And what was that?Actually what Elvis said literally is true, however I knew what the thought was behind what he said.
Fascinating how you can read minds . . .

There have been dumber and more mis-informed reasons for people leaving the catholic church. Enthusiasm is pretty dumb…but, it’s not the dumbest.I very much want to quit the catholic church and become an
Assembly of God member. Am i doomed for hell?
I don’t fit in with the CC, there is no enthusiasm there.
He/she is going to hellHow do they know they have the assurance? Are they sure that once they believed they will not longer sin? And if they are not sure that they will no longer sin so therefore can still sin, isn’t the wages of sin death?
What if a believer dies unrepenting of his/her sins?
I have given this scenario before: a believer who is overtaken by lust, commits rape and was shot while in the act of rape. What happens to him?
Elvis you equate truth with the Catholic Church, so when you say God will lead you to truth you mean God will lead you to the Catholic Church.**And what **was that?
Fascinating how you can read minds . . .![]()
Ummm . . . GOD equates the truth with the Catholic Church (1 Tim. 3:15, Acts 9:4-5), so you’re half right.Elvis you equate truth with the Catholic Church, so when you say God will lead you to truth you mean God will lead you to the Catholic Church.
Tell me Im wrong![]()
So I was right all along. Are you going to apologize.Ummm . . . GOD equates the truth with the Catholic Church (1 Tim. 3:15, Acts 9:4-5), so you’re half right.
It can’t be bad theology if it’s the God-breathed truth of the Scriptures now, CAN it?
If it’s good enough for God - well, then, it’s good enough for me and should be good enough for you . . .

Elvis is right because the Catholic Church is Christ’s Body. If The Church is Christ’s Body and Christ is the Head of the Church, and Christ is the Truth, then the Truth is to be found in the Catholic Church. This is a simple matter of Christ WILLING this to be so,So I was right all along. Are you going to apologize.![]()
AMENElvis is right because the Catholic Church is Christ’s Body. If The Church is Christ’s Body and Christ is the Head of the Church, and Christ is the Truth, then the Truth is to be found in the Catholic Church. This is a simple matter of Christ WILLING this to be so,
Christ promised that the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Christ promised that He will send the Holy Spirit to guide it into all truth. If we believe that Christ is indeed God then we must believe that He will keep His promise.
Are we saying that all other denominations are completely deprived of the truth? Well no.
But whatever truth these other denomninations apprehend came from the truth that the Catholic Church proclaimed. It gets watered down the further the separation from the Church.
This is why the closer other denominations doctrines are to the Catholic Churches doctrine, the closer they are to the truth.
2 hours is short I much prefer the longer services.Who can determine this other than God?
I’ve been to a couple of pentecostal churches but the services literally go for hours (about 2 hours) with way too much music and yippidee-doo-daa which didn’t suit my laid back personality at all.
Now your theology is as bad as Elvis’Elvis is right because the Catholic Church is Christ’s Body. **Like I said - you were half-right. You said that I equated the Church with the truth. **I showed you that God ALSO equates the Church with the truth. So I was right all along. Are you going to apologize.![]()
Sorry, pal - the bad theology spews from your lips - not mine. Now your theology is as bad as Elvis’
Christs body is His Church which is made up of all who believe in Him.
What are the gates of hell?
Christ is the truth and the light. Christ is the very presence of Jesus in and on and around His people. For centuries Roman Catholics have attempted to deny this truth to others that will not succumb to thier enslavement.
Nope, that is your definition. But that is not what the Bible says. From the beginning there was only One Church, the Catholic Church, and those who are being saved are being incorporated into her by baptism. If you have been baptized in the Trinitarian way then you are a member of the Catholic Church, which is Christ’s body. Otherwise, not.Now your theology is as bad as Elvis’
Christs body is His Church which is made up of all who believe in Him.
Hell is the devil’s abode, the devil is the father of lies… therefore…What are the gates of hell?
HUh!!Christ is the truth and the light. Christ is the very presence of Jesus in and on and around His people.
Rubbish. The Catholic Church has never denied THE truth (which is that Christ is the Truth) but your formulation above needs a lot to be desired so there is no need to deny a truth in that instance because there isn’t one.For centuries Roman Catholics have attempted to deny this truth to others that will not succumb to thier enslavement.
No I was entirely right. Where your claim is false is the denial of all true believers as the Body of Christ and as members of Christs Church. That is something you nor manyCatholics are able to reconcile.Like I said - you were half-right. You said that I equated the Church with the truth. I showed you that God ALSO equates the Church with the truth.
This is an argument that most Protestants are unable to reconcile.
There was the Church at Antioch, The Church at Jerusalem, The Church at Alexandreia, The Church at Rome. Then Rome threw the others out proclaiming itself supreme. Rome does a lot of proclaiming and exalting itself as the One True Church, rubbish.Nope, that is your definition. But that is not what the Bible says. From the beginning there was only One Church, the Catholic Church, and those who are being saved are being incorporated into her by baptism. If you have been baptized in the Trinitarian way then you are a member of the Catholic Church, which is Christ’s body. Otherwise, not.
The protestant redefined the church as the body of believers. That’s not what the early Christians meant by it. That is why there is such a thing ex-communication. Those who had erroneous beliefs (heretics) were not considered part of the Body of Christ even though they may “believe” in Christ.
Hell is the devil’s abode, the devil is the father of lies… therefore…
HUh!!
Rubbish. The Catholic Church has never denied THE truth (which is that Christ is the Truth) but your formulation above needs a lot to be desired so there is no need to deny a truth in that instance because there isn’t one.
And these all belonged to the same Catholic and Apostolic Church. It would be like saying the Church in America, in England, Malaysia, etc, etc,. They all belong to the Catholic Church. There was the Church at Antioch, The Church at Jerusalem, The Church at Alexandreia, The Church at Rome.
Not rubbish but fact. Then Rome threw the others out proclaiming itself supreme. Rome does a lot of proclaiming and exalting itself as the One True Church, rubbish.
But how can we be all the same church when we have different beliefs? The Curch which is the congregation of God is defined by its beliefs.
And the only time the gates of hell will have prevailed is if the Church taugh an untruth. But she has been prevented from doing that because Christ sent the Holy Spirit to lead her into all truth. The devil is the father of lies who has coe to rob, kill and destroy. Christ came to destroy the works of the devil. The Church is to carryout that ministry and the gates of hell cannot keep her out nor
keep those still in bondage in.
Well there is no need for bullying, She merely proclaims what is and always TRUE. Protestants on the other hand have taught lies by allowing doctrines that are outright lies and not in conformity with Christ’s teaching. This is evidenced by the ever multiplying number of denominations. For one thing, how did you end from being Pentecostal to being Non-denom. That by itself proves my point. The Catholic Church has always, always bullied those who question the untruth it propogates.
WRONG.No I was entirely right. Where your claim is false is the denial of all true believers as the Body of Christ and as members of Christs Church. That is something you nor manyCatholics are able to reconcile.
These were merely PLACES where the Church existed - NOT "different" Churches. There was the Church at Antioch, The Church at Jerusalem, The Church at Alexandreia, The Church at Rome. Then Rome threw the others out proclaiming itself supreme. Rome does a lot of proclaiming and exalting itself as the One True Church, rubbish.
