Baby laughing at something in room

I wasn’t aware that God let’s people out of heaven to go on earthly visits to loved ones.
If He lets them out of purgatory to visit loved ones, why couldn’t He allow those in heaven to do the same?

Yes my “unique” beliefs came from Father Amorth in his book an exorcist tells his story

I wasn’t aware that God let’s people out of purgatory either.

I think you read too many fairy tales

Gonna jump in here as a mother of an infant who has witnessed this behavior and also as someone who has studied early child development.

My baby often will laugh at and interact with nothing or blank walls. The first time I saw it, I thought “Guardian Angel” too, since it was not a behavior I had seen before and my mind went wild for a few seconds…but then I remembered my education. this is not a new, strange, or undocumented thing. There are a lot of theories out there that range from retinas shifting and developing and therefore creating visual patterns that are intriguing (like the “floaters” you see when you look at a bright blue sky or blank white screen) to them noticing the patterns of the wall texture for the first time, or even just a tickly feeling in their stomach. There are also theories that they are beginning to use their imagination or developing an inner monologue and can entertain themselves with their thoughts and the lack of stimulation that comes from a blank wall makes these thoughts more pronounced. Simply put, there are ten thousand rational reasons for this behavior.

When the church investigates miracles, they always opt for a scientific explanation. In this case, there are plenty of those. If this increases your faith, then wonderful! We know God uses the natural orders to reveal himself. But, don’t be too let down when you encounter a child development book that explains that this is a common behavior seen in just about every baby since the dawn of time. It’s why there are SO many stories about babies being sensitive to the spiritual realms in nearly all cultures and faiths.

What do you mean?!! Stuff on the internet isn’t always true?!!!😁

That’s so true. God sent a soul to my husband to pray for once. My husband was walking in an empty school and as he walked past a classroom he saw a guy in his twenties, in a blue sweatshirt, with his head down and praying. He took a few steps back because he thought the school was empty and there was no one there anymore. So my husband said a few prayers assuming it was a soul in Purgatory

Babies might very well laugh at anything they see. So, one cannot determine what is seen merely from the fact the baby laughed. Yet, a baby appearing to see something that is not there is quite significant. Would not the absence of the cause of laughter concern anyone? Indeed, this is certainly well outside the realm of normal, daily experiences.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could remember our infancy? What a trip that would be. Like remembering our birth? It actually might be traumatic, though. But still…🤔😃

Yes, it can and does. I was saying that dust under a lens would not reflect light, only floating dust in the air would. And it would look like an orb, true.

Padre Pio saw them all the time. He was frightened at first, then he was like, meh. Just shows you can get used to anything.

I think that’s the basis of a lot of psychotherapy, people having traumatic births that cause them to be unbalanced or neurotic their whole lives.

Exactly! Like I said someone, please, tell me how to scientifically prove when a baby has seen an angel and we can go from there. Because it’s impossible to prove that. So basically you are all telling me to just believe that’s its normal behavior and nothing else. But we know our baby best and believe it was his guardian angel at least.

I would think that all births must be traumatic. I mean, the poor little thing just got evicted in a very rough way. Probably not pleasant.

But we know our baby best and believe it was his guardian angel at least.
Go ahead and believe it. The religious police aren’t gonna break down your door if you’re wrong! 😀 And you know what? People do see angels. Sometimes. And that must include babies. They’re people, too. 😁

Yeah if you read the thread you will see that certain events during the day led me to believe otherwise. In my original post however, I suspected both.
