Yes!!

Genesis 1:24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.

Genesis 1:25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Job 40:15Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Job 40:16Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
Job 40:17He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
Job 40:18His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.

Moving or swinging a tail like a cedar tree: = behemoth = dinosaur.
Thank you kindly for your answer.
I like your attempts here to prove this.
Anyway, how would you say that we should take the 600 or so mitzva or commandments in the Old Testament. Were these only for the Jews or should Christians today follow them. For example, there is the prohibition on eating pork and the prohibition against women to wear men’s clothing, which some have interpreted as pants.

Nobody has to give a clingon a catholic burial !
First, it’s Klingon.

Second, Klingons go to Sto’vo’kor (Klingon heaven) or Gre’Thor (Klingon hell) after they die. 😉

ChristIsTheway corrected me (subtly) in post #5 and I illustrated my acknowledgement of the correction in post #9 (even though there is no such thing as a Klingon, there is such a thing as a cling-on, and there is such a thing as spelling).
  • “Captain to the bridge : Number One, please send a memo to LCMS_No_More that not reading all the posts is an offense punishable in Gre’Thor (and tell me Number One - When did Klingons learn how to use apostrophes?).” *
Or perhaps you’d enjoy the original Star Trek’s “Bones” - Dr. McCoy, (I can’t believe you made me google that to make sure the name was spelled correctly) expressing his frustration to Captain Kirk " Damn it Jim!..I’m not a man - I’m a doctor."

How fortuitous that you should mention Sto’vo’kor. Why,I just sent a Klingon there yesterday (I even flushed twice to make sure he made it all the way). 😃

ps Hmmm… no Klingon Purgatory (ergo Mercy). I’ll stick with Jesus and humans thankyou.

Hey, I’m a geek. So sue me. 😉

You - LCMS_No_More, ChristIsTheWay and I all agree that Star Trek has great entertainment value (a little bit of the geek in all of us perhaps…?) ; I was just trying to squeeze a little more entertainment out of it in the hope of spreading a few more smiles around CA Forum. Without your cooperation’s sustaining force it’s only half as funny.

If aliens existed, the Bible would say so. Period.
The Bible does say everything and have the full truth on everything. But one have to know how to read it.

In math for example, a formulat may saying everything in just few 3 words.

But one have to know how millions other formulas can be derived from that simple formula.

In the Bible for example. God created everything. So aliens are surely included, whether they are real physical beings, angels, or demons, they are God’s creatures and I don’t see anything wront with Vatican saying that it is okay to believe that they might exists.

Just because we dont see something specified in the Bible it does not mean it is not there. The Bible does not say anything specifically about cloning, but we know it does.

Again, we should remember that the ‘pillar of truth’ is the Church not the Bible. Jesus left a Church not a Bible. It is as the ‘pillar of truth’ that the Church declared the Bible infallible word of God, and it is for the same reason that we believe it.

So instead of considering that JPII is contradicting the teaching of the CC, it is wise to consider that you may be missing something, or reading something wrong.

God bless

I believe they exist and it makes sense as God can create all that He pleases.

About ET intelligence.

I think we should not get too excited or chocked.

I believe if they were to show up, it would be just an other case of exploration of the universe.

Man have always discovered and explored his neighbourhood, that’s how the 'american continent was discovered for example.
And discovering are continuing on the Moon, Mars, etc…and will go on as long as man has capacity to do so.

The fact is. Truth can not contradict truth. If ET are there, the they are spoken off in the Bible one way or an other. The most basic way being that they are just creatures like we are. And I believe it is in this sense that the Vatican scientist called them ‘brothers’. They are creatures just like us.

What would be interesting would be to explore what kind of intelligence they have. Do they write? Do they go to school? did they ‘sin’? do they have a sens of ‘religion’ ?

Sometimes I wonder what things would be like if man had not sinned. Galaxies would be full of Adam childreen. After all, if no man would ever have been killed, and if no man would have died (since death is a result of sin) where would all be???

God bless

The sumerians believed that we are designed by a superior race that needed precious metals to sustain there own planet.
They spliced the genes of Neandathol with there own and created man to mine the earth for them…
They needed Gold for there Atmosphere and when they didnt need us no more was going to let us perish in the great flood…
Aparently there was 12 differant species of Alien, 1 good 1 bad…
The rest were indifferant, The bad wanted us to perish and the good wanted to keep us for other reasons.
The good decided to warn a certain person of this big avent and save what he could…
They created another Dimension for fast travel to and from there planet and left behind another being that was neither Man or God…
We call them the greys but they called them the Watchers.
The watchers are what we see when people cry Ufo, They abduct humans and take sperm samples and other things back to show God how Humans are doing.
They also try to make sure that the Bad race dont get through too, We call them Demons etc… But they guard the portals of ours and the next World…
So you can joke about klingons and stuff but this stuff happens and we should open our eyes to just see what goes on sometimes…

I would remind all catholics on this thread that the apparition of the Virgin Mary at La Salette addresses the subject of these beings and their transports.

Saint Anthony of the desert also had an encounter with an “other-wordly” artifact. It is curious to note that he uttered an excorcism:

“You will not hinder my purpose [with this] by this, Satan; let this thing perish with thee”.

And “it” disappeared.

Beware of the “great deception” of Lucifer, contained in all the new-age and ultra-modernist rhetoric.

Gospa Mir.

Haven’t you gotten the memo, a lot of churches are using “For us and for our salvation”…see the feminists thought it was a bow to gender inclusive language (GAG) but it was really alien inclusive language. 😉

I hope everyone is looking up La Salette and Saint Anthony of the desert.

Could you please show the least amount of decency and stop discriminating against the androids ?

NO…THEATRICS…YES
The question concerned whether or not there were philosophical problems with the existence of aliens. My comment is that the authorities in the Vatican are known to have studied philosophy and apparently those experts in the Vatican who are saying that it is OK for Catholics to believe in aliens do not see a contradiction between belief in aliens and Catholic philosophy.

I don’t believe in Aliens because I believe that modern technology would have proved their existence already. With cell phone cameras and high powered telescopes, it seems probable that UFOs would have been documented with proof that would prove beyond the point of debate that they existed. But this is not the case. There is not a video that comes close to closing this debate. And that is the only thing that would prove the existence of UFOs to me.

And I think people like Walter Kronkite who say they were taken up by aliens are delusional to the point of near mental illness or just liars. Sorry if I offended anybody who was really taken up but that is my view.
