Do you truly think that the majority of Catholics will vote simply on the abortion and contraception issue, and ignore all the other social justice issues?
Social Justice issues??? Oh you mean such as the trampled 1st ammendment issue of Religious Freedom being the first American Right? Thinking involves not knowing. What is known is there has always been the 35-40% who strickly follow church teaching in obedience. They are those who choose to preserve the integrity of life. And often in humble silence. They will be out today to speak with there Vote for the first time. 👍

To heck with history!! Let’s just wait until tomorrow night and Wednesday morning to see the results. At this point, polls don’t mean anything.
Agreed, predictors are on both sides, someone will be way wrong. I hope Romney wins but it’s certainly up in the air to me. Those who are sure either way can tell us they predicted it right and have bragging rights. A lot of wishful thinking may be out there as well and we really can’t trust the polls either.

This Benghazi affair coud present big problems for Obama even if he survives the election. MSM has been his lapdog.

I am unaffiliated and I care about the poor…just don’t want them to BECOME DEPENDENT ON GOVERNMENT HANDOUTS (there is way too much fraud in food stamps, too). That’s why I support my local Catholic Social Services, including their home for women fleeing abortion and domestic violence AND my parish’s Saint Vincent De Paul Society council. I also give money to pro life groups like Priests for Life. I want our economy to improve (which would help many get out of poverty because if the economy improves, so does JOB AVAILABILITY), so I did not vote for Pres. Obama, who has done very little to help the economy,
Great point, Federal Government is doing practically nothing in the areas hit by Sandy. Better for charities to do it and for the citizens to be generous with charity, which they are but not in the land of bureacracy.

Was at the door to vote at 6am. The line was full and steady behind me.

Obama ends campaign in half empty arena
http://cdn.breitbart.com/mediaserver/Breitbart/Big-Government/2012/11/05/ObamaEmpty.png
President Obama’s big rally tonight turned out to be just like his first, opening salvo of the 2012 campaign: a half-empty arena in Ohio. According to RealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy, there were “empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena … Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that …” The event even featured Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z, and Obama still couldn’t fill it out.
As it turns out, the empty seats didn’t look exactly “scattered.” They looked like substantial portions of the upper bowl of the arena, according to photos tweeted by those in attendance:
And thus the Obama campaign comes full circle: from tepid open to lukewarm close in Ohio.

Not just the 35%to 40% of obedient Catholics. Consider all the Evangelicals who sat out in 2008. They are expected to come out in droves for Romney in 2012. In Ohio alone, over 350,000 Evangelicals who didn’t vote last election are expected to cast their vote for Romney this time.

Interesting opinion. How many Catholics go to mass? How many pay any attention to their bishops? How many agree with, and follow Church guidance on contraception, for example? Do you truly think that the majority of Catholics will vote simply on the abortion and contraception issue, and ignore all the other social justice issues?

Unlike our Forum posters for whom abortion is the alpha and omega issue, most other Catholics, and this is just my opinion, aren’t as obsessed with it as our people here.

If they are Republicans, I believe that their prime issue are the economy and job creation, and if Democrats, health care and “social justice” issues along with the economy and job creation.

Contraception? No different than other Americans. Abortion? More concern than other Americans, but not so much as to sway an election.

If I’m wrong, I haven’t yet seen anything to contradict my personal observation. 🤷

I tend to agree but only based on anecdotal observation of some of my Catholic friends’ views, and they are not really practicing Catholics.

Everyone should be “obsessed” with the murder of 55 million babies in the womb. It is an intrinsic evil that has no equal.

The courts can straighten out whether any religious freedom issues have been threatened. So far, the arguments are not convincing.

Sorry, the authority is the Constitution NOT the Courts. Not being an American, you can not understand this.

And who is it who interprets the Constitution? Why, it’s the Courts! As an American, you should know that. 🤷

So are we talking about how the Black Panthers are out in front of at least one polling station in Philly today?
