It’s still something they bring up to obfuscate the issue.

“Hitler was bad. You agree, right?”
“I think Stalin and Mao and Pol Pot were bad and that should be acknowledged too.”
“Fair, but specifically on the subject of Hitler, we’d agree…bad?”
”Communism killed lots of people too.”
Exactly. 👍

No I’m not banned. I thought I would be as the poster in question was not banned at the time I posted this.
I’m telling you, dude, there’s a magical place with all the good parts of CAF without all the dumb political food fights and conspiracy nonsense. PM me.

Holy crow. Where have you seen any of this?
I agree. @StudentMI this is a post unlike you. Where on earth have you seen anybody arguing for white nationalism on this forum? You may have seen some people not supportive of the BLM movement, or perhaps not agreeing with the premises that the police force in the USA is racist, but to think any of this might be supportive of white nationalism is certainly a stretch.

As stated, I gave an example and as others have pointed out it’s a problem. I don’t know why people are so offended by calling out racism on this forum.

You did give an example, but in a later post you also stated that the forum had degenerated into this, as if if to say there is so much of it on here now. I would say one of two posters with disturbing views isn’t some type of plague of racism.

Also, Jesus and Mary are not Jews. They were Jewish while on earth. If we are to believe the visions/apparitions people have had of them, they have appeared in many ‘colours’. Race is a wordley construct and is meaningless to God.

I don’t think anyone is uncomfortable with calling out racism on the forum, but I mean, the place is closing down soon, so it isn’t like anything much is going to happen now. As I mentioned, there really isn’t very much of it here.

It is an extreme minority and those posters have since been banned.

That does not disprove the fact that there are posters, however few in number who do not hold Catholic views of human dignity.

Also, Jesus and Mary are not Jews.
Consider this: Judas had to identify Jesus when he betrayed him. That means Jesus looked so typical of the people of that time he was indistinguishable.

Yeah as a person. You said Jesus ‘is’ a Jew and Mary ‘is’ a Jew. They are not Jews in the realm they are in now, although, I’m aware you said you were leaving the Catholic Church not so long ago, so I’m not sure what you believe about that these days.

Every thing you said about Jesus color of his skin is unknown. There is no proof if he were light skinned or dark skinned. I have studied and read there were light skin jews as well as dark skin jews. We simply dont know, what you wrote fits your narrative.

Why the problem with Jesus being dark skinned? Have you seen the reconstruction of what a typical 1st century Jew looked like? He doesn’t look European.

Yes, there is an overlap of white supremacist ideology and he-man women haters.

I hope you had forwarded the death threats to moderation.

That’s completely unacceptable.

Who in this thread said he looked european? Lightskinned doesnt mean european.

I was giving it as an example. Have you seen the reconstruction? I can find it if you like.

And what narrative am I going by that says Jesus had to have dark skin? He was a first century middle eastern Jew. I’m using common sense.

I don’t know what he looked like but I have to admit, I don’t think he looked liked that (certainly not going by the Shroud of Turin).

But there were are are light skinned jewish people. So you might or might not be right. But in the end, I really dont care what skin color jesus had. Doesnt change my belief system. For you it seems to be important.

“In 2001 forensic anthropologist Richard Neave created a model of a Galilean man for a BBC documentary, Son of God, working on the basis of an actual skull found in the region. He did not claim it was Jesus’s face. It was simply meant to prompt people to consider Jesus as being a man of his time and place, since we are never told he looked distinctive.”

I’ve agreed with many of your posts during my time here, but to me this is an odd one. Of course racism is bad. Who’s disagreeing? I’ve honestly never seen a single racist post on this forum, and I’ve seen all kinds of trolls and infuriating posts. Maybe I’ve just missed them all. But I don’t feel it has been an issue during this forum’s lifetime.
