Maybe one should ask why didn’t Jesus teach us the Rosary when He was asked how to pray?
Luke 11:1-13(KJV)…God Bless!
Hello
emeraldcoast,
Still trying uh…still trying to disprove Catholicism are ya?
Do you ever actually read other peoples posts here? Do you ever research any of the points made here, by Catholics to see if they are true or not?
Do you believe that there exists conflict in the Bible? Because, as a Catholic, I do not believe that there is any conflict in the Bible, when view and understood, in context.
The Rosary is a prayer of the Gospels, plain and simple. A handful of Bible verses are not and will not, ever sum-up the entirety of any of Christ’s teachings, on anything, including prayer.
Your verses here, do not exclude the Prayer of the Rosary. This is a good example of how “personal interpretation” of the Bible is a flawed belief.
The Bible, for example, does not say anything about embryonic stem cell research, yet, we as Christians know that it is wrong.
If I were not Catholic and I believed in the error, which is “personal interpretation”, I could say that, “The only prayer that Jesus said that we are to pray, is the Our Father” (the Lord’s Prayer) and nearly every Christian would disagree with this statement, because we as Christians know that that there are many different ways to pray.
There are two main beliefs in non-Catholic Christianity (summerized below) -
- If the Bible does not “say” that we can do something …then we cannot (Calvin)
- If the Bible does not “say” that we cannot do something …then we can. (Luther)
Both of these beliefs, coupled with “personal interpretation” and the lack of any proper guidance, leads to much confusion and to beliefs which are both, anti-biblical and anti-Christian.
In Christianity, there exists a balance and Jesus Christ and Christianity, should not be and cannot be “summed-up”, using a handful of Bible verses.
When we attempt to sum-up Christianity, by using a handful of Bible verses (taken out of context), we minimize Christ and His teachings and in some cases, reach opinions , which are incorrect and a lie and when we repeat these false opinions, we are repeating lies…
The Bible is a “Catholic Book’ and all if it, in one way or another, supports Catholicism.
It crazy to use a “Catholic Book” to attempt to discredit a Catholic belief.
Generally, I believe that most people here, who have a problem with reciting the Rosary, either have a problem with Catholicism and/or, do not understand the Prayer of the Rosary, which I have already explained in great detail here, is a Prayer of the Gospels.
I find it interesting that you haven’t specifically, disputed any of the points that I have made here, in the first few posts, using the Bible, which explains and supports the prayer of the Rosary.
All you have done here, is use “Protestant talking points”, “one-liners” and a handful of Bible verses, which do not prove your points, because they have all been taken and used, out of context.
That’s ok though, I understand, because I know that to “discredit” a Catholic belief, it is necessary for "Protestants’ to “personally interpret” the Bible and to use verses, which have been taken out of context.
If everyone interpreted the Bible correctly, there would exist one Christian denomination and we know that’s not the case.
I hope that you do not limit yourself and that you are honest and keep reading, studying, praying and learning and if you’re lucky, it will lead you to the truth, which is found in Catholicism.
If the Rosary brings someone closer to Christ…then what’s the problem?
Peace.
