In comments after the ruling, Biden said he was not happy with the decision and said if elected he would overturn President Trump’s rule protecting the Catholic nuns and Christians Americans who don’t want their tax dollars to pay for killing babies.

Biden said, “As disappointing as the Supreme Court’s ruling is, there is a clear path to fixing it: electing a new President who will end Donald Trump’s ceaseless attempts to gut every aspect of the Affordable Care Act. If I am elected, I will restore the Obama-Biden policy that existed before the Hobby Lobby ruling.”

That policy is the Obama abortion mandate that Christian churches, businesses, colleges and religious orders had to take to court because it would compel them to pay potentially millions of dollars in fines for refusing to obey its mandate to fund abortion pills in their health insurance plans.
Gee, and those partial birth abortions that the Democrats champion, saying what that process is, really can’t be repeated in polite company and being against such measures as the Born Alive Infant Protection Act that some Democrats are against. It’s pretty scary.

Mrs Clinton won the popular vote.
We didn’t have a popular vote. We don’t do that in this country. If we did, the voting process would be totally different and the candidates would campaign differently. The only thing she won was a long overdue respite from government.

The score was 304 - 227. She got her lunch handed to her.

Excuse me but someone flagged this post and had it removed:
It’s silly but not as hilarious as them screaming “racist” because someone thinks their obsession with Black People’s inferior intelligence (per their reconning) is a racist attitude. No one is more snow-flakey than an alt-righter, especially if they think they’ve masked their alt-right attitudes well then slipped and had someone highlight the oopsie revelation.
Is it against CAF rules to criticize the alt-right now? Are they “a protected class”? And if you are not one, why does this post sting so much you must flag it? I remember moderators removing a youtube video of a Catholic Black woman talking about her experiences in the pro-life movement and disappointment when they didn’t support the black victims of police brutality. Is CAF a Catholic forum or a conservative one? I have flagged posts that were clearly derailing or impolite which remained untouched and now apparently, a critique of the alt-right is removed. Quite strange to say the least.

Absolutely they (Republicans) voter shame too. Both parties and their bases have a “Vote Blue/Red no matter who” peer-pressure thing going.

Leaf, this exchange makes me wonder what social media would have looked like when Americans were under rationing and blackout orders. Can you imagine??
The federal government would be within it’s bounds to institute rationing and blackout orders during war. It was within it’s bounds to issue the lockdown in order to protect the healthcare system and ramp up medical supply production to flatten the curve and because we didn’t know for sure what we were dealing with. It would have been impossible to mandate masks early on when supply was an issue and at time experts didn’t think they would help.

Right now, a national mandate isn’t necessary. Could it become necessary? Maybe if this evolving situation gets to that level but we aren’t there currently. Local ones may be when severe spikes hit certain areas. The CDC is on the verge of of downgrading Covid from an epidemic.

Countries that were hit before ours have had their share of “pandemic wack-a-mole.” We were warned this would happen and would be dealt with where needed. I’m not against national mandates when it’s within the Federal Government’s jurisdiction like protecting the national supply chain or keeping the healthcare system from collapsing at the onset of a pandemic. I am against them when the Fed. gov’t is overstepping it’s bounds in controlling citizens.

However, as things stand now with the supply chain more secure, stockpiles built up, and some areas doing better than others, I really don’t see the point in a national mandate for masking when 1) the feds can’t enforce it 2) local police departments everywhere don’t have time to do it 3) recommendations for masking are in place and the public is aware they are a good idea 4) it’s not as necessary in rural areas that are spread out and have not seen great infection numbers 5) the use of cloth masks are questionable and highly variable as to what they can prevent. Can anyone say how much protection they offer? 6) American adults are not children and are capable of making their own risk assessment for themselves.

I’m sorry. Can you be more specific as to the root cause of what? Do you mean the problems the US currently has?

Not sure if you are asking if I had the post flagged or not by your comment, but I can assure you I have never done such a thing. I could care less what people post on the forum.

If the mods did pull it for the alt right comment itself, they missed the reference I made earlier to them.

Does Biden even have that kind of power?

Where to begin? lol

-Higher cost of health care - 1) The gov’t sets prices for Medicare and Medicaid. The health care industry recoups losses for those costs by raising prices for non-gov’t paid services. How to bring down costs? Price setting which dampens innovation and research from the private sector or increase competition to force prices lower.

I’m raising my hand for increased competition.

-Obesity rates. We are overloaded with endless choice and cheap, fattening products. France does well, although their rates are rising as bad habits from our Westernized nations creep in. They have an ingrained culture of being sort of food snobs but it’s much healthier. They are all about quality, fresh, real food cooked simply from scratch. It’s very common to go to the market every day or every few days and only buy fresh fruits, veggies, meat, seafood and bread. Snacking is rare. They are sticklers for taking their time with their meals, sitting down to eat and to pay attention and enjoy what they are eating. They rarely eat on the run. Children might have a healthy after school snack to help them wait for their later dinner times. The lunches in french schools put ours to shame. Here’s two school lunch menus

An appetizer of tomatoes with boiled egg and mayonnaise.
A main course of smoked beef with a gratin of zucchini with new potatoes & béchamel sauce
Organic applesauce and a crêpe with organic compote

Or

Potato salad with diced Emmenthal in vinaigrette
Filet of fresh fish from sustainable sources,
tomatoes and olives
Organic fruit in season. A slab of chocolate marble cake.

We have bad food and bad habits to go with it and we are too sedentary. Good food is too expensive if you are poor and that leads to poor health outcomes and increased costs.

-I like the idea of getting health insurance away from being tied to your job and allowing large, private networks to offer group insurance to create more competition. It sounds good but I admit I don’t know much about any cons to say whether that’s the way we should go.

Trump routinely calls people worse than “clown”. On Twitter and in person… including former staffers / allies that he’s since trashed / mocked / insulted. Why the double standard? There’s name calling on both sides. Constantly on CAF I see references to the evil The Left. It’s hard to define what it is, but everyone is sure that The Left is the Enemy.
