Trump's incompetence makes Andrew Cuomo's performance look better than it is

The predictions were 2 million, then 200,000.

This is a pandemic of an infectious virus. President Trump cannot control the actions of every single person living in our country. Most deaths have occurred in 7-8 states. Perhaps the governors there should be looking at how they handled the
crisis.

We have many unhealthy people in our country. Many have conditions that made their chance of surviving covid-19 slim.

85,066 now…weird that under 200 million is somehow acceptable…I guess if a million abortions are predicted and only 800,000 are performed, its a victory?

Sadly, seems culture of death runs both sides of the political spectrum.

I didn’t claim they were going to die anyway. Some might have beenn obese with
diabetes, some just with diabetes or just obese, some with high blood pressure, some with
breathing problems, some with compromised immune systems, some might be
smokers.

It is not that they were going to die anyway, it is they had underlying health conditions
that complicated recovery from covid-19 or made it more severe and harder for
the patient to survive.

And there were probably some who were healthy, but still died.

We are in uncharted territory here.

No idea of how Cuomo handled the pandemic at the very beginning. That said, the Cuomos have been friends with Anthony Fauci for decades and I expect it didnt take long for Fauci to correct the governor.

What I wrote elsewhere: New York has had 27,000 deaths out of the nation’s 80,000, just under one-third. At least 40% of those deaths occurred among nursing home residents, which were required by Cuomo’s health department to accept people leaving the hospital regardless of virus status.

There are similar reports from NJ and CA.

Those nursing home deaths are the result of the (interestingly, all Dem) governors’ decisions, not Trump’s.

A lot of people participated in a lot of decisions, and a lot of experts were saying different things at the beginning of this pandemic. Trump, not being an epidemiologist himself, relied on those who had that expertise.

Hindsight is 20/20. It is easy to say now that this should have been done or that should have happened sooner.

So, you agree with the President’s taking NO responsibility in getting to where we have ended up?

“Judge not” does not give him a pass!
 
I think one’s view of where we have ended up and why can differ between people.

Mostly I blame the virus, not the people trying to deal with it. We all have things come upon us, and sometimes it seems like dumb luck as to how we come out of those things.
 
You seem to think humans have a natural right NOT to get sick. What do you mean “responsibility in getting to where we have ended up?”

Humans get sick. Humans die. We have experienced a global pandemic. People are getting sick from covid-19 all over the world. Some patients are surviving and
some patients are not. This is not just happening in the U.S.

Your cavalier comments about President Trump are tiresome.

You seem to be ignoring the governors of Louisiana, California, Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Massachusettes, New Jersey and New York. These
9 states have over half of the deaths in our country. This is a fact you seem to
overlook.

highest death toll.

Notice the death ckock is in Cuomo’s state.
 
And how many of those who died caught the virus due to Democrat rules which Trump had nothing to do with?

The reality is that we had a sudden onset of a virus which had difficult attributes, which we knew little about, and which no one caused.

Sure, mistakes were made but that is the nature of humanity. We are not God, so we do not know everything when we need to make decisions.

To blame all the deaths on Trump shows more about you than it does about Trump.
