In the late 1970s I studied Spanish for a year in Spain. While there, there was a little children’s show that I would watch sometimes to help pick up more Spanish vocabulary. Here is its’ theme song, which I enjoyed. It must’ve been silly to see a college student watching a kid’s show on TV but I wasn’t proud and took every opportunity to learn more of the language. It’s name was "Un Globo, Dos Globos, Tres Globos’. In Spanish, a “globo” could mean a globe or a balloon.

“Immersion”, that’s the best way or at least, one of the best ways to learn and in fact, I can relate to that.

“Daniel Boone”, “High Chaparral”, I think 2 more worth a mention.

This was another one of those that’s probably been forgotten by many, though my dad and I loved it (it only lasted 13 episodes). Not Mel Brooks’ finest work, another example of the theme song being better than the show!

My family loved “High Chaparral”. I heard that Linda Cristal, the actress that played Victoria, died recently.

I liked that “Here Come the Brides” song, but preferred the Bobby Sherman radio version. I also totally forgot David Soul was on that show.

Here’s an awesome one written and sung by the brilliant Harry Nilsson. I liked this as a kid, many decades later I learned that Nilsson’s own father walked out on his family when Nilsson was three which makes the song seem very poignant now.

Harry Nilsson wrote that. That is amazing. I did not know that.

Wasn’t he the same guy who sang, ‘Everybody’s talking at Me’ ? One of my favorite oldie songs.

Okay, I will confess that as a child, I kinda had a girl crush on Marlo Thomas. I thought she was so beautiful! 😊

I liked the theme song but could never understand how she put up with her boyfriend Donald. It seemed like she spent an inordinate amount of time trying to keep Donald from being upset. I would have kicked Donald to the curb in about the first fifteen minutes.

Me too. I think that was a very sweet tv series…and I won’t go into her personal life. I gather her background is, at least in part, Lebanese and I’m sure what the religion would be called but I believe they are in communion with the Catholic Church.

That poor guy passed away. I believe some time ago, one can look it up.

Yes, a really long time ago at a young age. He had a congenital heart problem that probably wasn’t helped by his drinking and partying. It’s interesting that after he cleaned up his act, he and his third wife had six kids together.
