I’m glad you said this, Homers. We are getting somewhere with you, now. We’re getting to the heart of the matter.
Homers…there’s NOTHING wrong with you coming out and asking your wife to NOT see a male ob/gyn. It doesn’t mean you are insecure, etc…(it’s not intimacy though, to go to the doctor, but we’re getting there lol)
So that being said…if this is what you and your wife agree on, that is great. It doesn’t mean other women don’t love their spouses, if they see a male ob/gyn. Now, that’s just silly to even think something like that. My dh never minded me seeing a male doctor, he viewed it as a professional thing. Your view of your wife seeing a male doctor is somehow a break in the intimacy bond between the two of you. That is the difference between your thoughts, and others thoughts about it here. I really don’t think any woman would see a male ob/gyn because they disrespect the intimate bond with their husbands. They just don’t view it as intimate–because it isn’t.
We are not trying to convince you to change your mind about your wife seeing male doctors…but we are hopeful that you’ll see that your view of doctors’ visits needs to be tweaked…it’s not about intimacy. And women who see male physicians are not trying to tempt other men, or fate, or ‘create’ intimacy with them.
