At least there is diversity at the DNC!!! I think I counted on 12 Black people and 1 Asian at the RNC.

Clinton made no mention of the three and half million or so unborn children killed so far during the Obama presidency, or of the nearly 55 million killed since SCOTUS essentially permitted abortion on demand.

The irony is that those 55 million would have been a boon to an economy of aging baby boomers.

From the sound of Clinton’s speech Medicare will go bankrupt either by 2016 or 2024. It doesn’t sound good no matter who is right. Unfunded liabilities and not enough young workers make this a much harder problem than Clinton faced. $16 trillion is a lot of money. And $120 trillion in unfunded liabilities is a lot of money.

I agree about the cooperation… too bad the current pres doesn’t appear to

I don’t know if most of you were watching coverage of Bill Clinton on FOX or how many were watching CNN as I was. But Wolf Blitzer said that may have been the best speech he has ever heard Bill Clinton give in his life. And a Republican commentator and consultant Alex Castellanos said that probably just re-elected Barack Obama. Amazing speech!

What bothered me the most was Jena Nardella who did the closing prayer on day one of the DNC. She prayed to a nameless and generic god in public with a party that is for murder of abortion, and yet I hear she’s an inspired christian.

A Christian band I listen to, namely Jars of Clay, posted her prayer video on a fan page saying to listen to her prayer. People started quoting her. The words are so lovely, many said. I read that the band wanted their fans to ‘like’ her organization: Blood:Water Mission. I wondered why is she there in the first place, of course, but also why pray with those fully expecting them to continue with murder. A verse later came to mind:

“These people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.” - Jesus Christ, Mark 7:6.

These political parties use prayers at conventions for political purposes. These are advertising shows to get people to vote for their party. Everything is scripted. There’s so many generic christians praying with a party that is against God’s will. It’s upsetting, but thank God I found the Catholic Church. They can say public prayers all they want, but their actions speak much louder. I doubt God heard them because he wasn’t called by name.

As Catholics, we need to vote our beliefs. I heard it best said once: we are first citizens of the Catholic church, so we need to vote as Catholics first. I let go of taking sides at political parties, and I’m now voting for the best person for any office. We need to put God first, instead of doing what we want and then asking God to bless it.

Maybe because he knows most Americans don’t vote only on the single issue of abortion or maybe they do not necessarily agree with the Catholic faith’s full position on it.

thank God I found the Catholic Church.

AMEN AMEN
I thank God Every day i am in His Church… :gopray2:

That’s interesting because all of the comments I’ve seen are talking about how they love Clinton, but Obama not so much.

I presume that the Democratic Party at least hopes that Catholics don’t vote in accord with the Church’s position on abortion. And yet the party has made its unlimited abortion position so central that no divergence is allowed. So it also hopes that the pro-abortion contingent will vote based on this one issue.

It remains a remarkable feat of prestidigitation to me that the Democratic Party has managed to transform itself into the Party of Abortion without attracting undue attention to the fact.

You’re right Cmatt - Romney should just concede and go home. Instead of an election we can have an Obama Coronation ceremony.

There is no doubt that the Democrat party is the party of abortion. Democrat catholics - here is your party. How do you like it?

Possibly

Not by a long shot.

What’s going to happen, I predict, is a bunch of Democratic commentators are going to end the week wishing Bill Clinton or Hillery were running.

By the way, most young Democrats doen’t even know who Bill Clinton is.

Obama would love a coronation, but as of now the people still retain at least a show of control
