More "woke" brainwashing before and during Toy Story 4

Of course the movie itself had to feature a lesbian couple with a child in school; not as main characters, but prominent enough to be noticed for what it was.
In his review of Toy Story 4, Steven D. Greydanus gives no indication that the movie features a lesbian couple.

Why do we toss around terms like Agenda?

You don’t have a bunch of gays in a darkly lit but somehow rainbow lair plotting the downfall of man kind.

Most of them are sick of being in a world where they get beat up.

In the Church, men are the primary teachers… specifically the bishops and priests. That’s always been the case. As St Paul says “I do not permit a woman to teach… men.” (Not that the Church applies this literally anymore).

I think we’re dealing with a bit of Poe’s law here. Might be best to just flag and move on. The comments add nothing to the discussion beyond thinly veiled insults.

Usually before a movie comes out there are trailer previews. It is pretty obvious when a movie is going to be lousy. The trailer will be lousy, as well.

Even some straight guys get beat up because they don’t follow the macho stereotype.

I was accused of being gay by my wheelchair basketball teammates my freshman year in college because I wouldn’t look at porn magazines.

In college I experienced the same thing because I didn’t care to hear about the jovial stories of the other guys or join them in their activities that in modern times would be recognized and labeled as sexual harassment and sexual assault.

In high school and earlier I remember hearing of people that thought if a man displayed anything that was perceived as being “gay” (such as emotional sensitivity) then the best way to “help” him would be to physically assault him to help him to become more masculine.

Every Tuesday T-Mobile USA gives out perks and gifts. This Tuesday (today) for pride month T-mobile is giving away water bottles with a rainbow T-Mobile logo on them. My nephew says he wants one of the bottles just because. My nephew isn’t gay (at least I don’t think he is). I thought that was an interesting change that the environment years ago that one’s safety was at risk from the speculation that the person was gay to someone living in a conservative community feeling comfortable having an item that is associated with gay pride.

I sometimes run educational programs to get girls more interested in science. There’s been a big push to conduct these sorts of efforts since at least the mid-90s. It’s just not working. As someone quoted above, the stats for female participation in STEM has gone down if anything, despite all the efforts to get girls excited about STEM.

Fair enough. I don’t think it is a perfect gauge, but I could certainly see the Dark Phoenix disaster coming from the trailers.

If you’re referring to mine, it actually:
  1. Points out that women have gotten more interested in STEM in general.
  2. That there were a lot of cultural factors that took off in the 80s to contribute to the decline in CS. Granted, those factors are less prominent now, but it’s hard to tell how much lasting effect they’ll have.

While this is usually my experience also, I’ve had some notable surprises. After rolling my eyes through the previews in the weeks before Frozen was released, I went in to the thing with the lowest of low expectations - and mainly to keep the domestic peace with wife and daughters - and had had a beer beforehand just to help things along; but I ended out loving it! Just a really fun film. So previews aren’t always the final word. 🙂

no matter how superior the product is to doing things in Excel, the business people refuse to change. As such, some see it as the enemy of software innovation.
I bet it is because so much data is in excel spreadsheets and unless the software can incorporate those files I doubt businesses will change. Also, users get into a rut.

I had the same attitude when Adobe abandoned PageMaker for InDesign.

The topic was messaging by Disney in Toy Store 4.

If claims of gay men being beat up are fine, discussion of it happening to straight men too should be okay, especially since you aren’t arbiter of telling something they are off-topic when you veered off the road earlier yourself.

Let me spell it out for you, you are giving into ‘whataboutism’.
Two wrongs don’t make a right and clouding up the waters with issues that while similar only dilute the point being made.

The point
I was making that the tone of the thread is disingenuous to the LGBT community regardless if they are right or wrong.

Acting or posting as if they have an agenda undermines the whole point of fair treatment or equal representation in media as since they exist and something we have to deal with our world.

Like how you just attempted to undermine my point.
