Here lies the fundamental contradiction:

1.) We are all sinners (theory) but I am acting out of instinct (virtue) so my acts are praiseworthy

2.) Christ healed sinners but did not remove any instinctual drives, so my acts are still praiseworthy

3.) Objective morality is really the subjective reasoning and legislation of others, but since I am instinctual, such restrictions do not apply to me.

The unifying theory here is simply hedonism - everything else is sacrificed to the disordered pleasure of the moment - and so as not to feel guilty about this, let’s change the way society views perversion.

This is why it is so important to read the USCCB statement to Faithful Citizens, and clearly identify that we can not vote for those who actively support intrisic evil.

We should really stop feeding the trolls and go back to the OP. It’s an interesting topic and I admire ABSHP Dolan for have the courage to write Obama. Calling out the Obama administration on it’s agenda.

Popularity of a particular sin does not wash away the guilt that comes with it.

Obviously, God has chosen to forgive those that ask forgiveness, and to condemn those that reject it.

Of course, the intent to not sin anymore must be in place, else there is no true contrition and forgivness cannot be provided.

It is interesting that every time a member the magisterium mentions our obligation to care for the poor and needy we are inundated with posts telling us the Church is calling for worldwide socialism. But when a member the magisterium makes a direct comment about not politically supporting abortion or homosexuality we are told it is just their personal opinion.

All the way to work today I was thinking how we are frogs sitting in a heating up pot.

Unless we stop this slide, pedophilia and polygamy as alternative lifestyles are next on the agenda.

Our world today is like ancient Rome and the warnings Paul gave them about boy prostitution and other “unnatural” liaisons.

In the end, we will all be judged. God wants us 100%, not “well, I tried.” He wants ALL of us. Christ’s Church will prevail.

We need to place ourselves in God’s hands and be his instruments in the world.

So Christ has not returned yet, but we both agree that God/Christ will forgive and heal homosexuals of their sore afflictions that they will indeed sin no more, and instead revel in the joy of heterosexual relations as God designed.

The only truly divine entities of the old and new testaments are God and His son Christ, who was murdered by crucifixion due to the evil conduct of His own people and others around Him.

His story was recorded and passed down to us through a world teaming with evil and manly egos striving for supremacy in a hopelessly flawed and inherently evil world that fed live Christians to lions for belief and faith in Christ’s divinity.

So for any non-divine entities, like say a man or woman, to claim divine attributes without providing objective proof of their divinity, healing the sick, raising the dead, parting the seas, etc, any claims they make about infallible knowledge of God, and the standards requisite to obtain His promised heaven, must be viewed with a cautious pragmatism that fully appreciates the true degree of sinful conduct in which Christ’s sacrifice for us was made, to fulfil the plans of His Divine Father.

How you know the answers to each minute detail of God’s plan and requisites for it’s consumation on earth beats me, With such flawed manly record keeping, that keeps being updated through scientific means, it’s a wonder that enough of the truth of Christ’s story has been passed down to us intact enough to actually accomplish God’s purpose here on earth.

And yet here you sit in judgement, denouncing as evil and satanic a very small minority of sinners, not that much different than the very sinners who crucified Christ, who then beseeched His Father to forgive their sins against Him, that they were done in ignorance.

Why are you not as kind and forgiving of murdering sinners as Christ friends?

It has always been my hope that the church is beyond mere politics.

The ideals provided for by God’s church are illustrated to one degree or another in either political party, some more then others, but neither perfectly.

And that is why my affiliation is neither republican or democrat.
When asked which I am, I say Catholic. And let their own short-sighted opinions fall where they may.
