How can crippling the Church from doing her mission of helping the poor and helping people to know the gospel not be an attempt to destroy the Church?
As I see it, an “attempt” is a positive action. I do not see Obama consciously deciding to destroy the Church, attempting to do so. I think that what the Church is up against is the collateral damage from his exercising his plans for America.

I think you are wrong about the exemptions. I teach in a Catholic school and I am not covered even though there are many non catholics in our school. You might want to check out the actual bill.
Its not a bill. its a mandate forced upon Americans by the Obama Admin & HHS Secretary!!!

Dick Morris just doubled down on his prediction: Romney wins 325 electoral votes and by a 5% margin in the popular vote. Wow!

Now, I’m Republican, but I am not quite so bold as Mr. Morris. Do you think he would be willing to share whatever he’s smoking with us? 🙂

I hope he’s right, or at least close.

Newt Gingrich just said Romney will win over 300 electoral votes and 53% of the popular vote. I am delighted to see such optimism, but we will have to see how reality plays out. Nail it, Newt!

I respect your position as well, Dave. I have nothing against those here who chose to vote for Gov. Romney, and I trust that there wil be no rancor in the aftermath of the election regardless who wins.

I in like manner to you will never accept Romney as any other than The President, should he win. I respect the office and by extension, the man holding it, but Romney at his best leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I dislike Ryan as well… As for Obama, dislike is the softest epithet I can use about him. I reject the notion that he is conspiring to destroy the Church, but his policies cripple the Church from carrying out its mission and he is indifferent to the damage he is doing to the Church.

I don’t mean to be uncharitable, but at this time “a pox on both your houses” best encapsulates.my feelings about the two parties. 😦
Rich, if I have ever offended you I apologise and I would like to commend you for your honesty here. While I am a Canadian and can’t vote, if I could vote it would be for Romney but that doesn’t mean that I am “ga ga” over him.

I predict Obama will win.

I hope Romney will win.

Either way, I have absolutely zero faith in this country.

Romney just because Obama’s base is less motivated and it’s not possible for Republicans to be less motivated than when McCain was running.

Another four years of Obama is my feeling.

Due to the following observations:

The Halloween Mask Count- (many more chose to wear Obama masks. Apparently, since 1995, this “test” has been 100 % accurate in predicting who wins the election.

Gas prices down. (whether co-incidental or not.)

Two key Republicans grateful for the President’s recent help and the feeling of bi-partisanship that some will feel from that.

The number of people who will (unfortunately) cast their vote for a Pro-Choice president.

Hollywood stars for Obama.

Number of Obama supporters in my neighborhood this week knocking on doors.

Number of Democratic phone callers/polsters, etc. who called me this week.

Some Lobbyists (and Democratic fundraisers) would rather stay with the incumbent than “swap horses mid stream.”

Every vote counts, vote your conscience and whomever is elected, God is in charge. He can either work with the person in the Oval Office or in spite of him. I’ll pray for whomever is elected, and like everyone here, will continue to listen to my conscience and work for a better world. I believe both candidates have the best intentions. How they see the future and their methods of problem solving are very different. I just put my faith in God and pray He inspires all our elected representatives to be good stewards and to do what is right.

I can’t believe someone has to explain this now! This happened WAY BACK IN FEBRUARY.

Everyone at that school will have to be covered by insurance, and here are the choices:
  1. the school will continue to self-insure and pay $100 per day per employee for a grand total of $36,500 per employee per year in penalties for this one thing, or
  2. the school will drop all insurance and pay $2000 per employee per year fine plus you will pay penalties to punish you, or
  3. the school will close.
Those are the choices.

The polls are all weighted up for more Democrats than Republicans but if you go look at Gallup’s polling average from TODAY, they have an even number of Dems & REpublicans.

They weight for all the other parameters and let party ID be an outcome. The outcome today nationally is D+0. Flat. The polls are overestimating Obama’s chances anyplace from D+0 to D+13 (I kid you not). The ones with D+0 have Romney winning.

The same thing is happening on the state level. A lot of the polls are oversampling for Democrats and the results are just plain bogus on some of them. That’s why they seem like they’re all over the place. They are!

I thought he said Romney would win by as much as 8% last week on the O’Reilly Factor?!!

Sadly, I’m starting to believe your mantra. I just hit the 55 year-old threshold, so I’ve seen America change over five decades plus. And it’s not pretty, YTC. The concepts of family, church, marriage, and patriotism (Mom, baseball. apple pie, the flag) have dissipated over the years. I was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army once. Now, I live in an America that has passed me by. I don’t have issues with the various waves of immigration from all over the world. It revitalizes our population. However, I don’t like the idea of the ‘American mosaic’ fostered by Bill Clinton; I enjoyed the previous ideal of an ‘American melting pot’. I preferred an America where everyone set aside their prior national identity to become an American, a citizen of the greatest nation on Earth. Instead, we’ve just had a President who apologized for the actions of America over the years. He has helped create an atmosphere of divisiveness beyond any I’ve seen. People of various races, religions, and socioeconomic classes are in constant conflict. I could go on and on … sorry.
