He was, in my opinion, having an affair with Daniels,
It’s your opinion. I know you don’t like him or his policies, that’s your right. I never said he was a perfect husband, father or man. He was the best choice at the time. Sorry you can’t understand that answer, but it’s the truth…
You might have said the same thing when Bill Clinton ran. He, for you, might have been the best choice at the time. (He wasn’t for everyone.) So… why do you keep harping like the President is a choir boy. I remember Jimmy Carter–I was a kid–the folks said he was too good to be a president… what’s with that? Let’s let Donald confess his sins and let us confess our own. Unless you are saying you don’t have any. I think that’s in the bible somewhere.

Plus there has been the kind of politician who says politically correct things in public and then says another different thing when the audience changes. I think people got tired of the lies. Go back as far as you want…

I think a lot of these Trump supporters they are simply in denial. It’s difficult to try to converse with them or try to show them the truth, because they already know it and just don’t care.

For others, they are brainwashed. Even showing them a video of Trump having sex with someone other than his wife would not convince them, as they would call the video fake.

Well, if we’re going to cast a vote for president, we have to do some judging, don’t you think?

Trump supporters are much more willing to acknowledge his faults than his opponents are to acknowledge his virtues.

That has not been my experience with Trump supporters at all. Espically online.

Even if this is true, I don’t find this pattern particularly odd or unique to Trump.

This is not related specifically to this particular story, but to Trump in general.

If a husband has an affair, it is not a socially normal reaction to start mentioning the fact that he pays the bills, mows the lawn, and cooks dinner 3 nights a week. That is all beside the point. The issue remains that he is an adulterer.

(Random Example) If somebody abuses their child, it is not a socially normal reaction to start mentioning the fact that he pays the bills, mows the lawn, and cooks dinner 3 nights a week. That is all beside the point. The issue remains.

(Random Example) If somebody is an aggressive alcoholic, it is not a socially normal reaction to start mentioning the fact that he pays the bills, mows the lawn, and cooks dinner 3 nights a week. That is all beside the point. The issue remains.

The point isn’t (or should not be) to take any pleasure in condemning Trump, yet nonetheless, he is a public figure and his conduct can and will come under scrutiny, because he is an executive and representative for over 300 million human beings.

According to my father, who grew up during the Roosevelt years, pretty much everyone knew. My father certainly knew, and he didn’t have inside sources.
I believe he didn’t want voters to see him in a wheelchair, though there are plenty of photos of him in it. But not wanting people to see you in a wheelchair is hardly the same as committing adultery when your wife is pregnant, then paying off the woman you cheated with.

We are not judging whether he should go to heaven or hell, only God knows that. We’re judging his ability to be president of the United States, something we SHOULD do and would be foolish not to do. By your standard, we shouldn’t even tell children not to get into cars with strangers offering them candy, since that would be judgment of a total stranger. We make judgment calls every day that don’t concern heaven or hell. Should no one be a judge? Should no one serve on a jury? There are two kinds of judgments; we are not judging where his eternal home will be, only if his home, for the next three years should be the WH.

Don’t want to. It’s just the product of a dirty and hate-filled mind, and not worthy of response. You’re taking delight in the prospect of an abortion and that’s just disgusting. Typical left, but disgusting all the same.
Translation: You can’t spin it. And, I take no delight in abortion. I’m against abortion. Watch it with the personal attacks, please.

Yes, I keep telling you…the other choice was WORSE!!!
In this discussion, this has absolutely no relevance. We are not voting for anybody. We are not comparing Donald to any other human being. We are talking about Donald and his own comments and actions. Whether Hillary, Bill or Barrack are creeps has absolutely nothing to do with the matter.

Also, as a Catholic, I have zero obligation to support Donald or any other politician at this stage of our political process. I have no obligation to praise him, no obligation to refrain from criticizing him, nor any obligation to refrain from obstructing him in any way. One can debate our voting obligations and how that might influence our choices, but even then, one could not vote for Donald on his own merits. One could make an argument that the alternative was worse and that could justify voting for a lessor evil. But he clearly was a vote for a lessor evil and not a vote for virtue.

It’s pretty likely that FDR was having an affair with Lucy Mercer while Eleanor was pregnant their final child. He was born in 1916, the same year the affair started.

Okay, I’ll take you at your word, but it doesn’t matter. FDR has passed on. Trump is our president now, and two, or a thousand, wrongs don’t make a right.

Do you have an obligation to wish good things for our country? The man is president. He is making decisions for our country. Do you have no obligation to the USA? This may be your problem.

What does wanting good things for the country have to do with Trump? He increased the deficit, is that a good thing?

Actually you and others seem to be judging conservatives for voting for DT when the other choice was worse. Now you throw up all his faults instead of trying to find good in there and there is good in there… You seem to be judging that we can’t be Catholic and surely we are hypocrites and are going to have to answer to God. So you seem to be judging US… I keep telling you why we voted for him but you say that is not relevant–but it is the MOST relevant. NOW, here we are! Let’s at least want what is best for the country from this point on and NOT resist…

YHe’s the president, not a king. Condoning these shenanigans that he does is scandal.

Catholics should be able to say that sleeping with another woman is adultery. Adultery is wrong. Trump is wrong for having done that.

But instead we pretend it doesn’t matter.

Abortion is linked to promiscuity. Promiscuity leads to abortion (added this last phrase)
