The Alien Enemies Act was part of the Alien and Seditions Acts of 1798. Of course there was a racial bias involved in the internment of as many Japanese Americans as possible while treating German Americans on an individual basis.

When there is no distinction between the gang and the government? If this situation doesn’t qualify for asylum, perhaps nothing does.
Since Chicago has both gangs and corrupt local governance,
do you then agree Chicagoan’s have the right of asylum in Canada?

Indeed…and exactly what the current administration is doing.
In 97 the Court thought it was ‘evil’ to keep the children with their ‘parents’ and ordered that they be separated and kept in a less restrictive environment. This ruling dictated Bush, Obama, and Trump policy equally

I asked that a bit ago of one of our adamant progressive protesters, whether someone from the wrong part of Chicago qualifies for asylum in Canada.
I don’t think so, because the violence in Chicago isn’t explicitly government sponsored or encouraged. But the result would be interesting, especially following the G7 meetings.

Not sure what this has to do with being Evangelical or Roman Catholic. There is no political qualifications to being Catholic. I myself am politically conservative and am a Roman Catholic. In fact I am a “cradle Catholic” I’ve never even belonged to any other Christian Faith Community, other than maybe visiting a church because of another friend or family member.

Love you Brother Victor🙂
Yes, we are a diverse group here. That’s how the Kingdom of God should be. My father was a cradle Catholic also and showed me the CC faith, till I left it to go with the Evangelicals in the late 90’s. I was like many of you here, and we were called the Religious Right.

I’d argue with my dad saying how can you vote Democrat. He’d tell me that Republicans only want to help the rich. We were a middle class family. Not very wealthy, nor poor. I thought, he’s Catholic, so he doesn’t understand the bible.

God I wish was dad was still alive today so I could tell him I returned to the Catholic Church. I now understand what he meant.

I love all you brothers and sisters in Christ also.

I was on EWTN radio discussing this very topic on Friday.

I read that Canada has already deported 80% of the border jumpers near NY, seeking asylum.

They are trying to escape gang violence and corruption?
Bet the people who live in Detroit, Baltimore, St. Louis, Oakland, Memphis, Atlanta, Cleveland or Stockton, among others, would be safer in one of these border “camps”, and should start migrating to them and asking for asylum for safety too. Those cities that can’t/don’t/won’t make it safe for it’s own citizens are complicit in the conditions those people have to live in. It’s all about their priorities in what they spend their money on.

No it wasn’t okay when Obama did it.
Agree…but yet another exam ple where Trump supporters justify actions because others did it…a pretty childish argument, but they seem to insist on using it, again and again.
Childish? Why is it childish to make a statement of fact. Just because you don’t like the truth, doesn’t mean we have to hide it.

No forced labor, starving rations, or burn ovens.
Concentration camps are not defined by this. That is just the way the Nazis used them. They are defined by the mass “concentration” of a populace, both the atrocities of the Nazis, and the lesser evil of the Japanese in America. But really, MSNBC? It is hard to get more bias and rhetoric on television. Maybe FOX.

Don’t be so quick,
I see nothing wrong with the 97 court ruling, and the much better conditions the children are kept in vs regular detention facilities.

I think your demand to hold the family together in detention facilities is cruel and unusual. It’s as if you want us to start arresting the whole family when any parent is caught breaking the law.

FOX spins the news for sure - but they don’t make stuff up or show stories without checking them out.

Its childish because it is used to justify contnuing a wrong.

It would be noble to say wrong were committed in the past and i will correct them instead of using history as an excuse.

Thats how youre hero sees it too…and when reduced to the level of that thought, the evilness is undeniable.

The original post was a panel. These type of networks put on terrible panels. They feed like-minded people. The time the have someone else come in (a conservative to MSNBC or progressive to FOX, it always seemed like an opportunity just to yell down someone.

Personally, I have found more local news to be the most reliably neutral, at least on national issues. It is like they do not have the luxury of ticking off either side.

Trump operating Concentration Camps? That’s silly. Wouldn’t MSNBC people, Mueller, Comey and Hillary BE there? And Manafort free again?

Fake news. But I am entertained.

That said some military facilities are pretty spare per perquisites. And processing people coming over the borders (without passports or visas) sometimes includes providing them … something in the interim.

Concentration Camps?! Right. Stoke up the ovens.

😨 - I believe it! 😱😰
