That would have to be one awfully crowded throne if everyone is sitting in exactly the same spot 😃
There are 24 of them, 12 old 12 new, revisit the book of Revelation.
“You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church”
Don’t know about you, but I would NOT give my keys to somebody I knew would betray me three times.
Read John chapter 21 again.

You sure seem to have a lot of disdain for the Holy Mother and the Apostles. I would reread what Paul and Peter say about reviling the glorious ones.

Just out of curiousity why would you bother reading the Gospel of Mark? Mark recorded his gospel according to the teachings and words of Peter. The very guy you imply is a Judas that Christ never forgave.

Peace and God Bless

I guess that would mean that those who overcome will reign with Christ.

“You are Peter and on this rock I will build my Church”

** Don’t know about you, but I would NOT give my keys to somebody I knew would betray me three times.**

Note how Jesus didn’t say “You are Peter and on you I will build my Church”.
There was the Peter who pointed to Jesus and said “You are the Christ! The Son of the Living God!”
Then there was the Peter who denied Jesus.

Peter: “I don’t know the man!”
Jesus: “You are the guy!”

No way. Instead:

Peter: “You are the Christ! The Son of the Living God!”
Jesus: I will build my Church on that"

Jesus, the Sure Foundation.
Peter, denied Jesus three times despite following Him for over 3 years.
LOL Don’t know about you, but I am not God so that wasn’t my decision. In fact, there are alot of mysteries I don’t understand.

Take a closer look at the Bible. Abraham lies about his wife. Moses commits murder, and disobeys God, barring himself from entering the promised land. David commits adultery, and murder.
Did God make a mistake in choosing Abraham to be the father of His Chosen people, or in Moses to lead His people out of Egypt, or in David to be king?
Personally, Peter’s denial and subsequent repentance gives me great hope. No matter how many times I sin or rebel against God, God can still welcome me back to the fold, and still use me to advance His kingdom.

Of course Jesus forgives. Tell me, which chapter and verse in Acts to 2 Peter does Paul and Peter mention Mary?

I see you are still having problems with the quote function. 😦

I am praying for them through Jesus Christ the mediator to God the Father.
That’s what the Saints in heaven do. They pray for us through Jesus Christ the mediator to God the Father.

Also, when talking about prayer, keep in mind prayer simply means to ask. If you read older English works, you’ll see people saying, "I pray thee, " or “prithee,” a contraction for I pray thee. For example, “I pray you, please close the door.” Or “Prithee, be quiet.” These quotations do not mean that these people prayed to other humans as an act of adoration or worship. They simply asked them to do something.
Only after the English Church was established, and Puritanism arose in England, did the English word prayer become something that was associated with God alone. However, I believe British people still “pray the court to consider bail.”

Wow! The saints in Heaven pray to God, the people on earth pray to God. MMmmmm. Both of us going to God.

The difference being that they’re ALREADY purified to the utmost of everything that held them back from union with God while they were on Earth, and they are in His glory and his presence, seeing Him face to face rather than through the dark glass … how can you think their prayers are not more effective than ours?

The Bible says ‘the prayer of a RIGHTEOUS man availeth much’ … not that everyone’s prayers are heard equally - the saints in heaven are the most righteous and glorified of us all.

“Saint” (according to the Bible Dictionary)

one separated from the world and consecrated to God; one holy by profession and by covenant; a believer in Christ (Ps. 16:3; Rom. 1:7; 8:27; Phil. 1:1; Heb. 6:10)

This word is also used of the holy dead (Matt. 27:52; Rev. 18:24). It was not used as a distinctive title of the apostles and evangelists and of a “spiritual nobility” till the fourth century. In that sense it is not a scriptural title.

We Christians are called to be separated from the world. All believers in Christ are called saints.

(Rom. 5:1-10). If you accepted Jesus as your Savior, believe that He died to take our sins away, you’ve accepted God’s sacrifice. You are righteous.
Actually, I’ve seen that prayers of children are more effective than most adults.

kujo, you’re quibbling unnecessarily about terminology. The fact is a PERSON who is face-to-face with God in heaven and partaking to the fullest in God’s glory is a very different creature to you and me and any other earthbound human, child or adult. And no, I do not believe that we who ‘see through a glass darkly’ can pray just as effectively as they can - it’s totally illogical to assume so.

Amazingly enough this is also what your pastor does when you ask him to pray for you.

Yes.
Which is why God said he accepted Job’s prayers on his friends’ behalf, rather than their own prayers directly to God. Job was righteous.

Peace.

I am starting to understand how Protestantism in the long run lead to secularism. As a religion it stresses the individual so much that it doesn’t seem to know how to deal with the fact that human beings are social animals in every way–spiritually as well as physically. It denies the fact that human beings need one another, rely on one another, spiritually as well as physically. It denies the fact that most human beings sense that the dead are still a part of human community.
Frankly it seems to question the humanity of Jesus by denying His love for His mother and His friends. He trusted His friends, knowing that they were imperfect. He delegated. He asked His best friend to take care His mother. He asked the women to tell the apostles about the Resurrection. He knows us. He is human in the best sense of the term.

There is a huge - mega - “you can’t miss it” Sacrifice in the New Testament.

Did you think sacrifice happened only in the Old Testament?

Look again.

Now there is a substantial post. You had 20 or so posts you could have responded to between mine which you quoted and your response and this is all you have to say? The person to whom you were responding didn’t know what you meant by “sacrifices!” either. I apologize for attempting to decipher what “sacrifices!” was supposed to mean. I don’t think anyone else knows either. Can you please elaborate?

Why don’t the replies have the post number that they are replying to?

Actually…I don’t have all day and night to stay on here. So, last night I went to bed  and this morning I got up and went to class. When I had a chance, I came back to my computer and this post was the first response I saw, so I responded to it. Then…o no! I had to go to work. So, that is why…
