of those in the last 7 1/2 years. Indeed, virtually every one of them has worsened during the Democrat administration. Let’s look a bit:
Civil Rights…Homosexual marriage, suing the Lutheran Church and Little Sisters of the Poor to make them violate conscience.
Education. …Continued decline in quality, and Hillary opposes vouchers for private schools.
Energy Independence… Obama’s “war on coal” is just about won. Fracking forbidden on government land. Blocked Keystone Pipeline.
Environment… EPA spill into the Colorado River and WOTUS, putting the army in charge of every river, creek, spring and farm pond in America.
Health Care. …The disaster of Obamacare.
Immigration Reform… Open borders, nothing else.
Jobs and the Economy…Lowest labor participation rate in 40 years. Growth rate on the verge of going negative again.
National Security…Turned Iraq, Egypt and Libya over to terrorist organizations. Russian conquest of about half of Ukraine. Importation of terrorists into the U.S.
Open Government…Withholding over 30,000 Clinton documents. Jonathan Gruber’s “true” statement about Obamacare deceptions.
Retirement Security…No difference at all. Obama did propose government takeover of IRAs and 401ks, but it didn’t get anywhere.
Science and Technology…No change.
Voting Rights…No change.
At some point, one really has to admit those “values” are not actually held by the party. They’re just cant.
But Obama has put two abortionist justices on the Supreme Court. He has done that.
Some people still think the Republican party of Lincoln is the Republican party of today. Some people still think the Dem party of 1962 is the Dem party of today. It’s not by a long way, but some do still think so.
Is there really though? A legitimate possibility? It isn’t, though, at least not yet. There’s still the possibility of a moderate Republican … presumably Kasich.
Well, as I told someone else moderates – that is, Kasich and Rubio – have received, combined, 29% of the vote cast thus far, compared with Cruz’s 28% and Trump’s 38% (or Trump-and-Carson’s 41%). That’s not exactly a rosy picture for Kasich … but just maybe when you factor in the head-to-head polls that show that Kasich does better against Clinton than Cruz does (and much better than Trump does), well, call it a maybe? Is there really though? A legitimate possibility?
Kasich is perhaps the only GOP candidate that doesn’t scare the socks off every progressive I know. And it’s not as though they share his values – they don’t. But I think many wish there were a John McCain running this time around. For many, Kasich seems like the closet thing to a grown-up on the right.Well, as I told someone else moderates – that is, Kasich and Rubio – have received, combined, 29% of the vote cast thus far, compared with Cruz’s 28% and Trump’s 38% (or Trump-and-Carson’s 41%). Personally, though, I’m a moderate Republican who would be OK with Cruz.![]()
What makes you think it is not? Some people still think the Republican party of Lincoln is the Republican party of today.
And some people think the Democrat Party is different from the party of the KKK . In truth Democrat policies have resulted in the deaths of more African-Americans than every white supremacy group in history combinedSome people still think the Republican party of Lincoln is the Republican party of today.
Manafort Tells RNC Trump Has a Different Private Persona
In the meeting, Manafort cast Trump as playing a part aimed at winning over his core supporters.
“He [Trump] gets it,” Manafort said, and “the part that he’s been playing is evolving into the part that now you’ve been expecting, but he wasn’t ready for because he had to first feed the first phase.”
Wow. Well, we can’t say they lied to us.Manafort insisted that Trump’s deep unpopularity nationwide, fueled by months of unapologetic bluster on the campaign trail, would be easily remedied when the candidate shifts gears. In contrast, Hillary Clinton’s negatives are character driven and baked-in, Manafort argued.

My brain. What makes you think it is not?
I would agree with you on that footage. Upon first viewing it, I was disturbed by her laughter. Everybody I know whose seen it found it distasteful. It certainly wasn’t a normal reaction to hearing about a sadistic death, though she did say later on that the grisly details of his death had not emerged yet. Still, he was executed without trial and one should never rejoice in the death of any human being. I wouldn’t wish Khaddafi’s fate on my worst enemy. But in truth, MB, I don’t think she has anything remotely approaching normal human compassion. I really didn’t give it a lot of thought until I saw three things. First, her mocking the torture-death and sodomizing of Khaddaffi and then laughing about it; worse, doing it on film. I am no diagnostician, but it’s well known that sociopaths frequently don’t realize it when they demonstrate what most would consider serious heartlessness, because they don’t have normal reactions to it themselves.
**Even Clinton’s expression in the Situation Room photo, most notably the fact that she covers her mouth with her hand, tells a story. Commenting for the Washington Post, dance critic Sarah Kaufman remarks that,“It is Hillary Clinton who seizes the audience. With the gesture of the hand to the mouth, as if making a gasp, she is expressive, emotional and human, a Casandra who stands out amid the lockjawed, impassive ensemble.” The gesture of recoil registers simultaneously the horror of death while acknowledging its necessity.
When contrasted with the glee (from members of the public) that showed that bin Laden’s death was not grievable, Clinton’s recoil returns to these events a proper accounting of death; juxtaposed against the spectral image of Bin Laden’s gruesome corpse and unseemly jubilation that erupted after news of his death was broadcast, the Situation Room photograph can be interpreted as an implicit defence of the former and indirect rebuke of the latter.
This is a photo of Clinton snapped in private. No laughing here. She’s very sombre. The serious, somber faces of Obama and Clinton seem to refute any claims that the decision to kill was reckless and to provide an air of gravity that tempers the revelers’ triumphal displays **
I’m coming to believe that. This really has been the most disturbing primary season.I am no diagnostician, but it’s well known that sociopaths frequently don’t realize it when they demonstrate what most would consider serious heartlessness, because they don’t have normal reactions to it themselves.
I’ve never seen a politician admit so openly to being a phony. The most astonishing thing is that no one seems to care.Wow. Well, we can’t say they lied to us.
Deja vu sister.Manafort Tells RNC Trump Has a Different Private Persona
In the meeting, Manafort cast Trump as playing a part aimed at winning over his core supporters.
Ben Carson, March 11: There are two different Donald Trumps
Donald Trump, March 11: Perhaps there are two Donald Trumps
Donald Trump, March 11: I don’t think there’s two Donald Trumps
I agree with your well thought out post. I think Hillary, like all people, can be awkward in some difficult situations. However, I don’t think that’s sociopathy at all, and I don’t think Hillary is a sociopath. Not at all. I think as you do, that she is very complicated.I would agree with you on that footage.
That said, I’m not sure if her reaction - disturbing as it does appear on the surface - can be equated with a sociopathic disorder.
I think that’s perhaps taking a step too far, based on little evidence. It may be that she is lacking in certain social graces in public. The laughter looked feigned to me. It was as if she wanted to put on an image and it was most definitely the wrong one. That might be more of a social issue than a lack of empathy, or indeed nerves. Some people laugh at funerals - not because they are sociopaths but just because their emotions are heightened and its how it gets manifested in them. Nerves. Strange for most people but not an indication of callousness.
For instance, there was this rally where she started barking like a dog - talking about some advert in Arkansas. It was pretty weird too watch and extremely awkward. I almost felt sorry for her. It was as if she was trying so hard to appear fun, jokey and likeable. She just couldn’t pull it off. I could see faces in the audience looking bemused. To me, that suggests a social issue of some sort.
Her reaction to the death of Osama Bin Laden in the famous situation room photo looked very feminine to me - as the only woman at the front, she appeared genuinely shocked and horrified by what she was seeing:
http://www.frugal-cafe.com/public_h...g-real-time-of-killing-of-osama-bin-laden.jpg
She looked very human here, the most human in the photograph. Now, it could have been an allergy to something in the room that made her cover her mouth (as she claimed later on jokingly), but I think she was embarrassed after the photo since she was the only one gasping in shock. She doesn’t ever want to appear “weak”, I can sense that in her. Maybe I’m naive but I feel we may have seen a glimpse of something human and deeply feminine in this photograph, beneath her sometimes steely or awkward facade.
I generally side with Graham Greene when he said that “Human nature is not black and white but black and grey”. Very few people are white or black. Most of us are varying shades of grey. Perhaps we should extend the same presumption to Mrs Clinton as well?
I will admit that despite my derision for his public persona, I do not know Mr Trump personally. He might be decent to his friends and family. I judge his public persona and credentials for the presidency based upon it alone, not his conscience or lack thereof - which I cannot possibly read.
So what is Mr. Manafort talking about? What part is Donald Trump playing? Has he just been acting a part?“He gets it,” Manafort told RNC members Thursday. “The part that he’s been playing is now evolving into the part that you’ve been expecting. The negatives will come down, the image is going to change, but ‘Crooked Hillary’ is still going to be ‘Crooked Hillary.’ ”
